It was everything that we anticipated. The host offered suggestions for places to visit which was helpful. The place was beautiful and had nice views of the pond.

Very spacious and clean house. Great deck for relaxing with a view of the pond. Jill, owner, was very responsive and helpful. Prepared the home for our group with age appropriate toys for the kids, plenty of information of the area and things to do. Appreciated that and had an enjoyable stay.

We had a fantastic stay at Biscay Repose! We were four adults with two young kids, and we found the house had everything we needed. It was bright, very clean and lovingly decorated with lots of charming touches throughout (books/games/regional decor). We made nice meals with ingredients from the local farm stand and food co-op, and the kitchen was well-equipped with cookware/tools. The views of the lake out of the living room window and from the deck were beautiful. We found it easy to drive from the house to many nearby towns for shopping/eating/exploring and to area beaches and lighthouses. The house really had a great vibe. Hats off to the host Jill who was responsive and thoughtful from before our booking to throughout our stay. We would recommend this house for those looking for a cozy and well-located homebase in the area. We hope to return!

Great location with peaceful views overlooking the pond. Jill was a great host and communicated with us anytime we had questions. The place was cozy and quiet, which was perfect after our day trips up and down the mid coast of Maine. This was a perfect central location to all the things we had planned on our itinerary.

This house has everything! I've never stayed in a rental property that was so well stocked and organized. The house is very spacious and nicely decorated. We were all especially impressed with how clean it was. It's tucked away on a private road, nice and quiet but close to everything. We really enjoyed sitting on the deck every morning with our coffee and listening to the birds sing. Jill was wonderful to work with and very accommodating. She really thought of everything when she put this vacation home together. I highly recommend this house for everyone, even those traveling with children. It was home away from home for all of us. We definitely will be back. Thank you Jill for a wonderful stay!!!

I couldn't be more pleased with this rental home. It was exactly as described and pictured. The living area on the first floor was spacious and inviting, with lovely decor that felt very intentional. We actually felt like we were living in the owner's home as opposed to a vacation rental. The kitchen was superbly stocked with all of the cookware and utensils needed to enjoy meals at home. We also appreciated that there was charcoal for the grill. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck with its peek-a-boo view of the pond. It's a very peaceful and private setting surrounded by tall trees.Jill (owner) responded to texts promptly and went out of her way to make sure our stay was comfortable. We greatly appreciated her attention to detail and her friendly conversation.We would love to return next time we come over to the area.

Peaceful and Quiet Getaway

As the title states, it was a peaceful area to stay in. Our host was phenomenal when the power went out, going as far to provide some water (we have a sub-one year old) and a coffee maker. I would recommend this location to family and friends

A wonderful vacation at Biscay Repose!

My wife and two children stayed at Biscay Repose for two weeks and we absolutely loved our time there! Jill was a superb host. She was always very kind, responsive, and helpful both before and all during our trip. We had asked her if it the house had a crib for our 2-year-old son and, though it didn’t, she went out of her way to locate one for us. She was also very helpful with directions, since Google Maps is not reliable near the house (we discovered that Apple Maps did work well though). The house itself was beautiful, just as advertised, spotlessly clean, and well furnished and equipped. The house location is very quiet and peaceful, and steps from the pond. There is a small beach at the pond, but we spent much of our time visiting the Pemaquid beach and lighthouse, about 20 minutes drive, which are truly gorgeous. Damariscotta is the nearest town, about 10 minutes drive, with great shops and restaurants, on and off the waterfront. I highly recommend Biscay Repose. We’d love to return for a future summer visit.

Wow, thank you SO much. I'm sorry doing the review was problematic, but am hopeful your glowing review might generate more traffic. I have made a list of all your suggestions and hope to incorporate them before any future guests. I was horrified to see that main floor bedroom door so off. Last we knew it closed fine! Thank you for your input. The humidity has been exceptionally high this year , which is at least 1 factor. We'd love to have you for a return visit any time. Thank you for leaving it so nice and clean. Also, thank you for the repayment of the postage so generously! Enjoy the end of summer! Thanks again, Jill (and Rob)
