Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. Great home for sleeping many in the Hilo area
I was initially thrown off by needing to install and register the Vacasa app due to this home being maintained by that company, but besides that it was a fantastic stay in a spacious and comfortable home. If you're looking to sleep 4-8 people in the same place in between sightseeing around Hilo while still having a reasonable amount of space, this home is perfect.

Great, air-conditioned home with washer & dryer.
-A/C unit in the living room that kept the whole home a nice temp (we were there in June).
-Washer & dryer with detergent provided.
-We had an issue with the shower knob and they sent someone out within the hour to fix it. Great in person response time!!
-Roosters and cats lounging in the neighbors' yards was a plus.
-Plenty of parking.
-Would stay here again.

The front door was a major problem and the property manager knows about the ongoing problem and has not properly fixed it. The door frame sticks and the combination lock it not working properly. You call for help and they just tell you what you already know and the door lock still doesn’t work correctly. The code is ten digits which you can not enter in the time frame allowed. The property manager firm is all about fallowing rules not about helping the traveler. I would not recommend this property to anybody with current management.

Our records show that our customer service team was able to assist you with the access issues during your stay and contacted our maintenance staff to look further into the door issues. After your departure, our staff checked the lock, and it is working fine. The 10-digit code needs to be entered in a timely manner, or it will not work. We value your insights and will continue monitoring the guest access to ensure assistance is provided when needed. We hope to have the opportunity to provide you with an improved stay in the future.

Cute Home in Papaikou
The home is located in Papaikou just outside of Hilo but still close to the local Walmart and Target. Walmart and Target is approximately 10 minutes from the house.
The house has an outdoor shower and laundry room with a lock code that is provided once you book.
The main house door requires a code as well.
We love that the doors have extra security since we had kids on this trip.
The house was well kept and with extra supplies and even an extra sleeping cot for additional guests.
There’s even a cabinet with first aid supplies.
They thought of everything!
The only downside would be that the main house shower valve took a while to shut off and the water only runs really hot not cold.
We hadn’t told the homeowner or contacted anyone from Vacasa, so this could have been resolved during the stay. That was the only thing.
Other than that, great home. Quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Two thumbs up!
