Chillin on Chestnut in the Hound Ears Club gated community is at the epicenter of the High Country, the perfect homebase for your mountain adventures. The Blue Ridge Parkway is about five miles away and offers overlooks with breathtaking views and hiking trails for hikers of all skill levels. Enjoy a walk around Bass Lake or explore the Cone Manor. The town of Boone is less than fifteen minutes away and has many local restaurants and breweries, local shopping in downtown Boone, and several parks the kids in your party will love. Banner Elk is less than twenty away and features local dining, wineries, and the Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster. Downtown Blowing Rock, about twenty minutes from the cabin, is perfect for a stroll, window shopping, or having a bite to eat. The town park will delight guests of all ages with playgrounds, tennis courts, and basketball courts.

Chillin on Chestnut is a charming home sitting on a wooded corner lot. The vaulted ceilings with dark exposed beams and the wood-burning fireplace give the great room a comfortable lodge feel. The spacious living room has leather furniture where guests can gather to share stories or curl up while watching a favorite show. The outfitted kitchen and stocked coffee bar are ready for your next meal or morning coffee. Outside, the back deck has enough seating for everyone to gather for a meal from the grill and enjoy fresh mountain air by the fire table. The wooded lot offers privacy while lounging in the hot tub after a day on the ski slopes. Downstairs, the game room, with ping pong, a foosball table, and darts, will surely be the center of friendly game nights. The lower level den offers another relaxing space to watch the football game or play a board game, and the wet bar offers the option of keeping drinks cold and snacks on hand without having to venture upstairs.

Chillin on Chestnut can accommodate up to eleven guests in four bedrooms. The master bedroom is on the main floor and has a sizeable 4-poster king bed, a TV, a workspace, and an attached bathroom. The spacious bathroom offers a spa-like experience with a free-standing soaker tub and custom tile work in the step-in shower. A second main-floor bedroom suite has a queen bed, TV, and an ensuite with double vanities and a step-in shower. The lower level has a bunk room accommodating five persons in twin-over-twin and twin-over-full bunk beds. The bunk room shares a full bathroom with the neighboring queen bedroom.

Additional amenities include WiFi and a washer and dryer. The main-level living area and each main-level bedroom have mini-split units. The lower-level rooms have electric baseboards or wall heaters. The lower-level bedrooms have portable AC units for summer comfort. Two dogs are welcome on your vacation with an additional pet fee. The covered carport is level and can house up to three vehicles. There is one step up from the carport to the porch. We strongly recommend AWD or 4WD, as well as tire chains for winter travelers. Please note: Hound Ears does not allow Motorcycles with in the gated areas.

You may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund. If you cancel more than 30 days before arrival, you will receive a refund of half the amount paid to date. Cancellations within 30 days before the arrival date do not receive a refund. If you purchase travel insurance and the reason for the cancellation is covered, you may recover the entire amount.
