Enjoy the best of each season from this exceptional mountain view home with a heated swimming pool, tennis/pickleball court, and room for your entire family. House is fully A/C. Nestled on 10 acres with sweeping panorama of the distant mountains and valley! High ceilings, large windows, and oak wood detailing make every room bright and airy. Enjoy the modern kitchen, wrap-around deck, and outside eating. During the summers, enjoy all meals outside on the deck, with a large awning for shade. Unforgettable evening sunsets.

Swimming pool is 20 yards long, ideal for laps and for children; it can be heated, if needed, making it delightful starting in June and continuing past Labor Day (depending on weather). Sliding glass doors on upper and lower levels. Tennis/pickleball court and large lawn area available for outdoor activities. Indoor/outdoor ping-pong table. The house is surrounded by woods, and you will discover a multitude of walking and hiking opportunities in the area, with the Taconic State Park and Catamount Ski (winter) / Catamount Aerial Adventure Park (summer) 5 minutes away.

Dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, A/C throughout, ceiling fans, TV/DVD, stereo, WiFi and broadband.

Adjacent to Taconic State Park, so very much "in the woods"! Winter is beautiful, too -- Catamount Ski Area is 15 minutes away, and Butternut is close, too.

Beautiful location

We had a great stay and Alan is very communicative and easy to work with. The house is beautiful and spacious, and has gorgeous views of the surrounding area.

Incredible views from sunrise to sunset. Very comfortable house. Great location. Tranquil! Peaceful! Alan was a wonderful, attentive host. A perfect autumn getaway.

Ideal Berkshires getaway

I really love this house. Clean, well-maintained, the kitchen's stocked with all the cookware and utensils that myself and my guests could want. The property is secluded and peaceful, the views are absolutely gorgeous, but at the same time it doesn't really feel like it's "in the middle of nowhere." Great Barrington nearby has plenty of restaurants, shopping, and entertainment, and we checked out a few hiking trails nearby as well. Alan's a great host, friendly and communicative, and his welcome booklet and notes left around the house answered most of my questions before they even came up. My second stay won't be my last!

Beautiful views indeed, comfortable stay

Lovely property, good amount of space for two families with elementary aged children. Cant do late nights if you don’t want to disturb those sleeping in the loft, but wasn't an issue for us. Close to lots of charming towns and very close to Taconic state park and hiking. Tennis courts were great to have - kids loved to play there for tennis and otherwise. Alan was in close communication the whole time and has great recommendations. You do have to take your own garbage out when you leave - so try to leave on a Saturday or Wednesday for convenience ;)

Delightful all around

This is a lovely place to locate your stay in the Berkshires/Hudson River Valley. About 20 minutes to both Great Barrington MA and Hudson NY. 5 minutes to Harlem Valley Rail Trail. 10 minutes to amazing hiking. This home is lovingly maintained by the owners. Great views, great pool! We can’t wait to come back.

A great week in the Catskills!

Our host Alan could not have been nicer! He was available to answer any questions at a moment’s notice. The house was located on a breathtaking piece of property. The views were fantastic and the surroundings very peaceful. The house met all our needs! Will definitely be back!

Wonderful house Exceptional Views

We’ve stayed at Alan’s house approximately 4 times over the years. The mountaintop views are spectacular. The house is very spacious & inviting the landscape is breathtaking The pool is beautiful. The property is peaceful & relaxing. We’ve been going to Copake for over 30 years Alan is wonderful to deal with. Highly recommended

Fabulous stay at Mitaswell!

This home exceeded our already high expectations. For one, it is an absolute pleasure to deal with Alan, he is friendly, thoughtful and responsive to our needs. The home is meticulously kept, everything is labelled and instructions laid out clearly. Views are breathtaking, seeing as far as the Catskills on a clear day. The living area is very comfortable and perfectly laid out with amazing views everywhere you look. Kitchen is well stocked with everything you might need including spices and other basic necessities. We made use of both the loft bedroom for my daughter and my son used the basement rooms which was bright and quite large. The only thing I did not love was that the master bed was firm (I prefer soft, loft bed was cozier for my taste). The home sits at the end/top of a well kept private road, it is private but you do not feel completely isolated as there are neighbors a short distance away. It is located just 7 minutes from Catamount and less to get to Hillsdale. We will definitely be back next winter (hopefully sooner!) we miss waking up to those views already!

Idyllic, quiet retreat!!

My girlfriend and I loved our stay at Mitaswell. It is a very special house, with gorgeous views and in close proximity to everything you'd need. Alan was extremely helpful and responsive with any concerns we had, which, frankly, were few. The house is beautifully maintained, and we enjoyed taking advantage of the pool and tennis court, though mostly we just relaxed on the deck and took in the views of the valley and the Catskills in the distance.

Great view, Great location

One of a kind in the Bershires!

This will be the 3rd summer that we'll spend 4 weeks in this terrific house. (July 2017) Having a pool, tennis court, beautiful large living room with sliding glass doors all around to enjoy the magnificent hilltop views plus A/C! you couldn't find anything better.

Exceptional find!

Lovingly cared for home with beautiful mountain vistas. Very peaceful and tranquil setting but still near many great outdoor activities. Awesome pool surrounded by beautiful flowers and trees. Tennis court was a real plus for the kids. Great hiking and biking nearby. We will be coming back!

Perfect family getaway

This was the perfect summer getaway for our family. The house was spacious, yet cozy and comfortably accommodated three couples and an infant. Each couple had their own room and bathroom, and enough privacy (even the one in the loft space). The living space was great, kitchen had everything we needed and the pool was clean, well-maintained and perfect for the sunny days. We spent almost every meal on the large deck, dining outdoors and grilling. The view from this house, located atop a hill, was fantastic. You could see for miles across farmlands towards the mountains. The location of the house was also great. It felt secluded and private. It was a short or moderate drive to cute towns like Hudson and Great Barrington, farms/farmers markets, grocery stores, shops, hikes, etc. Also, it was just under a three hour drive from NYC. Alan was a lovely host, checking in with us periodically to ensure we had everything we needed and that we were enjoying our vacation. Our family could not have asked for a better experience for our summer getaway, and we will certainly be returning again!

Wonderful House.

Wonderful, Quiet, Peaceful House. Very Private. Grounds beautifully kept. The view from the wraparound deck is absolutely stunning. Beautiful clean pool. (our week was cool on the mountain, so too cold for pool. hope to use it more next time) Very much enjoyed our stay. Owner very nice and easy to deal with. My family and I would definitely go back. A must see for those new to area is Bash Bills Falls and Taconic State Park. The trout fishing is wonderful in Copake's streams.

Excellent house on a beautiful setting!

The house was EXCELLENT - just what we needed for our family vacation. We used everything (pool, tennis courts, outdoor patio, etc.), and everything worked out great. We went to Germantown for the 4th of July fireworks and took a couple of hikes to the Bash Bish waterfall - great short hike for adults and kids of all ages. Highly recommend this for family get-togethers!
