2026: Truly Oceanfront. The Penthouse in Duck, has Amazing Ocean Views!

This oceanfront one of a kind, third-floor condo is located in the quaint town of Duck and has truly spectacular panoramic views of the ocean and the beach. Enjoy majestic sunrises from the private balcony located off of the living room. From inside the home, there are large bay windows for viewing the ocean no matter the weather conditions. This lovely, fully equipped one bed room, two bath condo has a queen sized bed, a children sized (4' 6") bunk bed set and a queen sofa sleeper couch in the living room. There is a compact washer/dryer in the unit for your convenience and additional full sized washers and dryers located on the ground level. Our property is part of the Colony by the Sea association and has numerous amenities to include a large oceanfront pool, a bbq and picnic area, tennis courts, a basketball court and new playground. This condo rents Sunday to Sunday, May through October; flexible dates available in April.

While this condominium has a truly incredible ocean view, please note that it is on the third floor and there are no elevators at this complex.

For your safety and convenience the condo is equipped with keyless entry.

This condo is a short distance from quaint shops and delicious restaurants.

This home includes one set of bed linens per bed and one towel and washcloth per person registered at the home. The master bed is made prior to your arrival!

The pool is seasonal. Expected use dates based on Dare County's inspection schedule are: May 18 - Oct -15 (weather depending). Daily hours are 9AM to Dusk. There is no life guard on duty. Please check with host for updated information.

Golf carts are permitted on the property, but must be parked in the overflow parking area. No electric charging is available at the property.

For larger family gatherings, we also have a beautiful oceanfront two-bed room condominium located on the boarder of Nags Head and Kill Devil Hills, OBX (Seawalk Retreat #12, VRBO Property #3246665).

Everything about our stay was excellent! The unit was exactly as described, very clean and comfortable. The view from the deck was stunning and I enjoyed watching the sun rise every morning with my cup of coffee. Beach access was very convenient and there were even some beach chairs/items available to use.There were plenty of kitchen items provided to cook a simple meal and enough amenities in general to last the week. Overall the entire unit felt very well-appointed and cozy. The boardwalk along the sound is a .5-1.5 mile walk depending on your destination, with a little bit of uphill both ways, but the walk itself felt safe and comfortable with wide roads/sidewalks, and we really enjoyed being able to walk to the many fun restaurants and shops downtown.

We were very pleased with the accommodations and the beautiful view from our condo. We had some great weather and some no so great but that did not dampen our vacation. The condo is in a perfect location to getting to things in duck. We had pleasant walks every morning to Duck Cottage for coffee and then a walk on the boardwalk. The host of the condo were absolutely the best. Always answering questions and got back to us the minute we sent a question. The condo was exactly as described. We will be returning to this rental for sure.

This Condo has the most perfect amazing views! Even sitting inside and eating breakfast in the morning we could see the ocean! It was well stocked with soap, toilet paper, paper towels and plenty of towels and it was spotless!!! Karen and Chris make sure you are well taken care of. Definitely will be coming back! We had so many great memories at your beautiful condo! Thank you!

The location is superb. I enjoyed being slightly off the beaten path but also so close to everything including restaurants, shops and convenience. The condo is very cozy, nostalgic and has everything needed for the week stay. The pool is cleaned and fresh water added daily. The beach is not crowded at all. The stairs are alot but I found it justified extra pastries and ice cream! My mom in her 60s struggled a little bit. It is 4 flights of stairs in addition to the stairs to and from both the beach and pool. The waterfront shoppes are incredibly close by. We had a great time exploring. I highly recommend you try the Outter Banks Olive oil company. The balsamic vingarettes are worth every penny. On thursday we packed a lunch, drove 30 minutes north on route12 to see the wild horses of Carolla and explore the carrituck lighthouse. Friday we went 45 mintues in the opposite direction to the town of Manteo for a dolphin tour. We ate dinner at NC Coast nearby and ordered the Chef board - everything was delicious. All in all it was a wonderful relaxing vacation with most of our downtime spent on the balcony enjoying that beautiful ocean view.

Karen and Chris are outstanding hosts!! During our stay a hurricane was threatening to hit our area. Not only did they help guide us as to what to do to remain safe and protect our property, but they reached out afterwards to make sure we were okay and ask if we needed anything! The site is incredible with a perfect balcony for ocean views and relaxing! The pool for the complex was also great..clean and well kept! The house is pristine clean! What a great week away we had! Thank you, Karen and Chris! 10/10 would recommend!!!

Gorgeous Ocean View!

Our family enjoyed the week of the 4th of July at this condo. It was clean, (which is most important for me) and check in process was super simple! The owner was easy to contact and answered all questions we had, in a short amount of time. The condo is true to the pictures. We would definitely stay here again! It was our first trip to Duck Beach in the Outwr Banks and it is such a family friendly place, so overall place to stay and area it was a fantastic choice and vacation.

We enjoyed our stay here! The proximity to the beach and Duck downtown was great, we walked and biked to dinner and walk on the boardwalk. I found the descriptions to be accurate, as another reviewer mentioned, I would bring toiletries that you may want in addition to the basics, otherwise, the unit was very convenient.

The view - OMG!

The property was exactly what I was looking for. Ocean view, beach front, excellent accommodations. The owner was so responsive with the minor issues we had. I stayed there for 5 of the 7 days by myself before spouse joined me. Felt totally safe, comfortable. The fan in the bedroom scored bonus points with the spouse. The book with the restaurant suggestions and menus was very detailed and shows the thought taken into making the visit easier. The one thing and after going back to read amenities, only soap is provided. No shampoo, conditioner, body wash. I can't wait to come back. And thank you for making my birthday special.

Awesome stay!!

We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary in this beautiful ocean front condo. It exceeded all our expectations. Aside from no elevator, there isnt a thing we would change.

Great destination

Had a great long weekend in Duck. Lucked out on the weather. Three great beach days in April. As per the description, no elevator the third floor. Flip side, my 64 year old legs feel stronger.Loved the oceanfront deck. Nothing like small crowds during off season. Will recommend.

October getaway

My third October in a row in Duck NC in early October - first time in this condo. Really first class - everything I hoped it would be. Sorry to learn that next year this condo will only be available for weekly rentals instead of daily.

Amazing Anniversary Adventure

Exactly as advertised and more. Host was delightful and super responsive! Condo was very well appointed, especially the kitchen!! We actually lacked for nothing our entire stay. Stocked with linens, games, DVD's. Spectacular sunrise every morning from the elevated deck, it was so relaxing! We felt like the beach was our own personal space. Duck has such a cool beach vibe and is perfect for the party crowd and the family. We highly recommend the Penthouse!! Note to newcomers to the OBX - you can have some days with pretty steady straight line wind (10-15 mph), which is why the Wright Brothers chosen the OBX for their first flight. so bring a sweatshirt or windbreaker for the evenings.

Great view, clean condo, but needs some updates and changes

There are pros and cons when making a selection for your home for a week. The below is what is important to me and my family. 1. View 5/5 2. Cleanliness 5/5 3. Stocked kitchen 5/5 4. Pool 4/5 5. Safe location 5/5 There is room for improvement. I recommend updated appliances such as an ice maker and a stove without the electric coils. I find those stoves to be a fire risk for the guests and owners. I would also recommend updated toilets. The toilets appear to be the size for small children and not for average sized healthy adults. I would recommend purchasing a new mattress for the bedroom as the existing one is wore out and very uncomfortable. I would also recommend updating the decor and furnishings as all of it appears to be very outdated and not a coastal feel. If the above recommendations are made, I would return to this unit. As it is now, I will not.

Amazing!

What a beautiful location and a beautiful well-kept condo. Fully stocked with everything you would ever need. Super comfy bed and the recliner in the living room was perfect. And the view was spectacular as promised. Only downside as others have said are the 3 flights of stairs. Otherwise great!

Beachfront in a small town

The property was perfect for our stay. I had difficulty finding the property number, but that was due to vrbo itself. The condo is on the third floor, but it’s so close to the water, we didn’t mind. The kitchen was fully stocked and came in handy. We also enjoyed the use of having two bathrooms. Great stay, would love to visit again!

Exceptional Condo and Ocean View

The hosts were extremely kind , communication was excellent, they responded promptly to all of our question or needs. The condo is exceptionally clean and well taken care of. From the balcony a perfect view of the ocean. We highly recommend this condo.

Nice place on Beach

The place was convenient, basically clean except for T.V areas and some of the lamps. In main room and bedroom. One of the best stocked pots and pans! Good places for Sunrise and sunsets The biggest downside of this home on an actual 4th floor was no elevator! .
