Excellent communication from the host, very attentive to messages. Lovely location. The cabin is lovely inside and was toasty warm during the colder days of our stay. Views are stunning and perfect for viewing Northern lights on clear nights. The local convenience shop is a 5 minute drive away and you can also get fuel there.

Excellent cottage

For us, the property was excellent. The exact location we wanted for access to all the sites in the south. I found the owner to be very good about communication which I find to be the most important trait when renting a VRBO.

The best Christmas ever

The property was totally lovely, and very homely. The surroundings are totally beautiful, and communication was great and really straight forward. We would definitely stay again. Thank you so much for sharing your summer house with us over Christmas.

Great time at the cozy cabin

We stayed four nights here in January 2025. Had a wonderful time. Photos are accurate, and kitchen is well stocked. It feels like staying at a friendā€™s cabin. We caught the northern lights two out of four nights. Itā€™s a great base location to explore the Golden Circle sights. Vista Iā€™m from the porch is spectacular. We had a great time there and would definitely go back.

Extremely well furnished house

This might have been the nicest vrbo I've stayed in. We like to cook some of our meals at the house and there was a full array of cooking supplies. The whole house really felt like someone's house we were borrowing for a bit as oppose to a sterile bare bones rental. Fantastic view too!

Coziest cottage in wonderful surroundings

This charming, cozy summerhouse made us a warm home for a midweek. Amidst several highlights like the Geysir, KeriĆ° crater and ƞingvellir - but also in good driving distance of Reykjavik and the Seljalandsfoss waterfall. The hot tub was wonderful to relax in after a long day away in the cold and the large deck offered us a mesmerising view of aurora / Northern lights 3 out of 5 nights! When visiting Iceland again, weā€™ll most definitely return to Hulduheimar.

You'll never tire of the view

We spent a fabulous 5 days here in July. The cottage (chalet) was just what we needed. Comfortable, welcoming and in a great location for exploring south Iceland. And that view! It is spectacular, ever changing and it dominates the cottage.I took one star off because we could not get the hot tub to work and after six showers in quick succession the last showers were running out of hot water - although it was back again very quickly. That didn't diminish the other aspects and no one should make that the reason for not booking.We travelled all over including a mad day trip to JƶkulsĆ”rlĆ³n which was 8 hours drive and more than I'd recommend normally - but doable. However there is more than enough nearby to keep a family of 6 adults entertained for the day. Overall - highly recommended.
