Amanda, this is very unfortunate because days before you checked in I asked if you received the checkin details from Vrb and you responded yes. I am new to the platform and i thought it sent you the specific checkin details. Moving forward i will personally send the checkin details to each visitor so that there isn’t any confusion. I’m sorry you had a bad experience I let you come into my personal space a few times because of the confusion. As far as the music you are correct. I was seasoning up some food and played some music for about 10mins while i did that as you checked in. I will be more conscious of that in the future. Safe travels.

Regarding the issue with the door, it was unfortunately jammed due to mishandling by a previous guest. I communicated with you both via text and through the Vrbo platform before your arrival to make you aware of this and offer assistance, but you chose not to respond. As for the other concerns, the property is consistently maintained to a high standard, as reflected in the numerous 4 and 5-star reviews from other guests. The water system is uniform throughout the property, and no previous or subsequent guests have reported any issues with hot water. I strive to be a responsive and attentive host, and I always aim to address any concerns promptly. It’s disappointing that you left the property early without allowing me the opportunity to make things right during your stay. This guest was problematic from the moment of arrival. She did not read the clearly outlined check-in instructions sent well in advance, showed up at the wrong entrance, and then claimed she felt “unsafe” without making any real claims to Vrbo. The unit was clean, secure, and fully prepared—just as it has been for every other guest who left glowing reviews before and after her stay. Rather than communicate or ask for support, she left and initiated a credit card chargeback, effectively ghosting the reservation and causing financial damage. This guest abused the platform and the host-guest relationship. She should not be booking on Vrbo. I would strongly advise fellow hosts to avoid this guest altogether.
