The house is clean and cozy! We are a repeat stay and it was as good this time as the first. We have already secured it again next year! We used the hot tub every day and the fire pit every night. Plenty of outdoor space for family gathering and playing cards. It is far enough from town in the Shawnee National Forrest to not hear anything other than the train and the wildlife, but also an approximate 10-minute drive to Kroger. The host checked on us and remained responsive throughout. Thank you!

The house is very nice, not as big as pictured, but pictures aren't always accurate. The porch and ridge view are amazing with sunsets, nature sounds, and peaceful setting. A few hiccups but host was great about taking care of them!! Hot tub was wonderful and the kitchen is easy to cook and move around in. We took the upstairs bedroom and bathroom and it was nice. I also appreciated the nite lights throughout the first floor. If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful place with a nice view of nature this is a great place.

We were disappointed that the hot tub wasn’t working but the house was clean and everything else was great. They compensated us for the hot tub not working and were easy to communicate with. Five stars!

Beautiful property, clean throughout. Spent lots of time on covered deck, even through rainstorm! Hopefully will stay again. Few suggestions, some lamps in living and bedrooms would be an added bonus.

Fantastic place!

The house was clean and the property area was great! We loved sitting on the deck each morning and evening with our coffees and wine. We will definitely consider this place the next time we come to Carbondale!

Property and home were beautiful and very comfortable. View was gorgeous! Nice area for walking our furbaby. Well stocked kitchen with everything we needed to cook our large Thanksgiving meal. Enjoyed the awesome campfire and hot tub! Our host was always responsive and very helpful. We loved it and we’ll be back!!!

Everything was absolutely perfect for our wedding weekend of our son! From the amazing communication from the Host to the sunset in the backyard, we had an incredible stay! Great for a weekend couples getaway!

Three couples went to stay at the beautiful house and were in awe from moment we stepped in. It was so beautiful and clean. The views from the back porch and hot tub were so amazing. It was the perfect place to stay to do the wine trail. We appreciated all the communication from our host. Would definitely stay again.

Awesome views!

We arrived at the property and had the easiest time entering. We loved the views from the back decks. We enjoyed a rainy morning with hot coffee on the deck during our stay. The hosts provide everything you need for a short stay! Great location for the local wineries and hiking trails as well! Highly recommend!

Peaceful and Scenic Location Close to Lakes and Town

Very nice location perched on top of bluffs and at lease one shelter bluff that Indians once used. Ideal location for getting to lakes for fishing and close to town for awesome pizza. The house itself is set up very nicely, especially with the lower and upper decks, focking chairs, fire pit and enjoyable nature. Will return again for sure.

Great Rental!

We had 7 lively women who wanted to not only celebrate a 60th birthday but also relive our SIU days! This property was perfect. One Queen bed upstairs, twin and queen downstairs. Spacious bathrooms including one with dual shower stalls. Lots of space and outdoor space was so peaceful. Very close to all things Carbondale!

Girls weekend fun

This was a great place for our girls trip. We enjoyed the beautiful view, large gathering space in the great room, and comfortable sleeping quarters! This location was great for hiking nearby, many restaurants, and access to anything you need! We loved eating on the porch, relaxing in the hot tub, and sitting on the patio in the rocking chairs, looking out at the scenery. Easy access and direction as well as a wonderful guide for our stay sent to us upon booking (so much helpful info for planning a great trip in southern Illinois).

Beautiful, comfortable home!

We rented this property for a quick girls weekend. There were 5 of us and we all had plenty of space. Everyone said their bed was comfortable. I loved the mix of indoor and outdoor gathering areas, and the view was so nice! The property owner did a great job of communicating and when I had questions, she responded quickly. Great stay!

Southern Getaway

We visited this property as an extended family: parents, (2) sets of adult children and spouses, and 2 small children. We had plenty of space, and the property was wonderful! We had a bonfire going the whole time, we spent time in the hot tub, and the living space was large enough we could all hang out inside when needed. Only thing I would ask is for a grill! Otherwise the place had everything we could've needed!
