This was such a beautiful home! My boyfriend and I had an amazing time. There is a waffle bar, which was absolutely amazing and so good! It was such a cozy experience for the winter time, but I’m sure it would be a beautiful property in the summer as well!

Super clean, cute, convenient home in Franklin. Recently renovated and perfect for a getaway. Has every amenity you could/ would need! We loved the outdoor sitting area and the view is breathtaking! I would highly recommend this home!!!!

Peaceful

My husband and I wanted to come to Vernago county to bike and hike. It was a bonus that this cottage is literally down the road to the Samuel Justice Bike trail that runs right into the Allegheny trail. The cottage is comfortable and peaceful. The decor is inviting and the hostess thought of everything. We particularly enjoyed the gift basket of goodies and the waffle bar! I loved getting up in the morning and sitting on the deck and watching the sun sparkle on the river.We had a wonderful weekend here in Franklin and at this beautiful cottage.

Relaxing Weekend

My wife and I had a wonderful weekend trip. The space is cozy and perfect for a couple wanting to relax. The host, Julie, was fantastic with communication. The welcome basket was a great touch (we were able to use some coupons to local eateries) as was the waffle bar! The host provided everything needed for a stress free trip. If you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful space for a trip, look no further!

Great and cozy hidden gem!

We were looking for a little weekend getaway and to enjoy the fall scenery this time of year. This cottage was absolutely perfect. It was comfortable and cozy. The place was well stocked with anything you could need including some little snacks left from the host. We thoroughly enjoyed the backyard. The back porch with outdoor tv, seating area and fire table was our favorite. We hope to visit again someday! Thanks for a beautiful cottage and stay!

Cute and Cozy

The cottage was absolutely adorable! It was the perfect size for two people. It was all decorated for Fall, which I thought was very sweet and very thoughtful. If you're a kayaker, there's a place to launch because the yard goes all the way down to the water. The cottage is located 10 minutes from Walmart, but you'd never know it because of the cute, quiet neighborhood. There's lots of local shops to check out and a farmers market on Saturday all within walking distance (2-3 blocks). The host was always available and even gave us diner recommendations for breakfast. We will definitely stay here again!

Comfort Cottage

I love the location. For my purpose, it was very convenient to anything I did. There were actually more amenities than I needed or used. As an older female traveling alone I appreciated the quiet neighborhood but also liked the comfort of folks nearby even though I did not interact with them.

Fabulous

This place is an absolute gem that I happened upon and boy am I glad I did!! It is perfect for a couple getaway and had all the amenities you would need. It was very clean and the property was something to behold!! The view of the Allegheny River while sipping a cup of coffee was the perfect way to start your morning and ending your day on the back porch with a fire was a perfect ending!! I would highly recommend this cottage!! The hosts were responsive and accommodating and you won’t be disappointed!

My favorite home stay of all time!!

Agape Cottage is my dream home. It’s right on Allegheny River with access to launch your canoe or kayak from the front of the house. A boat launch for motor boats is less than a block away. The outdoor space is amazing - we relaxed, made a fire, and looked at the stars. Fans provided coolness on these very hot days. The inside is spotless. It seems that the owner bought this cottage a few years ago and did a major reno. Beautifully decorated and comfortable. We took full advantage of the waffle bar is provided including a waffle iron, mix and oil. The bed was comfy, and the mattress was soft which I love. Linens and towels were of excellent quality. The area is perfect for walking and exploring. The Allegheny River Bike trail is just a short ride away and you can either ride or drive to the Sandy Creek Trail which is beautiful and shaded. I didn’t want to leave!

We came up for the Franklin blues and barbecue festival for the second year. Last year we stayed in a B & B, which has since closed. We found the Agape Cottage on Vrbo. Well it was well named as we were both agape as we walked down the stairs, and saw the great deck and view of the river. It’s a beautiful, covered patio with a TV, overlooking the river with a fire pit below. Inside was even better, with a great little kitchen, living area, and nice accommodations upstairs. These folks really went out of their way to provide all the little conveniences, including coffee, a waffle bar, cushions everywhere, and such a friendly attentive host. We watched tons of kayakers, floating on the river, the bike trail on the other side, and really enjoyed the beautiful little town of Franklin. It’s a really special place. I have done my research and I am sure he will find nothing better than this in Franklin. Thanks to our house for great communication and an awesome time! .

Cutest little cottage

Wow! Everything about the cottage exceeded my expectations. Julie thought of everything to make the stay easy and comfortable. The covered patio was so relaxing. She was very good at communicating and checking in yo see if we needed anything. I highly recommend staying here, not one complaint.

Great place to stay!

What a truly terrific cottage! We were in the area for a wedding and found this little gem. The bedroom is a nice size, and some of the other rooms are a little smaller. However, there is more than enough room for two or three people to get around without bumping into each other. The owner, Julia, has done an outstanding job of decorating and has added a few complementary items to make your stay all the more special. The outside is a big WOW! Both decks are well designed, comfortable, and the view of the Allegheny River is beautiful! Julia responds very quickly to any questions you may have. She even has a suggestion list hanging in the kitchen of places to see, things to do, and places to eat. Also, in a previous review, Julia mentioned adding a TV and hot tub. The TV has been installed on the deck. Although a hot tub would be great, we wouldn’t hesitate to rent here again, with or without the hot tub!

Lovely weekend

College friends visiting a third friend who lives in Franklin. Convenient to the business area and our friend’s home. Charming decor, with attention to the comfort of guests. Coffee/tea/hot chocolate bar was a much appreciated touch. We were sorry it wasn’t a touch warmer as the decks and seating areas were alll very inviting, but we managed several opportunities to chat outside while enjoying the view of the water and birds. If we return to Franklin we would definitely check availability of the cottage. The name Agape Cottage is especially appropriate as we felt welcome and cared for.

Relaxing weekend get-away

Impromptu weekend get-away in this little cottage is just what the doctor ordered! Communication with the owners was absolutely phenomenal only to be topped by their attention to detail and the little above & beyond’s that they offered. The cottage is a bit small in size but perfect for a couple looking for a short retreat. It offered all the commodities needed plus some! The kitchen was well stocked with every appliance you may need in addition to your basic spices & condiments. The coffee/tea bar was complimented by everything needed to make your own waffles, eggs & English muffins. The bathroom had all the essentials as well. The bedroom was clean, cozy, and offered nice linens (I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to sheets & pillows so that’s a pretty high compliment). The nicest surprise was the outdoor space- set right along the river, there is plenty of opportunity to take in the views. On the top floor, there is a deck which was calling to have morning coffee had the weather been better. In addition, the beautiful back yard has a covered deck area with tables, chairs, a gas fire table, plenty of outdoor games, a well stocked wood pile, and even its own morning dove making its home in the little ficus tree in the corner. It also has a fire pit with chairs directly overlooking the serenity of River & the landscape beyond. If you have desire to explore beyond the cottage, the owners offered an abundance of great tips to top off the weekend. Definitely recommend!!!

Just what we needed

This little cottage along the river is just what we needed for a weekend getaway without kids. The place was obviously well taken care of and decorated nicely. Julie made sure to check in with us a couple times to make sure we had what we needed. Highly recommend!
