Relaxing peaceful cabin retreat

Our cabin is located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in the gated community of River Country Estates, Piney Creek NC. We named our cabin River Perch because it sits perched high atop the mountain side giving you beautiful views of the river and long range views of the mountains. You can get away from all the busyness to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the mountains. Our cabin is newly constructed , 2100 sq. ft. with 3 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. Main level has family/living room, kitchen, 1/2 bath, bedroom with queen bed and private bath. The upper level has a loft with sitting/reading area, bedroom with queen bed and private bath. Lower level has the second family/living area, bedroom with two twin beds, full bath, utility room with washer & dryer. Cabin has new furniture & stainless steel appliances in kitchen. Main level living area has a wood burning stone fireplace. Lower living area has a gas stone fireplace. Flat screen televisions in both family rooms and lower bedroom. There are two spacious covered wrap around decks to enjoy the mountain views and the sound of the gentle flowing river. With access to the New River (second oldest river in the world) you can launch a canoe, go tubing, or just float down the beautiful scenic river. You are nearby River Camp USA and riverside canoe rentals. Other attractions nearby are winery tours, Mount Jefferson State Park, Stone Mountain State Park, and Grayson Highland State Park. To just get away for awhile you can visit attractions at these nearby towns (Sparta 15 miles, Jefferson & West Jefferson 22 miles, Boone 47 miles.)
River Perch is the perfect cabin rental for your getaway or vacation. Please make our home your mountain home away from home.

What a wonderful weekend. We enjoyed the mountain views, with all the windows and the many outside seating options. We particularly appreciated the well-stocked kitchen, and the two different living areas. Lovely gated community but cabin is surrounded by beautiful trees and feels secluded.The home is warm and inviting and I'd love to return one day. Mary, the host, made communication a breeze.

Family Get Away

We go to NC every year and have stayed in serval cabins and this by far has been the most beautiful and well maintained cabin. Very spacious, and most importantly clean. Highly recommend this cabin! The highlight for me was waking up each morning and seeing the deer grazing in the backyard.

Such a blessing!

This cabin is a beautiful retreat in the mountains! The host, Mary, was very helpful and tremendously kind leading up to and during my stay. I had to leave the cabin early due to the unexpected experience of Hurricane Helene. I really hope to book this cabin again in the future. It is a perfect mountain retreat!

Great Cabin with Everything You Need

This cabin is in a beautiful gated community . There is a nice covered wraparound deck with views of the New River. The cabin is well furnished and the Cupboards are nicely stocked. The owners are very friendly and accommodating.

Hiking family

The property and neighborhood is beautiful. The house is elevated over the river with an amazing view. The house has very comfy beds and 4 bathrooms. We enjoyed the board games. There was quite a lack of grocery stores or restaurants close by. We made sure to get supplies while we were out on our excursions. We highly recommend Grayson Highlands and biking the VA creeper trail.

Beautiful cabin, great view from the terrace, very well equipped.

We stayed at the River Perch last year and fell in love with the beauty and tranquility of the cabin and its surroundings. So we came back this year and were not disappointed. The cabin was as nice as we remembered it. We cannot wait to return.

River Perch is Awesome!

Second time we have stayed at River Perch and plan to come back next year. Beautiful home and view, well stocked, comfortable home. We love the area eventhough it is a bit far from towns which confuses GPS some.

Peaceful stay

We had a wonderful visit and the views were amazing. First day after arriving we were greeted with a beautiful rainbow. It was very peaceful. Be sure to bring your toiletries and washing detergent it was not provided. The cabin was very clean. There were several light bulbs burned out. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Lovely, Clean, and Awesome View

We stayed at the Manning House for 2 nights while we attended a family event. It's a lovely house with a great view. We were pleseantly surprised at the ammenities the Host provided. I would definitely stay there again and most likely will again next year once I know the event date.

Beautiful Cabin

The cabin was very nice and well equipped. The location was convenient for our needs and it was in a nice neighborhood. Our favorite thing was the view of the river from the deck.

We purchased River Perch cabin as our personal vacation home in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We named our home River Perch because the cabin literally sits perched atop the mountain side offering beautiful views of the river and mountains. It is our peaceful and stress free destination to relax and unwind. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

We had looked at several homes in nearby towns of the Blue Ridge Mountains and this actually was the very last property on our list.
Once we stepped on the porches and walked to the back of the cabin , we just stood and admired the beautiful views of the river and mountains. We knew this was the one for us.
We love the privacy of the cabin , but also the security of being in a gated community. We also chose this area because our travel time from home is less than 5 hrs.

Our cabin is the perfect private getaway to unwind and relax and to just take in the beautiful views. It is also located in close proximity to several nearby towns and attractions for those who would like to get away for the day. There are canoe & tube rentals nearby. state parks to visit, winery tours , historic sites, quaint shops to browse in, Ashe County Cheese Factory and store in West Jefferson, farmers markets nearby, and many other attractions.
