Wake in the mornings to the sound of loons on the glass-calm water and the first glow of Higgins Lake sunrises. Sip your fresh coffee on the deck as the sun comes up over South Bay. Higgins Lake offers spectacular sunrises from your own private dock, the shore, the deck, or the dining area facing east. Friendly shore that’s great for kids; sandbox at the water’s edge with toys. Private dock + mooring buoy (seasonal) for your boat. Evenings mean s’mores by the waterfront fire pit, northern lights and a sky full of stars from the dock!

Cook, gather, unwind:
A chef-ready kitchen (full cookware, bakeware, prep tools) plus coffee provided, and basic oils & spices. Open living/dining gives the kids space to play upstairs while dinner simmers. Quality bed linens, fluffy bath towels, and a propane grill make it easy to settle in. Adirondack chairs & towels and s’mores sticks are stocked for the shoreline. Grill out on the deck and serve golden-hour dinners just steps from the water!

Four seasons of fun:
Summer boating and tubing, crisp-air hikes, and nearby ORV/snowmobile trails. We’re open year-round with plowed access—bring your tip-ups for ice fishing or plan a snowy sledding day. The lake delivers in every season. The dock and boat mooring buoy are installed May 1st through October 1st. Higgins Lake winter waterfront: an excellent home base to enjoy the holidays, fish the ice, ride the trails, ski XC. Cozy-up in the evenings by the gas fireplace enjoying cups of hot cocoa!

Lake attributes:
• Shoreline: firm, pebbly entry that turns sandy a few steps out—great for wading and floating—but not a traditional sand beach
• Dock: ~50’ with end platform
• Depth: About waist-deep at the end of the dock (varies with water levels)
• Boats: Tie up at the mooring buoy (set in at least 36" of water; suitable for deep-V drafts)
• Kids: gentle depth drop-off and sandbox + toys at the shoreline

For families & remote workers:

Good to know:
Large yard with natural underbrush between nearby homes for a sense of privacy. A pedestrian path runs between the house and shoreline (foot traffic only), so you’ll occasionally see walkers going by—but only guests have access to the yard, shoreline and dock. Electronic lock for smooth self-check-in. We give guests space but are available if you need anything.
