Come stay with us on Higgins Lake, the 6th most beautiful lake in the world according to National Geographic. Our cottage is private, it's on 1/4 acre of land with 160 ft. of beach frontage, we have boat mooring and lots of parking. We're on the southern part - "small lake" It's the most sought-after area because of its calmer waters, the sandy beach and shallow waters loved by families. We are across from the South State Park, a short drive from our cottage. We have a dock and a patio with patio furniture, picnic table, hammock, and loveseat swing. Our local convenience store and two great restaurants are in walking distance. All bedrooms have views of the lake, we have knotty pine walls in the dining room, sitting room and family room with wrap-around windows facing the lake; a small library of books and videos; games; Our cottage has a real "up north" feel- it's rustic, full of character and very comfortable. It's been in our family for over 80 years. It is not a renovated cottage, but we include many conveniences for your comfort (see amenities) and we keep it very clean. We are in a rural area at a lake so sometimes but very infrequently you may find harmless insects or a spider so if you are insect-phobic then a lake cottage would not be the best choice for you. As an owner I was afraid as a young child, so be sure lake living works if you have young children. We will be your personal concierge about Higgins Lake and the surrounding areas. This cottage is a great value for those who are looking for rustic, or those who want to pass on the higher costs of a fully renovated cottage which commands resort pricing. Our cottage is well taken care of and it has a wonderful layout both inside and out including lots of land. Wifi is included. Please ONLY send us

PS We have discounted fall and spring prices some years except for holiday weeks or holiday weekends when we are not booked and we are not using our home and are open to negotiating on our summer prices if it is only a few days in advance of your arrival date as well when we have days that are not filled, so be sure to ask!
