We had a large family that stayed at the house during my daughter's wedding weekend. The location, size, layout, everything about the house was perfection. We loved the open living room, dining room, and kitchen as well as the deck. The beds and bedding were so comfortable. We asked several questions prior to our arrival and received prompt responses. We had an amazing time.

We were five adults from two generations and had plenty of room to spread out and also to gather. Think "big beach house." The house was clean and well equipped, and Nathaniel was very responsive, helpful with restaurant recommendations, etc. There is some road noise, but the house is set well back and up the hill from the road. The location is excellent for visiting Rockport, Rockland, Camden. All services very close. Access the beach at the public park at the south end of the lake.

Excellent

I had a bad experience with another house in Camden, but the Gorgeous House was wonderful. There was plenty of room for a family of twelve to move around in. I would highly recommend this to friends and family.

Suggestions for the property: Replace mattresses in rooms 2,3&4; clean gas grill & kitchen oven; attenuate road noise into master bedroom; schedule lawn service for Saturday after checkout vs 0745am during stay. Add a note in the listing: Access to the lake is very difficult given the "road" in front of the property is a major road and heavily traveled.

Cabin Weekend

A girls weekend in Maine at a lovely house. The space was exactly what we needed, homey, cozy, and comfy. There was plenty of room to play games together, or spend some time by ourselves. Amenities were excellent and the kids play room was so cute and well liked by the kiddos!!

Needs some basics

Overall, it’s a nice spot but it’s in desperate need of that home away from home feel. For instance, there was no left over oils or spices or anything along that line, so ones forced to go purchase the basics. Be nice if the kitchen had a serving platter and more than one dish towel. The wine glasses are plastic. Just be nice if there was more thought put towards these areas to help one feel more at home while away. Folks cook in these VRBO spots. Helping us out a little with basic supplies is always really really appreciated. Towels. Need more than one towel per person. Some bath soap again would be helpful. Basics that really don’t cost that much can sure help one feel more comfortable.Owner was responsive and seemed to be a good guy.

Family weekend getaway

The property accommodated our family of 11 just as we’d hoped. The open floor plan was perfect for all to be together but space enough to do separate activities. The littles loved the play room! Close to many activities and restaurants. A beautiful view of the lake. Nathan was very responsive and accommodating. We had a wonderful stay; highly recommend this property.

Wonderful stay - everything you need

We went on a girls trip and explored the coast of Maine for the first time with two 60 year olds, 3 women in their 20s/30s and 2 infants. This house was perfect and had everything we needed for babies. Lots of room for them to crawl. Super clean. Well stocked with games, cleaner, dishes. Great rental; will definitely recommend to friends!

Lovely Home in a Fantastic Location

The home is absolutely beautiful! We really enjoyed all the light in the morning. The accommodations are very comfortable - plenty of linens and towels (love that it was included!). We have enjoyed mid-coast Maine many times and this location was perfect for slipping into Camden or Rockland for dinner/breakfast. We took day trips to Pemiquid and Marshall Point and even Monhegan Island. The house was perfect for having a lobster bake (tip - get the lobster pre-steamed at Hannaford). Many wonderful memories made at this lovely home!

Lake Chicawaukee Cottage

Upon entering this beautiful property I noticed how clean and organized the property was kept.It is very well appointed and offers all you need for a comfortable stay. We were a family of ten and it accommodated us all well with bedrooms and baths. We enjoyed the solo stove most evenings and the gas fire pit on the back patio as well. The kids play area for our two year old grandson was a big hit. The beamed ceilings and extensive wood work created a lovely setting for this home. The property is set up high and back from the main road which was good since the road can get busy. We loved our stay. Each drive to Camden and Rockland. We did enjoy using the owners paddle board at Lake Chicauwkee

Great space

The Kitchen & living area on the second level was very well equipped and comfortable. The adjacent playroom for the kids was great. The bunkbeds were on the ground floor and the other bedrooms on 2nd and 3rd levels. The air conditioning also worked very well. The location was perfect

Beautiful centrally located home

Nathaniel was super hospitable and easy to communicate with. The house was close to everything we wanted to do (Rockport/Rockland, Camden harbor and Mt. Battie, Pemaquid Beach, Damariscotta). Would definitely return! House is also stocked with tons of fun games and dominos and several TVs, a lofted office space, and very functional kitchen!
