Enjoy peaceful river views from the screened in porches of this cottage which is located in Broomes Island, Maryland. Close to Solomon's Island, Maryland, this home has all the amenities you need for a relaxing stay. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms for use with a full working kitchen, two separate screened in porches with comfortable chairs and table for eating outside. Included on property is a private pier that stretches out into the river. Enjoy fishing or crabbing early in the morning or late into the evening. Or sit on the porches and enjoy a good book in a quiet setting!
Home is conveniently located close to other prominent areas such as Washington, D.C., Solomons Island and Patuxent River, MD. Plenty of history as well as parks to explore in the surrounding area!

We arrived right at sunset, and pulling into the driveway was absolutely breathtaking! The location is outstanding, and the house itself was clean, well-stocked, and charmingly quaint.There were a couple of small drawbacks worth mentioning: some items were left behind in the shower from previous renters (body wash and scrunchies), which made me feel the need to re-clean the bathroom. Additionally, the house had plug-in room fresheners in nearly every room—something to keep in mind if you have sensitivities, as I found them overwhelming & had to unplug them.That said, once we settled in, we truly enjoyed our stay. Sitting on the porch watching boats crabbing and making use of the dock were definite highlights.PS - there was a beautiful TNR kittie roaming around which appeared as though someone had been feeding it. It was very skittish & wouldn't let us near her. If you book here take a few kitten treats with you! Would I recommend this home to others? Absolutely—100%! You won’t be disappointed.

This house made our family bonding great. Together we did star gazing, crabbing, and had a crab feast.
Caught 10 crabs 1st night, then 15, 18, and 24 4th night
EZ crabbing using strings, net pole, and chicken thigh as bait
Crab feast every lunch. The screened porch with nice view, ceiling fan and long table with benches made our dining together memorable
Star gazing is awesome, the place is quiet, we feel secure, and the amenities in and out of the house is more than enough

Cozy river cottage

Nice house with 2 wonderful screened in porches (one at the main entrance and the other off the living room facing the water) Fully stocked kitchen . However, the only air conditioning was in the 2 bedrooms, not really reaching to the living room and kitchen. The linens were left on the bed!!! The second bathroom was off the front porch. The owner was one of the best to work with.,

Nice and peaceful

We were here for work, working 7 12 hour days. The owners or number listed are responsive, not that there were many questions but wanted to let them know we had arrived, and that garbage was ready to be taken out. It was nice to enjoy after 12 hours of work, the screened in porches are real nice, would be a really nice place for a family getaway, plenty of space to seat people for meals. We will stay here again if working in the area

Fall Vacation

Overall, the property was excellent, and I highly recommend this to others. There were a few things that we were concerned with such as, there is no safe ladder or a stairway going down to the water if we were to bring our kayaks. Little more accuracy as to where the key was stored when we first got there. There was not a drying rack for the dishes or towel rack in the bathroom. Also, the tub was slick, so we purchased a bathmat to use. Still overall, we really like the house and the location and may return again next year.

Bachelor party weekend

We stayed here for my bachelor party in Solomon’s. The place was spotless and very well organized. The owner was very nice and helpful. I loved staying there and having a nice porch to hang out on and the pier was a nice added bonus to fish.

Great location and peaceful

We’ve been coming to Calvert County for a number of years, but typically stay at hotels. This time we decided to try something different and stay on the water. We were not disappointed! We had some hot days during our stay and the house was a perfect break from the heat, while providing much more comfort than a hotel room. We caught some nice sized crabs off the dock using hand lines. We definitely recommend this house for your trip to Calvert County!

Waterfront Unwind

This property was one of 5 the four of us considered renting for 3 nights while visiting with family in the area. We were a little cautious since it is so new on the rental market. We definitely made the right choice! Some of the best parts: Unwinding on the back porch looking out over the Patuxent River as the crabbing boats worked their lines. Watching the full moon rise over the water from the end of the dock. Laying in the hammock, listening to the waves lap at the bulkhead.

Home is located on Island Creek across from Broomes Island. This home is on an island itself in direct views of the water. Most of the homes on this section of what they refer to as "Broomes Island" are owned by extended family. A very small community. Very quiet atmosphere for relaxation!

Property has been remodeled and a new pier installed. Home faces the water and has two screened in porches which offer views of the river. Quiet atmosphere to get away from all the noises of the world!
