Watch the sun and the moon rise over the Delaware Bay from this quiet, comfortable beachfront retreat. This easy-going cottage offers a laid-back place to celebrate life, especially for those who travel with their dogs.

Cook your favorite meals in our full kitchen, already supplied with spices and condiments, or go out to a decadent meal in one of the area's gourmet restaurants. The beach resort offers numerous activities from golf and watersports to theater and tax-free shopping, all within a few minutes' drive, but this is the place you want to call home at the end of the day.

Enjoy the romance of a candlelit evening in front of the cast-iron stove in winter, a bonfire on your private beach in summer if the wind is right, or just a simple moment of solitude wandering along the water's edge in any season. Retreat to your bedroom (one queen, one double bed) and fall asleep with the sound of the waves lapping the shore.

There's one full bath and, in summer, an outdoor shower to comfortably rinse off the salt and sand. You can also hook up a quick-connect hose to rinse off your pup with warm water.

Only two hours from Baltimore, Washington and Philadelphia, yet a world away from the stress and hassles. Escape the hustle of your work week with a relaxing weekend.

Take time to rest, to play. Make time for yourself, and for those you love. Come to the Cottage at Prime Hook Beach, where we provide all the basics for your comfort.

Guests to provide linens, towels, blankets, paper and soap products, but feel free to reach out for a quote if you would like any of these items provided for you. Guest to sign an agreement to follow rules & policies.

This waterfront home was clean, welcomed our dog and felt like home. The kitchen was well equipped. We particularly loved the enclosed porch. Perfect spot for meals, relaxing, watching the ships and sunrises.

This location is perfect for anyone looking for a complete getaway. The beach access was perfect, but the beach is natural, which meant dead horseshoe crabs and seaweed all over. It was fun watching the sand crabs move across the beach. There were other people on the beach but no one close by which was wonderful! My two dogs loved it and stayed on the beach with us all day. Make sure you pick up anything you need for meals, as there is nothing closer than 20 minutes away. There was a variety of spices in the kitchen and the cottage was clean. They also had extra dog bowls, leashes and toys for the pups which was an added bonus. We did enjoy our stay and hope to return next year!

Very disappointed in our stay. From the start, the booking process was a hassle and sub par. Chalked it up as being a busy time of year. When we arrived, we notice that the floors in the bedrooms are just painted plywood sub floor. All the dirty rugs from the previous tenants were left on top of the washer by the front door. The floors were sticky… Moving on to the bathroom. Extremely small. Water pressure and hot water were great! Cobwebs and spiders in the corners. Have to shimmy sideways by the sink to get to the toilet. Watch your knees when you sit down. I don’t usually mind close quarters and insects but wasn’t planning on camping when reserving this beach cottage… will not be staying again.

Prime hook stay

Easy check in. Clean yet the couch was damp. Low tide is the best to be at the beach. Beautiful view!

Beautiful secluded location! Cozy cottage located on the Delaware Bay beach side. Location is close to Milton and there you will find everything you need - grocery, drug store, Family Dollar, restaurants, etc. Cottage was small but for our group of three - perfectly adequate. Be aware - the bathroom is tight, especially the toilet area, but the shower was more spacious and the water temperature hot and the water pressure was great! It felt wonderful after a day at the beach. The outdoor shower was also great and had hot water - a plus in my book. We've stayed on the Delaware bay many times (Slaughter, Broadkill, etc.) so were familiar with and prepared for the horseshoe crabs, occasional biting flies and bay water. We spent two days walking out the back and walking to the beach and floating in the bay (at high tide). The dogs loved it and I should mention it is a very dog friendly location. The fenced in yard is NOT adequate for larger dogs or dogs that like to investigate or are a bit mischievous. It is really only thin pickets with two thin wires holding everything together. We tethered our dogs after we realized the fence was not too sturdy. The outbuilding with a small enclosed porch was wonderful and we spent a few mornings and nights rocking and talking with a great view of the water. The gas grill worked great and we took advantage of it as well as the decently appointed kitchen. All in all I would definitely recommend this location!

loved from beginning to the end.... perfect.... clean.... sun rises amazing! quiet but very friendly....my furries loved the fenced yard... mostly..my elder blind and deaf one....3. will book again! and interior decorations...so loved!

We had a great time. We brought our 3 girls, {dogs} & they loved the beach, as we did. The house was great too. It was bigger than I thought. We are planning on staying here again.

Delaware Bay Beach House Review

Loved the property, the location and access to the beach, the kitchen set up and view from the porch. Beds were very comfortable. The place wasn't dirty, but there were many cobwebs and daddy long leg spiders in the bathroom and it appeared that the place was not thoroughly cleaned prior to our arrival. We did book the place on short notice. Property managers were helpful in resolving some check in issues which was appreciated. The bathroom is one negative - it's very tight spacewise. Overall a very nice stay. Enjoyed the nice Weber BBQ too!

Really cute, on the beach house. The dogs loved it, everything was so pet friendly and relaxed. The house was fully stocked and had everything we needed, we can't wait to go back. Thanks for a great New Year's Eve weekend.

Wonderful time and well taken care of at Primehook Beach!!

We really enjoyed our stay in Primehook Beach! The beach house was clean, in great condition and stocked with essentials. The location is great, right on the beach and with the little single road to walk on. We REALLY appreciated how dog friendly the owner and the community is too. It allows us to travel once a year with our whole family. I just simply can not say enough positive things about this house, the owner and the people at the property management company. They were all concerned for our well being and enjoyment, and we really appreciated it! They helped to make our vacation and success. We intend to return again and to this exact house! Thank you!

Great dig friendly cottage on the beach

The house was adorable, bigger than I thought it would be! Very comfortable for 4 people and dogs. The bathroom is small but no biggie. The fenced in yard was a huge bonus although the gates are a little jankity. Overall it was great and we would definitely stay there again..so peaceful!

We enjoyed a very relaxing week with our dogs in this cozy beach cottage! Would definitely recommend. It’s not close to stores so plan a day to load up on your supplies but once you’re set you’re set!

Quite relaxing vacation

This cottage was plenty large enough for my wife and I, plus our 5 y/o son and dog. 2 bedrooms, a large kitchen, living room was large enough, but the furniture was a bit beat. The beach is right outside your door. Access could not be better. The beach does get covered with sea weed and dead horseshoe crabs. This attracts black flies and mosquitoes. It can be quite annoying. The flies were all through your house and they will take over your vehicle if you leave the windows down. On the beach, the flies/mosquitoes were really only a nuisance in the evening. During our stay it rained nonstop for two days. This caused the beach/water to be filled with sediment which added another attractant for flies and mosquitoes. Also the heavy rain caused the septic to slightly overflow into the yard leaving a foul odor. However, this occurred Friday evening and really did not impact our stay. The overall location is nice for privacy but it is a good 20-30 minutes to entertainment/ dining. For the price, access to beach, and a dog friendly house with a fenced in yard, it was worth the trip. I will likely comeback to this location in the off season when the bugs are less of an issue.

Amazing, hope to come back!

This place was perfect! So comfortable and very dog friendly. Lots of extra leashes, water bowls, and toys for the dogs. Very comfortable bed. Plenty of kitchen utensils and pots for cooking. Beautiful porch with view of the ocean, and such a short walk to the amazing beach. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Great first trip to this area, just me and the dogs, we all had a great time.

Loved the location very secluded, and peaceful, lots of wildlife. The dogs loved it! It was really nice to have the fenced area the porch was trebly nice with lots of windows that open. Loved being right on the beach with very short distance to walk to water.

This cottage with a fully-glassed in porch overlooking the Delaware Bay makes you feel as if you are outdoors year-round. The open floor plan affords a view of the water from the back door, through the kitchen and living room, to the front porch.

Guests describe the feeling of tranquility that begins the moment they leave the highway and wind their way through the 5 miles of fields and forest and marshes of the Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge.

Prime Hook Beach is a lovely community, close enough to upscale restaurants and tax-free shopping at the outlets, but far enough away to feel like you are in another era.

Having a private, sandy beach right at your front door allows you to set up your stuff for the day, and be able to easily pop in and out of the house for a cold drink, lunch, your favorite paperback, another dog toy.

When the wind is right, you can have a bonfire or just lay back and watch as the stars come out. You can take sleeping bags out to spend the night watching the mid-August sky for shooting stars or enjoy watching (from the shelter of the porch) the occasional summer thunderstorm sweep across the bay, the rain dancing on the tin roof.
