The Hiding Place has it all, including modern decor and a kitchen with all granite countertops. Tucked into the corner of a quiet cul-de-sac (with room for extra vehicles), this lovely vacation home offers privacy that is a rare find on the Outer Banks.

The private pool and hot tub are almost completely out of view of the neighbors due to mature trees and shrubs. Enjoy the outdoor sound system while grilling, playing basketball, swimming in the private pool or playing on your own shuffleboard court.

The Hiding Place is well-stocked with movies, books, games and puzzles for all ages- including a toy box for young children. Take the kayak to the bay for a paddle (PFCs provided). Under the home is a spacious area for shaded activities on a hot afternoon or rainy day.
Don't forget to walk to the pond- the turtles love cereal!

You even have access to the famed Currituck Club Public Golf Course. Schedule a tee time at least two weeks in advance. Community tennis is also nearby!

Only 2000 feet to the beach in Section J of Ocean Sands.

Grocery store right down the road. The house is cozy but very open so it never felt like we were crowded. It was a lovely place, clean, had everything we needed for cooking. The house itself is nice, loved all the accommodations. Toys, board games, pool, all the things. But the cleanliness of the house was poor. Ants everywhere, and the drier was broken. They did replace it, but did not notify us they did so, and we were not at the house when they did so. The rental office was definitely not the friendliest, and really actually upset me. All in all vacation/house was great. But definitely need a good cleaning and look over for repairs.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a quiet house at the end of a cul-de-sac. The house is nicely decorated with comfortable furniture and a well stocked kitchen. All of the cabinets were labeled which we found very helpful. Our kids loved the pool, games and toys at the house. We were pleasantly surprised with all of the beach supplies and baby supplies at the house as well. I enjoyed the outdoor picnic table for family dinners. We did find the beds uncomfortable and noisy but nothing unexpected for a rental home. The house is a long long hike from the beach access but we went to the 4x4 beach so this was not an issue for us. If you want a quiet house and do not mind being a bit of a distance from the beach this is a perfect house.

The hiding place

We loved this house!! It was SO cute and just the perfect amount of room for us all. We loved the pool and hot tub. The upstairs tvā€™s didnā€™t work which was frustrating. I loved that they had everything we needed for the kids. I just wish I would have known that they had everything so I wouldnā€™t have brought it. (Highchair, toys, sand toys, packnplay, etc)

This home had the perfect floor plan, location, amenities, outdoor space, and location for us! The pictures do not do it justice for it is much better. Perfect for family time, individual time while others are close by. The pool was delightful! Thank you for a wonderful OBX vacation!

It's OK...

Reviewer Comments: We stayed in this house for summer vacation the week of 7/6/23-7/13/23. There were 9 of us (5 adults, 4 kids). House was clean upon arrival. All of the beds were comfortable - with the exception of 1 of the twin beds - my 11 year old said her bed was hard. The pool is nice, but could use some upgrading (paint, fix the pool stairs, etc. - nothing that kept us from using it, though). Also - the pump in the pool stopped working for 3 days, so the water stated getting really gross. We called the rental company for 3 days straight and they were very passive about the whole thing and blamed the pool company. When the pool guy finally showed up for his weekly maintenance, he said he never got a call from the rental office and he could've been there the 1st day we called. So someone obviously dropped the ball. All in all - cute house and you can't beat the price. We reserved it again for 2024.

The advertisement says there is a sleeper sofa but there is not. House only has 6 beds, we had 7 guests. The dishwasher was full when we arrived but the dishes were clean. Ice maker was broken and a repairman came early in the week to fix it but it still didn't work. I would rent the home again if there was another bed. Keyless entry would also be nice. It isn't easy to stop in Duck on the way home with all that traffic on check in and check out days

We had a great time at the beach

Will never rent through this realtor again. Pool was broke when we got there. You could tell it wasn't cleaned or serviced although it was supposed to be on day of arrival. Called realtor on Monday morning g said the would have someone out. Nobody came till Wednesday and by that time I fixed it myself. No pool from Sunday till Wednesday afternoon. Terrible customer service

The house was fine. It was advertised accurately. It was not clean. I sent pictures to property manager. Pet hair on floor (no pets allowed), very dusty, mildew in bathrooms, sand in pool, trash not taken out by previous tenants, vacuum completely full.

Fun and perfect size

We have a family of 6 and invited two more kids with us. The size of the house was perfect for kids. Loved that the kitchen overlooked the pool. All our kids swim but we could keep an eye on them while cooking dinner. Itā€™s a little hike to the beach so we appreciated the carts provided. They were a huge help, donā€™t think we could have made it without them! Our boys enjoyed the basketball net and the large driveway was great for two cars and enough room to play a game of hoops. Privacy of this home was amazing for us. We felt secluded without a whole lot of people peeping in the pool/yard like other houses right in the road. We are nature people so The greenery around the pool really set the oasis mood for us. We loved our stay and would recommend. Wish it was a little closer walk to the beach. That was tough on really hot days. Our kids are 7-16 so they all were self-sufficient and walked independently. I wouldnā€™t want to imagine trying to do the beach walk with any younger kids. Next time weā€™d entertain renting a golf cart. Also, we quickly realized there is no parking at the beach access closest to the house so even if we wanted to drive the 5 blocks with kids and beach stuff we wouldnā€™t have anywhere to park.

Clean and cozy - perfect for single family plus grandparents

Well stocked kitchen, cozy family atmosphere and a pool! Walk to the beach was not that easy but doable. The pool and other amenities were perfect.

NICE PLACE TO RENT

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a lovely time staying here. It was almost like renting a beach cabin. The house was just as described in the website and very comfortable. The pool was great and the wooded lot was wonderful. The only two things were the twin beds were very uncomfortable not like the others beds in the home they had very comfy mattresses. The spiders continued to make cobwebs which is to be expected in the wooded location but it was hard to remember not to walk into them. They would rebuild them mostly outside on the deck and stair area and doorways. The walk to the beach was about 10 minutes which is not bad if you are not dragging all your beach necessities or need to use the restroom and made for shorter beach days because we did not want to run back forth for lunch and having to carry it out there was more gear to take on the walk and eating on beach is just too much sand. Overall the trip was great the location was nice it seems things are close by but the week we went the traffic was terrible so just going down to the Walmart which was 15 minutes away took over one hour both ways and seemed to be a daily traffic issue no matter where we went during our July visit. Overall had nice trip. Thanks for hosting us !
