For over 10 years, our guests' experiences have been wonderful and their stay created fond family and friend memories.

Our home has 1930's cottage charm - roomy, very clean, neat and well appointed for your comfort & privacy. With several outdoor dining and private lounging areas and decks, there is plenty of room throughout the property for guests and their friends to eat, chill and relax together or privately.

Our cottage is very conveniently located on the Great South Bay and bay beach, a one minute walk to the ferry and small town (which has a convenience store, a food market, pizza and ice cream shops, & the doctor’s office), and a 3 minute walk to the ocean beach. The cottage is far enough away to maintain quiet and privacy.

Summer on Fire Island is truly paradise. The ocean is warm, the weather is perfect, the sunrises and sunsets are spectacular, the fish are jumping, the surf is sensational, clamming, wind surfing, sailing and boating are exceptional activities, the summer residents are cool, and life is beautiful.. As you can see, I love it here and spend a lot of my time in this paradise.

Fair Harbor is one of the friendliest, laid-back Fire Island communities, hosting the best restaurant and social sunset gatherings on the dock every evening.

This property was a spectacular bayfront bungalow. The fair harbor community is a beautiful place, and this place has the best sunset views. The front screened in porch was our favorite place to eat dinner and watch the glowing sky. During the day, the expansive back deck made a great spot to eat and hang out. This home was a beautiful charming spot to be. A added plus that it was per friendly.

Great location!

Our family and friends stayed here for a weekend, and the location was perfect. Right on the bay and near the stores. Roberto was great to work with and was very accessible. A great place for a weekend at the beach.

Paradise FOUND!

We have been renting in Fair Harbor for years but this rental has been the best..BY FAR! There is NO better view in Fair Harbor. Wake to views of the ferry pulling back not there dock & the calm Great South Bay. The sunset view, from the front porch, is life-changing. The home is about 100 years old but lovingly maintained with all the cozy comforts you need for a beach vacation. Roberto was a fantastic host & communication was seamless. We have found our dream beach house & will DEFINITELY be renting again!

Funky beach cottage on the Bay

We have rented this house a few times and just loved it - especially my 21/19 year olds and their friends. What makes it great: location! Great for paddle boarders, kayakers, sunset watchers. Second, Roberto & Phy provide everything. You aren't scrounging for day 1 paper towels, utensils, oil for the bike chains. They are so generous as well when you have a problem (I swear Roberto has ESP - we call and he or someone shows up in 5 minutes). That is a big deal at a rental. Third, the outside options - back deck is huge with two tables. Two front areas - front deck and the "sand pit" seating area (our favorite) are great. AND a screened in porch for bug averse. We had 20 people from 2 houses for dinner no issues. It is a beach cottage and not fancy. But really what more do you need than this? Truly magical times here!

Great Location

I had a wonderful time staying at this property. It's location can't be beat as the bayside beach is right off the front porch and two houses away from the local liquor store, restaurant and grocer. We had never been to fire island before, and all we can say is that it is magical and the Fair Harbor Village has a wonderful laid back vibe.

Beautiful cottage right at the bay

We had a great time at Roberto's cottage. It is a beautiful old house with lots of charm and fit our needs very well. The location right next to the ferry and at the bay is excellent and we enjoyed spending time on the back porch, which had enough space for our group of 9. Roberto and his family were super helpful with the whole process, gave us great local recommendations and made sure we had an excellent stay. Thank you very everything!

Anniversary on the beach

Rustic and classic fire island home with plenty of privacy and amazing views. Steps away from the ferry and bay beach, a short walk to the ocean. Perfect spot to enjoy the sunset! Roberto and his wife were very welcoming . My husband and I ( our dog too) had a great time! It is a wonderful place to get away from it all.

Perfect Vacation

A Getaway On The Bay !

Roberto’s place was spectacular. Everything was exactly as described and the perfect safe haven for our fire island vacation. Steps away from the bay and a short walk to the beach, restaurants, bars and shops. Roberto was extremely accommodating and responsive. Would rent again.

Beautiful Oasis

Celebrated my birthday at Roberto's home and it was absolutely amazing! My family and I really enjoyed it. Beautiful property located near the beach, views of the bay right in front of the house. Breath taking sunset you can watch from the house, definitely will be returning!!

Wonderful bungalow on the bay

Roberto is truly the most accommodating host first and foremost. Every question answered. Every issue addressed. The house is perfect for 2 parents downstairs and teens upstairs. We had 11 people all week, comfortably. Although the inside first floor is a bit narrow, there is a big screened in porch and back deck that we used all the time. But really it’s the bay view in the front that kept us captive all week. Why would we ever be inside? We had coffee watching the sunrise at our doorstep. Kayaking at sunset was dreamy (thanks for the boats Roberto). The grill worked great. The outdoor shower was fantastic (11 people and no hot water issues). And a crazy amount of towels. Some bikes were not working but Roberto fixed them when we asked. We had a glorious week in this bungalow on the bay. We are coming back in 2020!

QUAINT BEACH HOUSE WITH AMAZING VIEWS AND SUNSETS

We celebrated our triplet daughter's Sweet 16 and had an amazing week in Fair Harbor. The owner, Roberto, was so easy to work with and very attentive to our needs. The house is STEPS away from the beach on the bayside of Fire Island and a short walk to the ocean. We used the bikes, wagon, grill, beach chairs, umbrellas, and board games provided by the owner...all were in working order. The house has a very rustic beach vibe, which added to its charm. There were plenty of bath and beach towels for all 10 of us. Towels were all large, clean, and in good shape. The house was clean, as were the sheets and blankets provided. We ate on the back deck that had plenty of seating for all of us. One evening we had a wonderful dinner at LeDock restaurant in Fair Harbor for our celebratory dinner with our daughters and several of their friends. The house is very close to the dock, which made it easy to get our food delivery order from Shoprite in Bay Shore. (very easy and convenient and cost effective way to feed 10 people for a week) Our daughters and their friends walked around the corner from the house every evening to get ice cream or acai bowls at Unfriendly's Ice Cream Shop. There is a market steps away from the house to purchase anything you need. It can be expensive to purchase food/water on Fire Island, but the market was a really nice convenience to have when we ran out of a few things. We took a short boat ride to Ocean Beach one afternoon. We did not use the Water Taxi, but saw it running back and forth regularly. Our daughters and their friends actually walked back to Fair Harbor and said it was a fun walk. I can't say enough nice things about our stay at Roberto's beach house in Fair Harbor. He was very quick about answering our questions and giving great advice about how to manage our stay on Fire Island. It was so important to us to make this trip memorable for our daughters. The house and charm of Fair Harbor left all of us with memories of a lifetime! I would definitely rent again from Roberto!!

Amazing location but house needs work.

The location was fantastic, right next to the dock, market, bay and playground. The views of the sunsets from the house were unforgettable. Roberto did a great job communicating up front. He was a lovely person during check in and let us check in early. So it pains us to leave this review but as frequent vrbo users, we want to make sure others are aware or know what questions to ask. Perhaps this year represents a dip in house care for the owners as past reviews were so positive! The house comes well loved - we knew it would be rustic (we are long time fire island people) but the unsafe and unsanitary condition was over the top and made for an uncomfortable stay. Many things were broken or close to being broken - busted wagon, almost all bikes are broken, shredded towels, sheets with holes in them, etc. And dirty - very old used food was left behind (mayo dated 2016!), floor of outdoor shower is covered in a green mold, bbq not cleaned off before we arrived. And areas were unsafe for kids - one side of the house was covered in construction and hazardous materials, nails stuck out of walls, very steep staircase. We felt mislead with the house description. Largest discrepancy is bedroom layout. Four out of the five bedrooms are railroad style, so for all 4 upstairs bedrooms, you have to walk into one bedroom to get to the next. It’s more like a 3 bedroom with 2 attached sitting rooms. The closets are packed with owners belongings. We still had a great time but it was a tough stay. House has great potential.

Cozy Beach House

If you are looking for a chill vibe and shabby chic beach house, this is the place for you! Comfortable and quaint, this house is a perfect spot if you like a bit of Fire Island without all the hustle and bustle of some of the other towns. Gather at the dock for a sunset party before dinner or day trip to another town if you want more action. Either way, you won’t be disappointed. Our host Roberto was great and the town has all you need for a relaxing stay. Will be back next summer for sure!

Lovely and friendly owner

The location of this cottage can't be beat. Especially if you have small kiddo's. It's directly across from the bay and playground. There were plenty of bikes for the grown-ups and plenty of beach stuff. Chairs, umbrellas, toys, boggie boards. and more stuff. We loved hanging out on the back deck. Thank goodness for the window airconditioners. It got crazy hot and humid a few days but we had no problems cooling the bedrooms off with the window units. I would give this 4.5 stars if I could. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is that the grill was very old and only 3 out of the 4 burners worked. When you are cooking for 8 it's hard not to have a better grill. But the cottage looks just like the pictures and we had a great time. All the other appliances were in good working order including the dishwasher. Life saver. And the out door shower is great.

Nice place, fantastic location, friendly owner

The location of this house is primo. Super close to the ferry dock, right on the "street" with swimming beach and playground, sunset views. We could hang out in the house or in the front area and let the kids play in the nearby sand & water for hours. Roberto is very kind and chill—helped create a nice, relaxing vibe for our week there. The house is not big or fancy but homey and comfy, with a kind of shabby chic aesthetic. We cooked and grilled a lot of meals for bunches of guests. A/Cs upstairs were very helpful on the hot days. A big bunch of friends had a very fun week at this house!

Idyllic location for family vacation

We had a fabulous time at Fair Harbor. The location of this house is ideal for a family with young kids. There's lots of space to eat and sleep and a huge back porch. The bay, which has a playground, is just across the sidewalk from the house, which allows little ones to enjoy the water before the adults are ready for the beach. The beach is only a 5-10 minute walk from the house and a long the way you pass the well stocked grocery store, liquor store and pizza restaurant. The community is friendly, with dogs being allowed on the beach and the atmosphere is relaxed and happy. The house is old, but maintained and the steep staircase could be challenging for older guests or little ones, but there is a bedroom on the main level. The house doesn't have a hair dryer, but that's an easy fix. Roberto is a fabulous host. He responded quickly to all of my messages and was flexible with our requests for early arrival and late departure. His relaxed, friendly demeanor started our vacation on the right foot. We felt welcome and at home the moment we stepped off the ferry. We plan to return next summer and would be thrilled to be able to stay in this house again. The location and view cannot be beat.

We'd do it again in a second!

OMG, everything about this rental was perfect! The location of the house, the size (and yet quaintness) of the house. The views! The hosts! The place was clean, the owners are welcoming and very accommodating. Any questions I had prior to the stay, they got back to me asap. The place had many amenities that came with it, so we didn't have to bring along a lot of stuff (anything I thought needed, was already there!). We like to cook, and kitchen had everything we needed. I'm a foodie and I love to go out to eat, but the whole week we were there, we never got to the Fair Harbor Restaurant because we were enjoying simply just hanging at the house so much! There was a front deck, back deck, front lounging area to choose from. I"d highly recommend this place, and I can't wait to go back!

Best on Fire Island

We have been staying with Rob and his family for 5+ years now. His beach cottage is simply the best we've found on Fire Island. We've stayed at a number of other properties and they all feel dark, damp, and out of place - like a regular suburban house plopped at the beach. Rob's is a true beach cottage - bright, airy, comfortable. And the location couldn't be better - 2 minutes from the ferry, in a quiet, peaceful Fair Harbor. We'll be back again, every year.

Peaceful retreat on the bay

We rented Phy and Roberto's lovely home for a small family wedding and it was perfect for our party. It is just a few hundred feet from the dock so it was extremely easy for our guests to get to. There was lots of sleeping space for family, including 2 teenagers and a baby along with our parents and siblings. It ended up raining on Saturday but the closed in porch offered a nice space to see the bay views while protected from the rain. Roberto was accommodating and helpful, even getting some packages to the ferry for us the following Monday. He was there to help us settle in when we arrived. Fair Harbor is a quiet and peaceful area with friendly neighbors and beautiful views. Recommended for a quiet escape from the city and as a location for a low-key gathering like ours.

We love Fair Harbor and love to travel the world! My wife and I enjoy the laid-back, Fire Island beach lifestyle. We find homes with beautiful bay and sunset views spiritual and inspiring. We take pride in helping our guests create fond vacation memories.
As we like connecting with our hosts and experiencing the local culture and way of life when we travel, we offer many suggestions to our guests on where to go, what to do & how to enjoy Fire Island and its relaxed, bohemian beach-life vibe.
We live on Long Island, NY just 7 miles across the bay, but feel thousands of miles away when in Fair Harbor.
