You won't miss any of the action sitting on the large, sunny deck overlooking Lunenburg Harbour & the Bluenose II. Whether it's the comings & goings of the majestic schooners; the dory or sailboat races; the arrival of new vessels which have come from afar; or simply the daily activity of the harbour; everything happens on the Bluenose wharf.

The shops, restaurants & art galleries are only steps away or around the corner. After dining in one of the many fine or family restaurants, you can walk the streets, steeped in a fascinating history and explore the intriguing architecture which gives Lunenburg it's special charm.

Beautiful beaches are only a short drive away, with either calm waters for toddlers or wavy surf providing endless enjoyment for teenagers & more adventurous sorts.

We stayed 5 nights for a family wedding. Location was perfect for all our activities. Very clean, great balcony overlooking the harbor! Would recommend.

The suite was a walk up.. challenging with luggage but worth it. Great view of harbour .. including Bluenose 11. Walking easy to restaurants / shops.. really cute and interesting town. Suite was 2 bedrooms.. both comfortable.( 2 senior couples) Quaint bath.. claw tub with unruly shower curtain. Open living area/ kitchen and all amenities were provided including maps/ tourist info. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay.. close to Oak Island.. great tour!

Great oceanside holiday apartment

Lovely, characterful and clean apartment, with all the appliances you need for a comfortable stay. The seaside themed decorations tied in well with the stunning view of the docks and ocean, connecting it to the fabulous location it is in. Had a very nice stay and felt well rested afterwards!

Great Stay

We rented the upstairs and downstairs apartments. We spent a lot of time on the deck and enjoyed the view. The place was very clean and safe. The town is wonderful and the location of this rental allowed walking access to everything.

Perfect location

Beautiful upper storey apartment, lots of character, with a deck overlooking the harbour. Short stroll to any of the great coffee houses, shops and restaurants. Within walking distance to trails and grocery. We had a wonderful stay.

Amazing location and view!

We had a wonderful stay in Lunenburg. This property offered everything we needed. The deck is a wonderful place to sit and watch the activity in the bay. The check-in and out process could not have been easier. We hope to return!

Lunenburg Bliss

Our loft apartment with a one of a kind view of the main wharf and a smattering of restaurant patios below us was delightful, The weather was a heatwave,but the breeze of the ocean helped to cool down our rooms with the help of oscillating floor fans and ceiling fans. Lots of eye candy historical buildings and businesses and lovely restaurants with excellent servers made our culinary experiences memorable. Canā€™t wait to do this trip again

We had a lovely stay at this place! The location was perfect, and the amenities and host really made our visit enjoyable. There was a small issue with the refrigerator leaking, but host was very responsive ,however did not resolve it. The best of everything- views, location, and ambiance

My husband I enjoyed a weekā€™s stay at the end of June. Everything was as described, and the apartment was well appointed. We used the kitchen daily, enjoying our walk to a nearby grocery store. We enjoyed breakfasts on the balcony, overlooking the harbour, and coffee and delicious pastries at the No. 9 cafe were only a short walk away. Spectacular restaurants and breweries were close by and many offered gluten and dairy-free options. We enjoyed many walks around the town, taking in the history and colours of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Free parking was easily found on side streets, within a couple of blocks from the apartment. This was our second visit to Lunenburg. I have no doubt we will be back for another restorative retreat.

Great beginning/Horrible ending

My husband and I stayed in beautiful Lunenburg for 4 days at this VRBO home. The 2 bedroom apartment was very clean , well equipped, very nicely decorated and the view from the balcony was spectacular! What made it a really bad ending to a great experience was the checking out. Their check out time is11:00 am.By no exaggeration of time , it was 5 minutes after 11 when the entry door to the apartment opened and a man with a mask came in and a large dog came running in. The man never knocked or said a word just barged right in to the apartment. was terrified because I was in the apartment by myself while my husband was getting the car to load up our suitcases .The man never apologized for entering without even knocking or making his presence unknown..He was actually very rude stating ā€œ check out is at 11..How long before you leave?ā€ I felt intimidated by this man and his dog. . It is for this reason that if we were ever in Lunenburg again, we would never stay at this VRBO property.

Amazing-Awesome-Incredible-Immaculate-Breathtaking view-Brilliantly decorated-Profoundly comfortable

Beginning with the only weak area is the stairs. I don't know why I didn't consider that Lunenburg is built on a steep grade - duh! But as a 60 yr old woman who has some joint problems, coming from the waterfront and up the steep sidewalks, by the time that I started climbing the stairs to the 3rd floor loft, I thought I might die. If you have knee, foot or hip problems, it becomes necessary to plan your day so you aren't returning frequently. Everything about this apartment is pleasing to the eye. We brought 2 grandchildren ages 9 and 11 and we found ourselves extremely content here. The location was perfect. Endless opportunities to explore and dine. We could see the Bluenose from the deck and watched it go out - WOW. Together we snapped 500 photos from the deck and they are all masterpieces suitable for framing. The kitchen is nicely set-up for cooking with plenty of room. Though we didn't use it, it was nice to have a washing machine available. We had a great sense of being welcome in this well-thought-out rental unit. I plan to return.

Lovely, but kitchen/dining need work.

Four of us stayed in the Loft for a week. As other reviewers note, the view from this Loft is fantastic. And the apartment is lovely with beautifully restored old floors, nice colors in kitchen and bathroom tile, and tasteful decorations. And it is well situated in the middle of Lunenburg for easy access to restaurants, shops, wharf, and galleries. However, we would note a few concerns. First, we planned to cook dinner "at home" about half the time. The kitchen was so under-furnished (inadequate supply of pans, glasses, utensils; no broiler pan at all) that cooking was challenging. If you use a fork in food prep, you have to wash it to set the table for 4. And if the weather doesn't permit you to eat outside on the deck, you have to move furniture around and bring in outdoor chairs to create a dinner table for 4. An aside: the 3 stools at the kitchen counter are too high for the counter and have no padding left in the upholstered seats. Very uncomfortable. So, if your intention is to do serious cooking, be forewarned to try to keep it simple. The second concern is sleep quality. I guess it is the flip side of being in the center of town, but the surrounding inn and restaurants have garbage pick-up early in the morning. And other trucks come by grinding uphill at early hours. We had the bedroom window open for air, and we were routinely awakened by early morning garbage/traffic noise between 4 and 6 a.m. In fairness, my sister in the other (equally exposed) bedroom did not get awakened by noise. We were glad to have WiFi, but the connection was slow and sometimes failed. We found that the payment procedures were not convenient for international travelers. Upon arrival, we paid in full, in cash. Yet, our deposit was returned as a check which the owner's bank refused to cash for us. This would probably not be an issue for Canadian renters.
