Romantic Retreat. Soak in the hot tub or lie on loft bed; listen to the surf.

Romantic Retreat: This fantastically located, atmospheric guest house was custom designed by the owner. This intimate home is ideal for two and perhaps a well behaved canine! Take a hop and a skip down the street to the cliffs of Pleasure Point, where you can surf yourself or view the surfers down below while you walk. After your stroll, you can rinse off in the outdoor shower before you soak in the bubbling cedar wood hot tub. Enjoy the privacy, the curling leaves of the pepper tree, and the lovely music of the wind chimes. Swing in a hammock as you cool off. There is a small hot tub deck and a small outdoor area in front of the house near the garden with bubbling fountain.

The bungalow boasts Spanish tile floors, a romantic sleeping loft with sky lights, a custom built desk and bookshelf, atmospheric lighting on dimmers, many books of poetry and about spirituality. Please note that you cannot stand in the loft, which most people very cosy. The feeling of the house is peaceful and the neighborhood quiet. We have several DVDs, many of them romantic comedies, as well as instant Netflix. We also provide Direct tv so that you can watch your favorite channels.

You can walk to nearby 41st Ave. to great cafes and restaurants, or drive to picturesque Capitola Village for unique stores and boutiques.

The house and location are great for people wanting a peaceful atmosphere. Great feeling house for reading, meditating, writing and contemplation, or spending quality time with that special someone. It is wonderful to walk out the door and be able to stroll along the beach during minus tide times, or to explore beaches nearby. It is a short drive to picturesque Capitola Village, and Santa Cruz has great hiking trails as well as even more awesome beaches.

Quiet and lovely cottage

Wonderful little spot!

We have stayed here twice now, and love it! It's a tiny, cozy little loft with everything we need for a great stay by the ocean: hot tub, outdoor shower, little kitchen, BBQ, and a great lofted bed that's right under some skylights with a tree right above. It is super peaceful, and so much fun to stay here.

Cozy Romantic Retreat at Pleasure Point

Once again, we enjoyed this cozy little retreat in a great location for walking and viewing the many wonders of the most magnificent surfing area within a few blocks. The hot tub is a wonderful way to relax before climbing into a cozy loft for a great nights sleep...it's small but more than worth the price!

A great retreat!

We stayed in this romantic hideaway for the week surrounding our wedding in Santa Cruz and it couldn't have been more perfect. It was peaceful, private, quiet and relaxing, everything we needed. The location was ideal, close to restaurants and beaches, New Leaf grocery store and much more. We look forward to reliving our magical week on a return visit.

Super cozy and sweet spot!

We loved this place! It is tiny, comfortable, clean and charming. We loved the privacy, amazing hot tub, comfy loft with beautiful skylights, close walk to beach (with dolphins!) and close walk to lots of fun places to eat. Seriously a special, special place! We will return.

Great little cottage. Excellent location. Intimate hot tub!

We had a great time at Sita’s little cottage near Pleasure Point. Very close to beaches and beautiful California coastal scenery. Even though it’s in a suburban neighborhood it’s very quiet and feels really secluded. The whole place has a lovely Santa Cruz vibe. We felt refreshed and renewed after spending a weekend here. Hosts were very friendly and helpful too. Great property!

cute little hideaway

My wife and I stayed here for New Years and a few days after. The space is super cute and cozy, we loved the loft bed and the hot tub under the stars, and the kitchen was very well set up and stocked. Location is great, we love Pleasure Point, easy walk to coffee at Verve and a bunch of cute restaurants. And our mini Australian shepherd highly recommends it!

Very cozy. The place is a small guest house (behind the main house) accessible via the alley. Small cov'd carport leads to a private courtyard with a rustic outdoor shower and tranquil water feature. Inside your greeted with warm decor and size appropriate furnishings. The bed is in the upstairs loft, very comfy but if you're tall it takes some careful maneuvering. The small patio out back has tub-shaped jacuzzi for 2 and it was wonderful. The kitchen is well appointed for the tiny space but a bit on the dark side. Some under counter lighting would go a long way. Also a microwave vs a toaster oven is a personal preference. Oven and stove worked great. Would definitely stay again

A Romantic Retreat Indeed

A great getaway place in Santa Cruz/Capitola, perfect for celebrating our 25th Anniversary. Just 2 blocks from the ocean and Pleasure Point! We loved the privacy, the quiet, and the hot tub! Downtown Capitola is about 1.5 miles away so it's walk-able. We loved everything about this cottage! Thank you Sita and Tom! Ryan and Jill

Beach Cottage

What a cute spot!! Not too much space for relaxing..no couch, but beach access is great and walkability excellent. Hot tub was great. I wasn't a bit fan of the loft bed, but I can see it's allure for many. The space is outfitted nicely for renters. Coffee is supplied as well as some other essentials.

Wonderful holiday retreat...

We enjoyed a 3 night stay in this cozy and wonderfully appointed little cottage near Pleasure Point in Santa Cruz over Thanksgiving weekend. Yes, it’s small but it’s spirit is large and we so enjoyed sleeping in the loft, watching the amazing surfing just a block away, soaking in the cedar hot tub, watching a movie, reading in the hammock and enjoying breakfasts made in a well appointed kitchen..we loved every inch of it!

Great little get away spot

As promised, this cottage is a wonderful spot for romantic couples to relax and enjoy Santa Cruz. It's location at Pleasure Point, a spot much loved by the locals, is quiet enough to unwind while still having all the great restaurants and surf life. The owners were very friendly and responsive to anything we needed but also left us much privacy. The loft bedroom was cozy and had skylight which open to let the ocean breeze through at night. We loved the wooden hot tub which sat under the shade of a pepper tree. We stayed there 3 nights and felt completely recharged after.

So much fun, such a great weekend!

This house is super cozy, with lots of beautiful light shining in through the skylights, fresh air blowing through the glass doors, a handy little patio and outdoor shower for pre and post surf, and an amazing cozy little cedar hot tub sat right under a nice tree. We spent the weekend down there -- a spontaneous trip -- and were able to walk to the surf, to coffee, to dinner and breakfasts. And spent hours just hanging in the hot tub and enjoying the quiet and relaxed spot where this little house is. We would definitely like to return!

Great Getaway

Great little studio! We used the hot tub nightly, and never moved our car, except for a day trip to Moss Landing to kayak and go whale watching. We walked to restaurants on 41st Avenue, and walked to Capitola one of the days. We also spoiled ourselves and our dog with several walks a day to watch surfers and the gorgeous views of the bay. We actually got to know several local dogs and their humans, who we saw again and again. Perfect for us. We will be back!

A wonderful, romantic home away from home.

This tiny, romantic little hideaway was just perfect for my wife and I to enjoy our honeymoon stay. Sita was very helpful ahead of our check-in and even offered us a discount when there appeared to be an issue with the hot tub. Fortunately everything was in tip top shape when we arrived and the hot tub was just as wonderful as advertised. In addition to this little apartment being just adorable and intimate and everything we had hoped for, the location was BRILLIANT. Sitting just a couple of blocks from the beach and a few blocks from local shopping and restaurants, we never found ourselves lacking in finding a place to go. If you go, definitely look up the restaurant "Margaritaville" (it's NOT the cheesy chain restaurant, it's delicious margaritas and Mexican food) The food was great, but more importantly, the location where it sits is a MUST visit. Awesome boutique shopping and tons of other restaurants sitting just on the water. We didn't discover it until our last day and wished we had sooner. Overall we loved the location and Sita was wonderful as well. We'll definitely think of this little getaway next time we travel to the area!

Romantic Retreat!

My husband and I stayed here after several particularly stressful weeks. The space was a magical retreat to restore and nourish our selves. When we ate lunch on the front patio, next to the water feature, the scent of jasmine filled the air and hummingbirds dipped over our heads. The gardens are lovingly tended and I felt like I was in a fairy cottage. The loft bedroom hosts a queen-sized bed and there are is an easy short staircase for access (not a hard to maneuver ladder.) The house is compact but well thought out and there is plenty of space for two. The back patio had my favorite feature - a redwood hot tub for two that we went in every day. My husband and I would welcome the morning fog or look at the night sky in complete privacy. Fresh flowers in little vases greeted our arrival and we felt like welcome friends. This was truly a sanctuary for us. (Also want to add that the neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful and it's a very short walk to the beach and an easy walk to cafes.)

Hospitable Hosts

Stayed here for 2 weeks with husband and our little poodle/schnauzer mix fur baby. Very pleased with the cleanliness of the space, cookware, and bedding. The location was amazing- the beach and many restaurants and shops are within walking distance. Tom and Sita were readily available and left us some beautiful flowers and thoughtful gifts throughout. We were here for a conference and really only slept here. The Japanese style hot tub was amazing to have and was also well-maintained. The only suggestions for improvement would be to have screens on the windows, as we stayed in August and it was very warm with no A/C and hard to keep the windows open due to bugs coming in. The mattress was very comfortable and we slept like a baby. Keep in mind though that the bed is in a tiny house style loft, so if you are tall or have mobility issues, it may be difficult to maneuver. It is also in the back of the owners’ house, so it’s not completely private, as you have to go to their yard to do laundry and empty trash, but they are very friendly and the space itself has enough privacy to feel comfortable. Love how pet friendly it is- our little guy liked his little cubby area for his bed. For our type of stay, it suited our needs and had a calm energy.

We had the best time, Sita and Tom are great hosts, their place is perfect and everything was fantastic. Hope we get back there again soon. If you know Santa Cruz at all, this is the kind of place that’s very hard to find. So grateful to them for their hospitality.

We are interested in spirituality and meditation. Our Romantic Retreat is very conducive to meditation. Our gardens are beautiful, and we love our cedar hot tub. The sleeping loft is cozy and romantic and we can hear the ocean. We also love that we can walk to the beach, and to restaurants and cafes.

15 Minute drive to Downtown Santa Cruz, 10 minute drive to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. A fifteen minute drive to Nicene Marks State Park for wonderful hiking. And walking distance to the beach. It's at the corner and you can walk along it during low tides. There is also a market cafe just a block and a half away where you can get your food and sit overlooking the ocean to eat it.
