Beautiful Lakefront Home with Pontoon on S. Manistique Lake

The Cedarview is a very nice 3 bedroom 3 1/2 bath home located on the east shore of South Manistique Lake. Summer rentals include a 2023 22' Pontoon Boat with a 90hp four stroke motor. There is also a 2 kayaks, a canoe and paddle boat available for your use.
This air conditioned home is set up very well for families to share, each of the 3 bedrooms has it's own private bath with a whirlpool tub in the master bath. The first floor has a fully furnished kitchen, large dining/living/great room area with a gas fireplace, laundry room with a half bath, and one bedroom with a queen bed, smart TV and private bath. Upstairs boasts the master bedroom with queen bed and smart TV, also a loft sitting area overlooking the great room. The second upstairs bedroom has a queen bed and a full/twin bunk bed complemented with a smart TV. Netflix is on all TVs.
You can relax on the large front porch, take a swim in the lake where the water is shallow and the bottom is sandy, try your hand at the great fishing to be found or cruise on the pontoon. If your into day tripping many wonderful sites await you in all directions.

We had a great stay !! the house is beautiful with plenty of room and also very warm n cozy ! And in a great location being right on the lake. Weā€™ll definitely keep this place in mind for a summer trip !!!

We had 6 adults and the house and location was perfect. Beautiful sunsets! The pontoon boat was beautiful. Kevin was very easy to work with. Will definitely stay here again.

Best cottage ever

Great location close to Curtis and other UP locations. Very comfortable and well laid out to accommodate our family of 9. Lake was a hit with the kids. Privacy and lots of wildlife viewing. Beautiful place with wonderful upgrades.

Nice cabin, expensive, challenging boat lift, lots of fishing-little catching, eagles on the lake...a long drive to any UP attractions. Nice cabin but over priced.

Beautiful paradise

What a lovely cottage on a beautiful lake. It was more than what we expected. To the cottage, quiet neighborhood, the lake(swimming/fishing) and the pontoon boat. It was perfect for us. We will definitely be back.

THE 19TH ANNUAL SMITH FISHING TRIP

Had an excellent vacation 12-19 Sep 2020 on S. Manistique Lake in Curtis/Gould City, MI. Kevin and Tammy Vajen have a beautiful home on the lake. We enjoyed the accommodations provided, enjoyed the pontoon listening to music and catching fish , played cards, traveled to both downtown areas, and had many laughs. Great retreat from the city and work! Looking forward to the 20TH ANNUAL SMITH FISHING TRIP in 2021!!

Beautiful, Clean, and Comfortable

My wife and I just finished a 5-day stay with our adult children. What a gorgeous place! Everything we had hoped for. Clean, comfortable, and spacious. Great open-concept kitchen/dining/living area with beautiful lake views. Comfy beds and private bath in each of the 3 bedrooms. Really nice laundry room. The weather even cooperated and nature provided some stunning sunsets. Perfectly situated to visit Tahquemenon, Pictured Rocks, and the Seney Wildlife Refuge. Communication with Kevin was excellent. Will definitely stay again.

May 2022 getaway

Since we had stayed here before, we new what to expect and we werenā€™t disappointed. Everything was clean and very comfortable and we caught fish when the wind wasnā€™t blowing to hard. There were baby robins that had hatched a few days before we got there and they were fun to watch getting fed by mom and dad. The pontoon boat was a great way for all of us to see the lake and it ran perfectly. We would definitely stay here again.

South Manistique Lake MI

It is next to impossible to find a better place to stay in the area. The house and grounds are very accommodating for families of all ages. There are plenty of beds and baths, a well stocked kitchen, and spacious living areas. The lake has a great bottom for swimming at the beachfront. The pontoon provides lake cruising and fishing. We have stayed here a few times and I would highly recommend it.

Beautiful and Relaxing

Everything was perfect upon arrival. Nicely decorated giving a warm and welcoming feeling while there. Beautiful view looking out over the lake. Itā€™s definitely a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the time with family. Kevin is GREAT to work with and is quick to answer questions and help out in any way he can. A great UP lake getaway

The house was perfect for a cozy retreat away. The dock was not out for our early April stay yet but in the summer with the dock and pontoon it would be an amazing waterfront vacation. Lake is shallow and sandy which is perfect for splashing around and cooling off. The small town of Curtis is close and had all the essential and trails for riding are close as well. Kevin was a great communicator and a dream to work with. 100% recommend this home for an anytime of year get away!

Winter Vacation

We have enjoyed staying at the Cedarview a number of times with our family. The accommodations serve us well. The house is always clean and inviting. The owner is easy to work with and responds quickly to questions. We hope we can go back again someday.

UP Fall Vacation

Beautiful home and decor with a wonderful view of the lake. Bedrooms upstairs are nicely decorated also. Large parking area which made it much easier to trailer in our off road side by side. Very nice pontoon for fishing or spending time on the lake. Stopped at Chet & Pat's Ice Cream in Curtis for very tasty soup and dessert. Moose du Nord in McMillan has great pizza, ice cream and coffee. Helmer House Inn in McMillan is a small restaurant selling baked goods and serving meals until 3 pm. Nice winery nearby at Germfask called End of the Road Winery. Enjoyed the nice relaxing time and fall colors.

Fantastic Fall location

Loved the house, view of the lake, the boat, the comfy beds. Well equipped kitchen. Very private. Great location to head in various directions for touring the UP. Only minor issue was internet stopped working every night. Signal was decent during the day most days. Would definitely rent again. Kevin very responsive to our questions before and during our trip.

Perfect UP Getaway

We absolutely loved this house and property! It was perfect for all ages (19months to 70+ year olds). The home has plenty of space, baths, and a great layout. The back deck has tons of seating and the ceiling fans were a welcome addition. The backyard is flat/kid friendly with easy in and out of the water. The use of the pontoon was a great perk to have and in excellent shape! The water is clean, has a sandy bottom, and shallow/perfect for kids to play in. The only thing you need to bring is paper products/towels/beach towels, otherwise the house is generously stock (kitchen has everything you could need). The communication with the owners was excellent and always prompt. BOOK IT NOW, don't miss out!!!

Great Lake Vacation Destination!

The home is absolutely beautiful and has everything one needs to enjoy the outdoors - paddle boats, kayaks, canoe, and lots of outdoor seating! The water is very clear, but donā€™t plan to fish off the pier - we didnā€™t see a fish all week šŸ™‚ The house has good internet, cable TV in two rooms, central air, and everything you could possibly need in the kitchen - even an apple corer! Plus, board games and puzzles! It is centrally located; just one hour from several day trips! We spent every other day at the cabin enjoying the water and then day-tripped the other 3 to Mackinac Island, Pictured Rock, and the Falls/Oswald Bear Ranch. The little town of Curtis is just two miles away and has the best ice cream shop - Chet and Patā€™s; it was so cute! We would recommend the Grasshopper, Cookie Monster, and Blondie sundaes. It also has a Dollar General in case you forget something you need! The only complaint we had was that no one told us to bring toilet paper, but someone else mentioned it in a review - so luckily we did! Bring toilet paper with you or be ready to buy it!
