Lake Michigan Lake Front with Private Beach

Rent for 1 or more weeks. Our cottage is part of a quiet cottage owners' community, perfect for a relaxing vacation at the beach. Enjoy a beautiful beach and Lake Michigan with awesome views and sunsets from the large deck! (See pics!)
The cottage is a smoke free environment. Pets are allowed with permission from the owner. Capacity limit is six people to limit wear on this private home. The cottage is owner occupied approx. 1/2 of the summer.
We're in a great location - on a private stretch of beach only 1 mile north of the popular town of Pentwater. As you can see from the pictures, the cottage is high on a dune. There are sliding glass door windows on two sides looking West out onto the deck and to the lake for a very tree-top feel and great views. This cottage is not for you if you cannot manage stairs. Like all cottages on the dunes, there are a lot of stairs to get to the beach. Inside, there is a great room and a large dining room table for family meals/ games/ cards, etc. The cottage is 2 levels- There are 2 bedrooms and full bath on the main floor, plus 2 bedrooms and full bath upstairs which makes it ideal for a single family, or for 2 couples.
Swimming in clear water, sandy bottom and the endless walking beach can't be surpassed. It is about a mile walk to town.
Please see the Rental Agreement which is reqired for booking.
Saturday check out is before 11:00am and check in is after 4:00pm.
The Pentwater area has lots to do in addition to the beach: golf, tennis, many shops, restaurants, mini golf, go-carts, ice cream, movies, and is just north of Silver lake with its amazing sand dunes and dune rides!

Outstanding Week

Beautiful week on the most gorgeous beach in the world. Sand is white and water blue. Be prepared for a long walk up and down stairs. Check in process simple. Owner very accessible if needed. Accommodations are comfortable and clean. Open floor plan. Kitchen very well stocked. Not necessary to bring anything. Saving the best for last……new deck with new table and chairs. Spent most of our time there enjoying beautiful views and the most gorgeous sunsets.

This would be a 5 star review except for realizing we were being watched. After the 1st week I received a 1 week reminder that we were registered for 6 people: at no point during our stay were there ever more than 5 people at the house. A reminder that there is no smoking: one person vaping not smoking. A reminder to walk my dog in the parking area. I walked my dog on beach. The dog never had accidents in the house, around the house, but only went on the beach and we always cleaned up after her. This being watched creeped me out. The house is wonderful. The property is gorgeous. Sue is friendly. But after finding out, I was being watched, I just felt uncomfortable and we ended up leaving a few days early.

A real Getaway

This is the place for you if you want to leave the world behind! That first moment you reach the top of the drive and see the lake is amazing! The view and the beach are incredible. You are in the woods. We saw turkeys, deer (even a doe feeding 2 fawns), black squirrels (we don’t have those where I’m from), and lots of cool insects.

Our favorite beach place

Pristine sand and water, lovely sunsets, plenty of space and very peaceful. In the dunes north of town, so lots of steps. Hope to be back next summer!

Absolutely beautiful setting

And it’s all about the beach. Lots of stairs, good for your quads. Very comfortable and accommodating for all of us, with lots of beach toys for the kids, and a kayak for the grown-ups. Sorry we had to leave.

Lovely beach - fabulous sunsets

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Pentwater. The cottage is homey and comfortable. The beach is fabulous (if you don't mind steps!) The sunsets and views from the deck can't be beat -- assembling to view (and photograph) the sunset was our evening ritual. Our adult sons loved riding the dunes at Silver Lake.

Fantastic as always

This is our third year renting this cottage so if you want you can read my review from last year which has all the details. We loved it so much last year we rented it for two weeks this year. This year was exceptional also! The most beautiful views all day and the most beautiful sunsets you’ll ever find in Michigan. Owners are every responsive, cleanliness top notch, beds comfortable and full kitchen. Great memories made for my family!

Quiet and Secluded getaway

Our family enjoyed our stay here especially the private beach. The kitchen is well stocked. Beautiful deck overlooks the lake. Homeowner is quickly responsive to messages.

Wonderful Beach Getaway

This cottage has everything. The beach was really beautiful and enjoyed many walks in both directions. Enjoyed the Pentwater shops and experienced a few stand up comedians at the Village Pub one evening. Our host Sue communicated with us regarding some impending weather coming which was most appreciated. Sue, love this cottage and the peacefulness we experienced on our vacation. Thank you for having us back. Hope to come back another time soon. Thank you!

Actual Stay Greater than the Anticipation

Sue's cottage was very tastefully decorated and comfortable with all of the amenities. There is an excellent sandy beach that was nice for walks both going south about a mile to Mears State Park and Pentwater as well as to the north. In addition to our daily Lake Michigan swims, a kayak was provided that we used frequently. At nearby Silver Lake State Park we had fun driving our ATV on the dunes. We grilled dinner most nights on the deck while chatting before beautiful sunsets over the lake framed by treetops surrounding the deck. The steps to the beach were not difficult for us, and comfortable beach chairs and umbrellas were provided. Sue is an excellent and gracious owner and answered any questions promptly.
