This 3 bed and 3.5 bath home consists of 2100 sq. ft of stilted Indoor & expansive Outdoor Entertainment including a private hot tub, decks for days and endless Pleasure Island adventures!
Your property
Pleasure Island (Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher) has become a RAPIDLY increasing vacation (and full-time!) destination for the East coast and beyond for many reasons. It’s a family-oriented beach with a touch of everything one might be looking for! It’s an AMAZING place to visit, live, and never leave!
The home is on the North End of Carolina Beach and a short ride or long walk to downtown and everything that it has to offer. In Carolina Beach you’ve got the boardwalk, restaurants, and local shops of all kinds. If you like adventures, the marina is also there where you can take an offshore fishing trip, diving excursion, or party boat out for a sunset sail. Camping more your thing? Bring the 4X4 and drive (and camp) on the beach at Freeman Park, located on the North End of the island.
You can also head down to Kure Beach and fish directly off their fishing pier compete with bait, tackles, and more! The Carolina Beach Lake is nearby, hosting a weekly Farmer’s Market every Saturday and FIREWORKS every Thursday. We welcome you to sit back, relax and enjoy yourselves because that's exactly what the beach is for!
As you pull up to "Paws. . . and RELAX!" A PF getaway in the clouds, you are immediately greeted by an amass of pilings, pillars, and bracings that almost resemble a massive, elevated ship getting ready for its maiden voyage! Underneath the home, there’s space for 6-8 vehicles dependent upon size. Two separate stairways (one Eastern, one Western) provide access up to your CB Sandcastle in the clouds.
The entry to this truly unique 3 bedroom/3.5 bath home opens up into a “galley” of bedrooms and bathrooms strewn across the sandy first-floor footprint. Residing at the intersection of Sand Fiddler Ln and Canal Drive, Glousterman offers unimpeded Atlantic views throughout the home thanks to the access. The Northern end of the home affords various ICWW and canal marshland views. From feather grass and sandy dunes to hazy sunrises and drifts of sand illuminated by the moon, access to EVERYTHING Pleasure Island has to offer is steps from your room.
A pair of spacious bedrooms (#1 and #2) accommodate adventurers with Queen size beds, private wardrobes, and plenty natural light and all the vitamin SEA one can possibly need! The laundry room rests conveniently just off the main hallway. Heading to the Northern most tip of SS Glousterman, the captains’ quarters await!
Complete with a King size bed, private wet bar, mini-fridge, ensuite bath (with jacuzzi-tub) and French door access outside, the master bedroom (bedroom #3) is definitely where the treasure chest would be kept, courses charted, and parrot would ask for a cracker! A Queen size pullout is also available inside the master for an impromptu extra guest upgrade!
1 set of the following will be made on a per bed/per person basis to help you be comfortable on your adventure! Bed sheets (fitted/flat set), bath towels, wash cloths, cleaning rags, pillowcases, bathmats and kitchen towels. Laundering or extra sets are not an available service regrettably. Please make sure all used linens are placed in one location in the home at departure. Please let all BED LINENS remain on the beds for our TEAM to take care of! As we open the French doors out onto the deck, an incredible expansive outdoor space opens! Complete with a (second!) wet bar, sectional couch, lounge chairs, and numerous other R&R specific furnishings, the sprawling wrap-around deck is surely a sight to behold. The centerpiece of the entertainment area is an 8-person hot tub which overlooks the marshland and is the perfect exclamation point to cap off a day of beach combing and sun soaking.
As we head upstairs towards the homes upper mast, you soon encounter a large open layout comprised of a dining area, gourmet kitchen, and family room. Granite, stainless steel, and the newest technologies are strewn across the space. Just off the family room sits a lofty exterior balcony complete with a dining table for 6, views for days, and long overdue conversations that last indefinitely.
1 courtesy soap, shampoo and conditioner are left in the bathroom of each home as well as 2 rolls of TP per bath, 1 makeup wipe and one backup toothbrush. 1 roll of paper towel, a sponge, dish soap, 2 trash bags per receptacle and (*as applicable) 3 dishwasher and laundry pods will be available to use if needed!
Guest access
The HOME: Guests have full access to your private home and respective grounds.
The YARD: Guests have full access to the private yard, patio, multiple decks, patios, and balconies. Guests may fully enjoy (and maintain!) all of the homes outdoor amenities such as the hot tub, so long as done respectfully and safely!
PARKING: Each reservation will have access to a maximum of 6-8 vehicles underneath the home (*oversized vehicles depending).

Neighborhood description
Pleasure Island is a coastal barrier island in Southeastern North Carolina, USA just south of the City of Wilmington. Pleasure Island is located within Federal Point Township, in New Hanover County. The coastal resort towns of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, as well as the annexed communities of Wilmington Beach and Hanby Beach are located on the island.
The home itself is under one block from the nearest beach access. The property is a short drive from down town Carolina Beach with its shops, activities and dining and is equidistant to the smaller, but just as charming Down Town Kure Beach.
Carolina Beach and the surrounding neighborhoods offer an array of sights and activities to enjoy while here. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through Carolina Beach State Park, Fishing on the Kure Beach Pier, kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be what the doctor ordered!
Getting around
There isn’t anywhere or anything on our Island that isn’t accessible with foot power. Downtown Carolina Beach has several vendors such as Tony Silvagni’s Surf School @ 308 S Lake Park Blvd, Carolina Beach, NC 28428 (bicycles, paddle boards, surfboards, kayaks, chairs, and umbrellas) for rent as an alternative to walking or driving. There's Sun Fun Rentals @1204 N Lake Park Blvd Unit F Carolina Beach, NC 28428. Taxi’s (local golf cart taxi’s) and Uber’s are also generally available for an assist when needed as well throughout the island! You can catch a Ferry to Southport in Kure Beach @ 2422 Fort Fisher Blvd S Kure Beach which leads to another ferry to Bald Head Island where NO CARS are allowed at all! After all, you won’t catch many locals going OTB! (Over The Bridge). Everything you need is right here!
Interaction with guests
I will be available for check-in and general assistance until 8PM EST. Anything with the exception of an emergency (ie. flood, fire, or another *safety* related risk sent to Maintenance) will be responded to ASAP the following day :)

Our partners include the Tony Silvagni Surf School for professional surf lessons, bicycle, umbrella and chair rentals, Hot Ticket Fishing Charters, Salty Dog and Dust Busters Cleaning & Linens. Our partners support guests of Salt Water Real Estate with the highest caliber of local services for extremely competitive and oft discounted pricing. They all contribute to the “Salt Water” experience and we <3 them for it!
•There is a $150 non-refundable pet fee for up to two pups.
Pup rules for Pet Friendly homes •Any interactions between your furry son or daughter and other neighbors (animal OR human) are completely at your discretion (and *liability). •Pups are NEVER allowed on any furniture. (*Single biggest added charge from the cleaners/owners post stay.) •Do NOT let your pup bark excessively in any multi-unit environment. •ALWAYS pick up after your pup IMMEDIATELY after the potty sesh.
•April 1st through September 30th, dogs are allowed on the Carolina Beach during restricted hours of BEFORE 9:00 am and AFTER 5:00 pm. On the extreme North End of Carolina Beach, dogs are allowed on leash 24/7 on leash. In Kure Beach, dogs are NOT allowed at any juncture. Fort Fisher allows dogs on leash on the beach 24/7.
·ALL suites are non-smoking (including vaping) and a heavy cleaning/repair charge can result if not adhered to. This includes porches, decks, balconies, and walkways. Assistance during your stay!
•Please always consider TRAVEL INSURANCE from your respective booking site or vendor to help protect your costs in case of inclement weather or last-minute travel complications (court, illness, etc.). These items are NOT refundable scenarios unless the property itself is compromised. If that does happen, we will do our absolute best to find you alternative housing.

It was Paws and Relax!
The house was great! We loved the patios and the view of the ocean from the living room. The beach was nice and the neighborhood was quiet. Loved the view of the pier and the marshlands from the decks. Will definitely be back!

Entomology, thermodynamics, veterinary medicine and even interior design are personal responsibilities our office has been tasked with advising on a case-by-case basis! We’ve got no direct lines to Mother Nature regrettably and ever more so, have no ability to guaranty personal vacation plans go untested. Paws and Relax
The perfect spot and host for a beach getaway where you can truly unwind. You’ll get so used to the time you spend together with family at this house and in the town that you simply will not want to leave. It’s a beautiful oasis of togetherness and calm and this house is the perfect spot for it.

Beautiful home, wonderful stay!
Overall the home was wonderful. Beautiful ocean view, great decks! Just a few issues with the listing...it says there are 2 queens but they're not, one of the bedrooms is a bunk with 2 twin bunks in it (4 twins total) which I think people should know because it's not easy putting grown ups in those and also the tub in the master is a soaking tub, not a jacuzzi tub-no jets but still really nice! I'll definitely miss this house, it was a great time!

Great property, fun times. A few items on the description were inaccurate, such as having bunk beds instead of a queen bed in one bedroom, tub in master bath is not a jacuzzi tub, hot tub is definitely not a 8 person - maybe 5 max but that would be tight. There was no refrigerator on the outside wet bar as pictured. Also grill was left very unclean from the last guest so I spent about 45 minutes cleaning it before it could be used. All these items did not hamper our stay, although I do feel the description of the property should accurately portray what is actual. Thanks for making my birthday week a good one!

Beautiful property, with very close proximity to the beach, and would have loved to be able to use the property to "paws and relax" as intended, however due to a SEVERE German Cockroach infestation, this was anything but a relaxing getaway. After putting our bags down inside, we went to the grocery store and bought groceries for the weekend. After returning, we turned the lights on in the property to witness the roaches scatter all over the place. After alerting the property manager, the cleaning lady contacted us and informed us that these pests were brought to the property by another guest over a month before we stayed - a problem which we were NEVER notified of after we had booked the unit. Our options were either a) salvage a vacation but risk bringing the bugs back into our home or b) leave and still risk bringing the bugs back to our home. Management was aware of the issue and never alerted us to the problem prior to us showing up, and the added stress of spending a day going back and forth with them about what was "fair compensation" should have never needed to happen - we should have been alerted in advance. While management was responsive and the property is beautiful, it absolutely should be something that any and all guest are aware of PRIOR to their vacation.

Jared and his party were difficult to accommodate through a tricky, but manageable reservation. Post pest treatment, extra activity was detected (by the guest). Understanding the perception and discomfort that some may feel, we offered them the ability to leave and get refunded, or stay and receive a 50% refund in rent. They willingly chose the latter. What was really troubling was that after accommodating, they continued to ask for more... which was especially confusing after being overcompensated early in stay and catering to their asks wholly. This lack of teamwork, integrity and respect for the Owner and all involved damages future efforts when going above and beyond to accommodate guests with valid concerns, but unreasonable or changing demands. We've had no issues or shared concerns mirroring this parties with ANY guests since Jared's party. Despite the initial cordial dialogue, we would not be allowed to host again and could not recommend due to a lapse of integrity during the rental period.
