The house was great for a group. Huge living room and plenty of eating space. Well-outfitted kitchen that was easy to cook in with a bunch of people. Lovely property. Highly recommend for a group. Host very communicative and a pleasure to deal with.

Such a beautiful and spacious home, perfect for our family gathering. There was enough room in the large main area to all be together, but also with a TV room and the screened in porch so some people could break off into smaller groups throughout the evening. The fireplace and outdoor fire pit were very nice and the host so generously provided firewood. Would absolutely stay again!

Generally quite comfortable, large rooms, pleasant for a big family. Few problems with the dish washer, the toilets required multiple flushes, the driveway would have been impossible to find had we arrived first after dark, and the dishes were not pleasant to use. Overall we were satisfied.

Great house in a wonderful secluded setting! Everything was clean and we enjoyed the great room with its floor to ceiling windows overlooking the yard; the kitchen was well-equipped and the bedrooms comfortable. We made good use of the porches and firepit which had enough seating for all. Our host, Kristen, was very responsive before, during and after our stay. For example, while planning the trip, she gave me many suggestions for things to do, including restaurants for our vegan niece. She had the dryer replaced within 24 hours of my notifying her that there was a problem. She also mailed a left-behind item to us. I very much appreciate how she took care to make sure we had a good stay.All in all, a terrific place to stay!

Perfect Gathering Place

We could not be more pleased that we chose this wonderful property for our annual family gathering. Communication with the host was so thorough that we knew just what to expect. The gate and door system made check-in easy for the three separate arrivals of our family.The house is beautiful, looking exactly like it does in the photos on VRBO, perfectly clean, and comfortable, from the mattresses to the showers to the towels and linens. My daughter was thrilled to find an extra sink in the kitchen island that she was able to use for her newborn’s equipment. The house offered many areas to gather to talk, play games, and just be together. These included sectional sofas in the great room, the TV room, and the screened in porch. Temperatures in the high 50s at night let us enjoy sitting outside around the fire pit and inside around the fireplace which drew better than any I have ever encountered. We found the area convenient for groceries and restaurants, and visited a farmer’s market, a winery, and an alpaca farm during our stay. Our grandchildren were thrilled to see deer in the early morning, rabbits in the daytime, and fireflies at night. All in all, our gathering could not have been better thanks to the quality and amenities offered by this property.

Wonderful spot to celebrate 50 years of friendship!

Our group of 6 friends from college (we met in 1971) had a wonderful trip to the Hudson Valley, highlighted by our stay at "Hidden Charm". Well-appointed and equipped, we especially loved the peacefulness, the views, the comfort and homey touches (plants, flowers). Kristen was very responsive from the beginning - I loved connecting with her! I would highly recommend this VRBO!

Wonderful property

We stayed here for a family reunion, and the property was great. Secluded and beautiful backyard, and lots of space inside with a ton of sunlight. Kristen was wonderful to work with and very responsive. Thank you for everything!

A Lovely Retreat

The home is spacious and comfortable. The kitchen utility is excellent. The morning bird songs and the evening frogs and toads accompany the view across the valley to the apple groves and the never ending green hillsides. Our stay was relaxed because of the warmth and cool of the house. Hudson Valley being rural and all the places we visited were made all the more pleasant knowing we were returning to this house in this area tucked away in the woods. We would stay, every time.

Lovely pace would visit again

We visited here for my wife’s birthday with friends. Great location, while it’s just a 2 hour drive from the city the property is has a great location with its own privacy and wonderful light lit living room. The place is well stocked with utensils and linens. Host was very responsive and kind.Thank you for creating the wonderful time for us

long weekend

thank you to the host, she was responsive, the home was amazing, clean, secluded, perfect size for our family and the property was beautiful. we loved having 2 beds on the main floor, as my mom is elderly, so no stairs was incredibly convenient. house had all the supplies we needed to cook/clean, so it was just terrific!! Thank you!

Hallmark Christmas

This house was the perfect setting for a family Christmas week. We have outgrown our individual homes so this was the first year we looked for a VRBO for Christmas and I’m unsure that it could have been more perfect than it was. The host, Kristen, was communicative and welcoming. The house was decorated for Christmas, Kristen offered it and we welcomed it. We were able to use the fireplace which was a treat because it was very cold outside. The heat worked fine but the fireplace kept it cozy. The great room surpassed what we expected. There was room for everyone to do their own thing but also for us to spend time together. I can’t say enough about how happy we all were with the stay here.

Christmas celebration

Everything was what the description said it would be. Beautiful home and very secluded. Weather wasn't great so we played games and had a "Chopped" competition. Spacious, well stocked kitchen had enough supplies to z as accomplish this. So much fun!!

Beautiful Weekend Retreat!

This home is lovely! It sits high on a hill surrounded by valleys and farms. The driveway is really a private road leading uphill. We arrived after dark and it is not lighted, so be careful. We had an issue with getting the heat on, our host Kristen was very responsive and fixed the issue quickly. There were 9 of and we had plenty of room! The fireplace was great, and the ping pong porch very popular ( it is in an unheated porch)! There are no stores in the neighborhood, but some good ones a short distance away. We shopped before we got there and didn’t leave the property until the end of our visit. The kitchen and baths are nice. We had a very good time!! Mary

Frankie’s First Down

Kristen was a great host and allowed us to have our son’s 1st birthday party at the house. It was a beautiful house and property. The house was spacious, clean, cozy and had plenty of space to prep for a party. Such a great house for a family getaway. A lot of amenities for kids and family fun. Everyone who attended the party was at aww of how nice the nice the property and house was. Fireplace and fire pit was a great place to relax and enjoy time with family and friends. Highly recommend anyone who is looking for a great house with a great host. Thanks again for allowing us to throw a party and being such a great host!

Hudson Getaway

We enjoyed our stay at this naturally beautiful property, where we had a great time with friends and access to many of the region's attractions. We dined at CIA, visited mansions and walked the mid Hudson Bridge.

Nature Fix

This is a beautiful home in the middle of the woods, and yet all the supplies or restaurants you could need are just a 5-10 minute drive away. Lots of games are there, both inside and outside. It was a large dining room table that fits with the number of possible sleepers in the description.

Great Place to Stay in the Heart of the Hudson Valley

We had a peaceful stay over Labor Day weekend. Our family of 7 stayed comfortably. It is a short drive to Pleasant Valley and convenient to both Poughkeepsie and Millbrook. We would be glad to stay there again.
