This tastefully decorated, well appointed, newly remodeled lake house has everything you, your friends, and your family could ever want in a vacation home! In addition to our three private bedrooms, our bunk room hosts 10 guests, sleeping in two queen sets of bunks and two single beds. Whether you want to build sand castles on the shore, swim in the clear water with firm sand underfoot, fish off the dock or take out the electric pontoon included with your stay, you can spend a week relaxing right here. If you are looking for things to do while on vacation everything is close by. Fantastic restaurants, Silver Lake, shopping, coffee and ice cream shops, bars and golfing. In winter, take a short drive to Nordic Mountain for skiing and tubing or put some tip-ups out and ice fish from the comfort of your chair.

This was the perfect place for our family to stay, relax, make memories and enjoy. The house was beautiful, extremely clean, and our family had so much fun playing in the water, paddle boarding, going in the paddle boat, fishing, and swimming from sun up to sun down. Wendy was amazing host to work with and our family feels very blessed to have had this opportunity to stay. We hope to be back again next year!

A Great Family Time

This was our second year at Lake Life!. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There was a 4.5 inch downpour which caused flooding in the bunk room, but it was contained. Our hosts were quick to engage in the clean-up and stayed until as much water had been extracted as possible. Sand from the beach was eroded into Bughs Lake but Andy smoothed the beach back into shape. There was nothing our hosts could have foreknown nor prevented in this unusual thunderstorm. We enjoyed ourselves and plan to return for a third year, next year.

Wonderful Stay!

Perfect place for our family of 10. The home is beautiful with lots of room to spread out. We all loved the lake. Great swimming, fishing & boating with the included pontoon boat, paddle boat & canoe. We loved our stay!

The Lake House

This was our second stay at the lake house. The property is very nice and the area is quiet. Our grandkids lived in the lake from morning till night. We loved to sit on the deck and just relax.

Family getaway

This lake house was a serene getaway for our family. The amenities that were provided were more than sufficient, and the decor was gorgeous. From the lake toys to the cozy blankets in every room, this was an awesome place to call home for a few days. We would definitely recommend this lake house to anyone looking for a home away from home.

Family getaway

We had a great time on the lake. We enjoyed the house and all of the various gathering areas. The large kitchen table was a wonderful place for all of us to share our meals. We loved the porch and view of the lake. The pontoon was also a very fun option. The owner was very helpful and responsive. Thank you!

Friend NYE Ski Trip

Our group of friends (with kids) stayed here over NYE weekend and we LOVED it. We planned 2 days of skiing/snow-tubing at Nordic Mountain. The decor at this house is amazing and the bunk room fit all our kids very comfortably! They loved having a big sleepover with their friends! The open concept of the house is perfect for a group gathering, family games, and family meals! Highly recommend this location!

BEAUTIFUL!

Beautiful home. Beautiful decor. Beautiful beach. Beautiful lake. My husband, our two dogs, and I thoroughly enjoyed our "staycation" at this beautiful lake house! The owners checked in on our first night and were very prompt in responding the few times we asked anything, even prior to check-in. There are grocery stores, gas stations, and good restaurants within minutes up and down the road. You should book it! (Except when WE want to go back again!) ;)

Family vacation

We enjoyed our time at the lake house. We were able to fish off the dock and take the paddle boat & pontoon out on the lake. We cooked on the grill and enjoyed smores around the fire pit. The younger kids played in the lake near the shore but water was not clear at this time. There are stores and restaurants near by. Over all it was a nice get away and the owner answered any questions we had in a timely manner.

A Much-appreciated Site

We enjoyed gorgeous weather which allowed us to be outside swimming, pontooning, fishing and roasting s'mores. The absence of motorboats meant that children could swim out into lake safely. The house was clean with good space for feeding and sleeping the 9 of us. Back porch was extensively used for conversation and to view swimmers and beach/pier activities. Consensus was that we thoroughly enjoyed the setting and concluded that we should aim to return to it next summer.

Loved this place!

We actually booked this place last min, due to our other VRBO canceling last minute. I am really thankful this was open & the owner was good with responding. This place ended up to be perfect so it all worked out great. This was a family trip with both grandparents. We had 7 adults & 3 kids & a dog. The house was perfect size for everyone to spread out. I loved the non motorized lake with small kids. It was very relaxing. The town is super cute with shops & plenty of grocery & food options. The fishing was good too! Even the kids caught a few. Great stay!!! We would go back.

Unforgettable Family Memories

Our family of eight (5 adults, 3 kids) thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing Memorial Day weekend at this property. * House was located on a quiet street & private lake, and just minutes away from grocery stores, restaurants, and local activities. * Fully stocked kitchen made preparing family meals easy.* Beds were comfortable and outfitted with new linens.* The two bathrooms were nicely decorated and fully stocked with plenty of towels for everyone. * Bunk beds worked out perfectly for our grandkids to spend extra time together. * Lots of room for relaxing, playing games, and watching TV/movies.* The outdoor grill worked well for a cookout and the firepit was an ideal spot for our group of 8 to enjoy s'mores on the beach.* There are many chairs outside for relaxing or stargazing at night.* The kids (and adults) enjoyed fishing from the private dock.* The lake is small, quiet, and easy to explore with the paddle and pontoon boats.The owners were very responsive and answered any questions that we had.We highly recommend the "Lake Life" house and look forward to returning next year!

Perfect tranquil getaway for family w/ kiddos

We stayed here earlier in the summer of 2023 and decided to return for Labor Day weekend. The first trip had 4 different families for a total of 7 kids with 8 adults. The second trip was 3 kids and 6 adults. It was absolutely perfect for the kids to play outside on the swing set, build sand castles in the walk in beach. The lake is no wake (electric motors) so you don’t have to worry about waves washing your kids away. Very clean lake water, albeit there is some seaweed/ Lake Vegetation as would be expected. The large indoor table provides room for the whole party to sit and enjoy your meals together. Very clean, comfy beds, A/C units kept up on some of the hottest summer days. Great place all around and memories will be made!

Beautiful home inside

The home was beautifully decorated and clean. The outside landscaping was overgrown and needed attention. Great outside areas which weren’t as enjoyable because of the overgrowth. Consider posting information as part of checking process within VRBO. For example, had difficulty getting as lock had a specific sequence to follow in addition to passcode to lock and lock. Password for Wi-Fi but not network name. Couldn’t find hair dryer. Not in closet or under bathroom sink. Owner was responsive but rather not need to ask.

Memorial Day Weekend.

We stayed here for Memorial Day weekend. There was 10 of us that stayed here. The house was beautifully decorated and spacious and had everything we needed. Kitchen was stocked with anything you would need to prepare meals.The kids all loved to be able to fish right off the dock, and the pontoon was a nice bonus. Legs hurt from the paddle boat too. There was so many different places to sit inside and outside which was so nice. Back porch was the best. Swing set was perfect for the little one. When we could stop him from running around. Location was amazing, if you forget any thing there are stores and gas stations all around but you would not have known it. We had fire every night, we did bring some, but there was wood provided. We didn’t spend much time inside because the weather was perfect. If we had any questions Dana was right there to answer our questions. I would highly recommend and will be returning. Every one wanted to buy the house! Thank you for allowing us to stay at “ Our Happy Place”.

Perfect Get-A-Way

We just got back from our stay at your beautiful lake house in Wautoma. Everything about your rental exceeded my expectations! I still can't decide what was my favorite part - enjoying a quiet morning cup of coffee on the deck looking out at the lake before everyone else woke up, playing board games at the dining table well into the night or just hanging out with our large group of 9 in the living room! There was plenty of space for everyone to be together and have a great time. The house is beautifully decorated - the pictures don't do it justice. It's clear that alot of thought was put into updating the space. It is both stylish and comfortable. We loved all of the details in each space and kept finding new surprises. The beds were all super comfortable, the kitchen was fully equipped with high-quality appliances and utensils and the house was stocked with everything we needed. While it was too cold for me to swim, the water was clear and looked beautiful. We enjoyed watching wildlife - our May visit was the perfect time to enjoy watching ducklings and the most adorable goslings swimming with their parents around the lake. A few in our group tested their luck fishing using the electric pontoon that came with the rental. The fishermen in the group will definitely be back! It was a great day for fishing. Thanks for letting us stay at your beautiful lake house! We hope to be back someday!

Making New Memories Up North at The Lake House

This girls trip was a combination of reminiscing summers on the lake cottage in Mt Morris nearby, teaching the new generations about “lake life”, celebrating friendships through the fun times and the hardest of times, a 50th birthday, and celebrating all things ‘Sconie. Dana’s Lake House was a paradise to stay at. We enjoyed most of our time outside in the water or on the beach, but there were many afternoon naps taken in the cool, depths of her beautifully decorated home. The kitchen was a hub with a layout that with 4 moms and kids milling about, worked well. Many board games were played at the kitchen table at night and during a summer afternoon shower. We enjoyed s’mores and cocktails by the fire in the evening, and coffee and good talks in the morning on the patio or end of the pier. The kids always found something to do (3 7 yr olds) wether it be jumping off the float, fishing, playing on the swing set, looking at ladybugs and inchworms on the beautiful plants, or picking up toads named Howard after a rainstorm…the words “I am bored” were never uttered. We enjoyed restaurants that have been around for generations. Custard! At the Milty Wilty, the kids loved it and the Sylvercryst for a fish fry. There are quaint shops for gifts, and the Piggly Wiggly (grocery store) has an in-house butcher shop with specialty meats, sausages, and seasonings to buy. Cheese curds, too! And when the day ended, every bed was like sinking into a soft cloud. A truly magical trip!

Beautiful remodel, but needs a few tweaks!!

Our first impression was that this was not the place...we knew the inside was quite nice but the landscaping was in quite a mess. There are 7 garden areas that are just filled with weeds. Spend the money and get rid of the weeds and put in mulch. It would be so nice!! Too many dishes and glasses!! Set the extras in the bar area if someone needs them! All the cupboards were fille with the glasses and plates. No place to put boxed or canned food, cereal or snacks at all. We moved the over abundance of dishes to make room for our stuff (and put them right back when leaving). Only ONE fry pan!!! Large and bowl shaped. It was Not appropriate for making pancakes...and then what do you cook the sausage in?? Or hashbrowns?? No colander to drain anything. No rubber spatulas. Only two hand towels for the bathrooms (one hand towel for each!) And only two dish towels and dish cloths. We needed to wash them mid way through! And have a waste basket by the washer and dryer. You need something to put the lint into! No firepit tools at all! The pontoon boat seats are in serious need of repair. Duct tape does not fix the wear and tear of them. Someone had to hold the awning up since the bar was missing and one side needed a rope or something. Put in a shoe/boat tray by the front door. And some coat hooks. We arrived in a down pour and the thin rug was not sufficient for the wet shoes. And where do we put our wet coats?? Despite all of the above we did enjoy our
