The Kodiak Lodge is located on the ski slope at Tahoe Donner Ski Area in beautiful Truckee, CA. and provides a true Ski In Ski Out experience at Tahoe Donner. Step outside put your skis or snowboard on and you're off on a downhill adventure. This unique custom crafted log home includes 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen, cozy and comfortable loft with cable television & 60” flat screen TV, a spacious living room with a river rock fire place as it’s center piece and 180 degree views of the ski slope and adjoining mountains, 2 car garage, living level wrap around deck with views of the ski slope, deck off of master bedroom with hot-tub, game room complete with Air Hockey, Foosball, competition shuffleboard table, pinball machine, and Xbox / PS3 game consoles (games not included), wide range of DVD's and books for adults and children, WIFI wireless internet, and a brand new back-up generator with automatic transfer switch ensuring you'll never know if the power is out!

While staying at the Kodiak Lodge you’ll enjoy guest access to all the amenities that Tahoe Donner Association has to offer including downhill & cross country skiing, snowboarding, sledding at the SnowPlay area, heated swimming, fitness center, horseback riding, golf, tennis, biking, hiking, dining at Pizza on the Hill or The Lodge, The Grill, and the Beach Club at Donner lake which includes swimming, boating, sailing, fishing, and stand-up paddle boarding (SUP). From the Kodiak Lodge, you can ski or snowboard down the mountain to The Grill (a restaurant equipped with a full bar) and also purchase lift tickets.

Awesome ski-in-ski-out Condo at Tahoe Donner

This is our 2nd time staying at the Kodiak lodge to ski Tahoe Donner. Simply awesome! Couldn't ask for a better ski house for our family with 2 young kids that love to ski. Can't wait to come back again next year!

Skiers delight!

Location, location, location! For a weekend of skiing at Tahoe Donner, it doesn’t get better than this! And the game room in the basement was perfect for sending the kids off to when they wake up too early.... :) We loved being able to ski in and out, watch the slopes from the balcony and cozy up by the fireplace or soak in the hot tub after a long day in the snow. A couple minor improvements I would suggest: A few more larger pots and pans in the kitchen..... trying to cook spaghetti for 7 people was tough because there wasn’t a pot large enough to boil it in. Television set ups are challenging.... so many remotes to so many various devices.... took us til the 3rd night to figure out how to get Netflix to work on any one of the 3 televisions..... and we’re reasonably tech savvy folks. Again, just some suggestions for improvements but nothing that detracted from our wonderful stay! Definitely hope to return!

Wonderful ski week at Kodiak Lodge

Staying at Kodiak Lodge was magical! The living room and dining area had a gorgeous panoramic view across the Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Resort. There is a really fun game room with air hockey, shuffle board, etc. that our family really enjoyed. And a shout-out to the management and owner for being so responsive and flexible in letting us re-schedule due to the stay-at-home orders.

Fantastic Family Ski-in-Ski-out House

My family had a fantastic ski weekend here. You can't beat the Kodiak lodge in terms of location for ski-in ski-out. The log craftsmanship is first-class, and the house is very well suited for families with small kids - low handrails for the stairs, a library of great children's books, the game room, and a spectacular deck. We're coming back for sure!

Beautiful!

This is wonderful place for a family! It has tons of amenities, is super clean, and has amazing views! I loved sitting on the deck every morning with my coffee - and in the evenings for dinner. It is a great place to reconnect with family without having to go anywhere! Highly recommend!

Perfect place for the family

The house is amazing, especially for families. Probably the best parts are the views, the game room and the proximity to Tahoe Donner ski area. Our family had a blast and will definitely look to book again.

Winter wonderland

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property. What a great location! You can enjoy superb views of the Donner slopes. The house was well stocked with everything and very comfortable indeed. The owner's instructions were detailed and extremely helpful. We definitely intend to come back one day!

Great family stay

We had a great stay at the Kodiak Lodge. Our kids, age 6 and 8, loved the game room. We loved the view of the slopes, and the ability to ski in and out. The run outside the house is green, so even our kids who were learning to ski, they could ski in with our help. Also the house has a great spot for sledding! The host was very responsive and the whole check-in process was easy.

AMAZING!

We rented this home for 3 nights and will be back again and again! The home itself is absolutely beautiful and has everything you need. It is right in the ski hill and we had a wonderful vacation. The owners were kind and accommodating.

Beautiful cabin with excellent view of ski lifts

My family and I enjoyed staying in this cabin over Christmas. The Game room, fireplace, and hot tub did not disappoint. The owners quickly respond to any messages. We will definitely be staying here again in the future.

Kodiak Lodge

If you have young children or beginning to intermediate level skiers this is the best place to stay on the west coast. It is very well equipped, ON the ski run and loaded with things to do with the family. It's got a game room , hot tub, plenty of snow toys and a back up generator for those frequent power failures. It easily sleeps 8-10. Our family loves this place.

Well-appointed turnkey experience

We booked this home for a long weekend as a chance for my wife, our 9 month old son, and my mom to have a chance to unplug for some quality family time for a few days. The property does not disappoint - it's located directly on the slopes of Tahoe Donner, and while we didn't ski, doing so would be incredibly easy without ever having to get into a vehicle. The roads were also well maintained (including the driveway), despite the fact that the area received over 30" of snow in the first 36 hours of our arrival. The home itself - everything is in "like new" condition and you can tell the owners have families with kids of all ages in mind. There's a veritable Blockbuster Video (RIP) sized library of dvds for adults and kids, and books and toys that cater to little ones (think Lincoln Logs, alphabet books, etc). Downstairs, there's also a separate game room with a big screen tv and xbox, pinball machine, shuffle board, fooseball, and air hockey. My wife and I had a ton of fun just having a date night in the game room our second night when we were snowed in. Notably, there's also an extremely well-maintained hot tub on the private deck off the master suite. I don't believe this is mentioned in the listing but it's a huge plus and was really nice. Amber was also extremely proactive in her communications and we never felt uncertain about any aspect of our stay nor did we get the sense any issues would go unresolved (we didn't have any). We highly recommend this property for anyone with kids looking for a great getaway and will certainly be back again in the future.

Great place

We stayed here with 10 people and there was plenty of room in this beautiful log cabin. We ate in practically every meal and found the kitchen well stocked. Kids had a blast in the game room. If you are coming here to ski and have your equipment, it truly is ski-in & out. If you need to rent, you'll need to drive over to get your gear though - it's too far to walk through the snow.

This place is together!

The house is well equipped with an outstanding " on the slopes" location. The resort is very family friendly and I highly recommend it for families with young children learning how to ski. When looking at the few houses that line the slopes from the chairlift, this is the nicest one by far. The owner knows how to set up a house for families to have a memorable vacation. Brad Wiles
