Overall, we were disappointed with our stay. The listing photos made the property appear much nicer than it actually is.One of our biggest frustrations was discovering that towels were not provided and guests were expected to bring their own. Had I noticed that before booking, I would have chosen a different property. The home had a musty, tired smell rather than the fresh, clean feeling we expect from a vacation rental. The furniture also felt worn and in need of updating. The layout was unusual, with some bedrooms opening directly into other bedrooms, making privacy difficult. The bathrooms were extremely small, and the narrow, creaky stairways required extra caution because of the low head clearance.During our stay, portions of the upstairs repeatedly lost power, requiring us to reset the breaker several times. The host promptly arranged for an electrician to come out, but the cause of the problem was not found, and the issue continued throughout our stay. The host did provide a 200 refund to compensate us for the inconvenience, which we appreciated.Communication with the host was generally courteous, although responses were not as prompt as we’ve experienced with other VRBO rentals. On the positive side, the beds were comfortable, the location was convenient and close to town, and the home has a large deck, a spacious backyard with a fire pit, and attractive front landscaping.
