Escape to the beach for the best vacation ever. 3 bdrm 2 bath private beach-side home is reminiscent of the rich history of the St Augustine and East Coast beach homes. It has been deeply remodeled for comfort and the most modern conveniences to help create a special vacation experience. And it is all on one level (one bedroom has four steps).
The Mermaid Cottage is located in a quiet, highly regarded and admired beach neighborhood with a laid-back atmosphere that allows you and your family to spend lots of time enjoying this nature filled beach location. Established in an eclectic mix of old Florida cottages and contemporary homes, it is just one block from one of the several deeded beach access walk-on boardwalks leading to one of the best beaches on the East Coast. It is on a full lot that runs from one street to another providing additional privacy, free parking and access. We are pet friendly and children love this cottage. (Remind them to count the mermaids and enter their count in the guest book.) There is a one time pet fee. Just include pets when telling us how many family members or friends.
There are several desk areas in this home to work or learn remotely. The WiFi is super fast fiber optic and extremely reliable and secure.
Relax listening to the ocean on the covered porch overlooking the completely fenced front yard or enjoy the backyard deck for grilling, entertaining, relaxing and sunning. In addition, there is an upper deck that is perfect for sunning, entertaining and enjoying the ocean breezes and views. You are an easy 3-minute stroll to the beach and less than a mile from the intra-coastal waterway and Windswept Beach Park with children’s playground and fitness track. You are 7 miles from historic downtown St. Augustine on A1A, 2 miles from the AMP and Marineland is just 10 miles south on A1A.
The open Living Room, Dining Room, Kitchen floor plan allows The Mermaid Cottage to live big and easily all on one floor. The Living Room has a 46” HD satellite TV, two sofas (one is a queen size bed sofa). There is also a fully stocked desk area complete with printer. (Located by the slider door so you can listen to the ocean while you work.) All bedrooms have extremely comfortable beds. The MB has a king size bed and a 40” HD TV. The second bedroom has two twin beds with a kit to easily convert them to a king size bed. The third bedroom (which is actually a 2nd Master Bdrm) has a king bed, sitting area with love seat, HD TV and another desk area (perfect for conference calls or quieter work or school). The two master bedrooms are located on different ends of the house making it a great house for two couples or older children. All bedrooms have blackout drapes to help ensure a great nights sleep. Our home is fully equipped, very comfortable and very well decorated with lots of original art. A large, newly remodeled and fully equipped kitchen allows you to easily prepare meals at home when you choose.
We’ve provided lots of little extras to make your vacation memorable and the most fun.
We are very “hands on” with our property and make The Mermaid Cottage our home during the winter. The Pearl Cottage next door is often available to rent at the same time for larger family/friend gatherings at the beach. It provides another opportunity to vacation with friends and family and still have privacy. The two backyards can open to one another when rented together.
