Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: WE loved out stay at Wild Dunes! As previous reviews have mentioned, this property would benefit from some cleanliness updates in the areas of toilet seats, shower caulking and wall paint. These things are very important to renters. Even though thoroughly clean, these made the property feel dirty. Overall, we had a wonderful stay in this lovely, spacious home!

Pros: excellent space, great distance to the beach, very spacious. Cons: the pool needs vacuumed at least once a day due to the debris from all the trees, the place is dated. Also the beach access closest to the house was closed. So there's that. And the location in wild dunes is quite far from the center. You can rent a golf cart but you can't really drive it to the beach, so really there's no point. The oven took 40 minutes to preheat. And finally, there is a musty smell all throughout the house. The ac masks it a little but it's quite overpowering.

There was plenty of space and the location close to the beach was ideal. The pool was clean and got a lot of use. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home layout was great for 7 people. It is spacious and has adequate # of beds for 7. The home is dated, carpets very worn & stained throughout, walls very dirty and in need of a fresh coat of paint. We have chalked it up to end of season. There is no beach access for this house as both in the Beachwood neighborhood are blocked off and closed. The home is advertised and priced as being “steps” from ocean. We ended up walking several blocks which consisted of cutting through a condo parking area and pool area and using their access. Thankfully no one called us out on this. I brought it to the rental agent’s attention day one. I’m surprised they were unaware. If you have mobility issues, and want to be steps from beach, this is not the house for you. Our trip was fun because we enjoy each other’s company! The kitchen table is where we found ourselves most nights.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very comfortable house but definitely could use some updating. The refrigerator needs to be replaced. The freezer does not freeze good. The stove needs to be maintained, the gas eyes would not work well. The outside pine straw needs to be sprayed for mosquitoes really bad. We are from GA so we know mosquitoes and we spray our home. Some of kitchen pans need to be replaced. I would definitely put a tv over fireplace . Our entire family watches a movie together at night and it was hard to see on the cabinet. LOVED location to beach and the layout of house. Just minor updates needed! Great time was had by all!!

This home is not only spacious and beautiful, but very cozy with a fully stocked kitchen and plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Within walking distance to the beach we were able to enjoy the sunset and salt air.

A spacious, well appointed house that feels like home!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We could not have asked for a more perfect rental home for our long weekend. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. The house has a spacious living area and a perfect, well stocked kitchen and dinning area where we gathered each night for long conversation and fun. The beds are very comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet, allowing for relaxing morning coffee and evening cocktails on the comfortable screened in porch I almost did not rent this home based on a prior review. Island Realty was exceptional to work with and assured me that if I was not happy with the home upon arrival they would get us into another available home. I must say that the review was not what we found at all and I think it was a completely unfair, unfortunate review of this home. Sure, the house has dated decor, but it was beautiful and clean! There is a walkway steps from the home that takes you straight to the beach and the neighborhood is perfect for morning walks. Our family and friends couldn’t have asked for a better home for our stay and would not hesitate to rent again when we’re back in town.

Disappointment

Reviewer Comments: The house itself was beautiful, however, there was a lack of TLC. The pool pump was screeching when we pulled up. Maintenance sent over the pool team, who was aware of the problem, the pump was never fixed, and the pool was never cleaned during our stay. We wanted this place because of the pool, and were unable to use it because of the pump, and it was mosquito infested. The lack of cleanliness was quite evident with dust hanging from ceiling lights, dust on returm air duct, filthy fan over cooktop. Toilets and tubs were dirty, as well. There was black mold particularly in the Jack and Jill tub. There were soiled carpets all over the upstairs and one burn hole we found. The microwave was rusty, and the refrigerator looked like it had been thru a war. The ice maker did not work. one of the twin bedframes was quite wobbly. There were nail pops on the stairs. The TV in the media room would not come on. We really like Wild Dunes in IOP. We have already scheduled GrandPavilion 28 for next Sept. We had stayed there once before and it was great.

As stated previously over the weeks the ice maker in the refrigerator is not working and this was again reported . Screen door on the porch screen has torn letting in mosquitoes . The pool was cleaned on Thursday . Very nice pool but mosquitoes are plentiful . It never rained last week during our stay and they were still a lot . We never saw the sign entrance at Wild Dunes say when they did spraying and don’t believe stapling was done entire week . We loved all the room we had for our family of 7 in this house !!!

I had stayed there 15 or so years ago and I was very dissatisfied, kitchen did not have sufficient cooking equipment, refrigerator needed to be replaced as several things were super glued on to hold it together. Bathroom had mold in the showers. Pool was never cleaned while we were there. For the money we paid to stay there we expected more.

It fit our needs just right; from weekend visitors to a small gathering of good friends. Each bedroom was well equipped, as was the full kitchen. We had a few very minor maintenance issues, and the Island Realty team responded immediately! Loved it, and would absolutely do it again!

Much Better Than Expected

The pool was awesome and my wife and kids loved it. We woke up every morning watching deer cross our yard. This house is very close to the beach and has games, large tv's and loads of space for large families. Island Realty always does an awesome job accommodating us and we cannot wait to return to Wild Dunes.

Disappointed in house

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: 10 Beachwood West has the potential to be a wonderful house. The two positives for us were the quick walk to the beach and the fact that the AC worked great. Otherwise we were disappointed. The kitchen appliances were all outdated and none of them worked properly. The oven door did not close all the way, and the settings were tricky to use. There was a note explaining how to get them to work. When we turned on one unit on the gas cooktop all the units lit. There was also a note explaining this would happen and how to “fix” it. We did not feel it was safe to use. The worst appliance, however, was the refrigerator, It wobbled when opened and we had been using the ice and drinking water from the water dispenser in the door, until the second day when we noticed the dispenser itself was black with mildew and most likely mold. It was honestly quite gross. There was a smell of mildew in many rooms of the house. The house had two nice screened porches but we were unable to use either because the cushions were mildewed. The front rockers had paint peeling from the seats so we couldn’t use those.Towels were very limited. When we called we were told we only received one per person. But even then we still didn’t have enough washcloths and handtowels for each person and the half baths. The linens were old and the pillows were flat as pancakes. The linens on one bed were put on inside out and top sheet upside down. It didn’t appear much attention to detail was given to this house. If there were changes made and it was updated the house would be a great house, In our almost 30 years of coming to Wild Dunes this was the second worse house we have stayed in. I really hate being so negative but want other potential renters to know what to expect.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful stay at Beachwood West 10. The house was clean and well appointed. It was spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed the pool and it was a quick and easy walk to the beach.
