Hello Soon to be relaxed beach goers!

Charming beach house, 4 bedrooms, kitchen, social living room, dining room, and huge deck overlooking vast field. 1.5 baths, outdoor shower, private lot, internet, internet tv, bikes, beach chairs, boogie boards, SUPs, garden, games. One block from the beach and bay. Supermarket, restaurants and bars close by. Ocean Beach restaurants, shops, and bars one mile away. Sunken Forest National Park one mile away. This is a classic beach house built in 1904 with all of the charm. It is not a modern house. (Please read reviews to get an idea of the vibe).

No group rentals. There is the VRBO rental agreement and ours. This is not a party house. Fire Island is for fun. BBQs, hanging out with family and friends but we respect our neighbors. Groups of singles, blasting music or large parties are not permitted. Please do not rent if that is what you are looking for. However, if you are a family or mellow group of couples please check it out.

6 night min stay: Check in 3:30pm , Check Out 11am (you can usually leave bags on the deck and use the outdoor shower on checkout day while cleaning people come to extend your stay). Dogs okay with fee.

Fred showed us welcome and care! House was perfect for our group and felt homey while giving people enough privacy. The use of the amenities was great and everything was well-stocked from kitchenware to beach chairs. The yard was private and shaded. Great stay!

We had an incredible week staying at Fred and Kat's property. They were always quick to respond to any questions and the directions/information sheet was very clear and helpful. The house was perfect and charming, and they even left us a bottle of Prosecco, which was such a lovely welcome surprise. We loved all of the art around the house, the kitchen was awesome and well-stocked, and all of the bedrooms were cute and comfortable. The back porch was wonderful with an awesome view, and there were so many different seating options both inside and outside. Everyone's favorite part was probably the outdoor shower. Kat and Fred allowed us to check out much later than the original time, as no one was checking in later that day, which was so awesome. My family had the best, most relaxing week, and I really hope we are able to return next summer!!

Charming Beach Cottage

Our family enjoyed our stay and loved how close we were to the ocean! The shed was fully stocked with all the essentials we needed for our time spent on the beach. The outdoor shower was a highlight of everyone’s stay. The backyard deck had plenty of seating and we enjoyed most of our meals out there. The listing photos are accurate in that there aren’t any true couches inside to sit on. The living room has a few benches with cushions on them, so not the most comfortable setup for relaxing inside. In our experience during the summer months, the bunkbed room was unfortunately too hot to sleep in. This room also houses the water heater and dryer so it was more of a utility room turned bedroom that had poor ventilation and a free standing AC unit that was not blowing cool air at the time of our stay. But if you can fit your group in the other three rooms you may not end up needing this room as a bedroom. Overall, though, it was an enjoyable stay with family.

Paradise

We spend several splendid fall weeks at this house working and doing remote school during COVID - the internet speed was fantastic - and so was everything else!!! Communication with Fred, Kat and Jodi was quick and easy - they are amazing and very attentive. The house is perfect for spreading out (the bedrooms are on the 4 corners) but also great for coming together for a meal or a family movie! The outdoor deck is fantastic and very big - our favorite pastime was swinging the the hammock, gathering for a meal and playing games. The outdoor shower was great - we never used the indoor shower. The kitchen was well appointed (and the lack of dishwasher wasn't as horrible as we expected!). The house really has every amenity - Tommy Bahama beach chairs, boogie boards, loads of towels and bed linens, even a Ninja blender - everything you need to have a great time! We had a fantastic time and hope to return again!!

Amazing hosts and beautiful stay

The hosts of this property are amazing communicators and so helpful! We were a group of six adults and one year-old infant and needed to understand if there was any equipment for babies in the house (there was a pack and play and a seat that attaches to the table). The owners communicated both through messages and by calling me to discuss our needs. While on the phone, I got a ton of useful information about the house, the neighborhood and Fire Island in general. It was amazing. Because there were no renters just before and after us, they invited us to enter early and leave late so we were able to enjoy the house for a little longer. I have never engaged with such lovely hosts! As for the house, it had everything you need for a stay in Fire Island. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked, with every utensil you can imagine and a variety of spices. The hosts also left us a lovely welcome bottle of wine. There were beach and bath towels, bikes, beach chairs, a beach umbrella, boogie board, board games, and more. The location was great - just about a block and a half from the ocean and a couple of blocks from the bay, a convenience store, ice cream, pizza, and restaurants. Ocean Bay Park is a quiet town and we liked it that way. The beaches are lovely and uncrowded and don't miss the Sunken Forest. A wonderful stay in Fire Island! Thanks, Kat and Fred!

Great time on Fire Island

The description of the house was accurate. The house was spacious and came with bikes, beach chairs, boogie boards and more to enjoy. A few small issues that the homeowners were able to quickly resolved. My family and I had a great stay and would stay again

A hidden gem

I’ve been renting in fire island for 15 years plus. This was an exceptional house . So much character , so clean, so comfortable ! The premier beach house in my opinion ! The outdoor shower is the bomb . The deck and views exceptional ! Comfie beds, complete kitchen , sufficient air conditioning ! I think they thought of everything down to games, books and beach chairs and sup’s! A true gem !!!

Perfect Vacation Spot

My family and I really enjoyed this house. It is such a cute and very spacious beach cottage. Steps from the ocean. It has everything you could possibly need. Very clean. Owners are fantastic! Very responsive. I highly recommend this property!

Great family beachtown getaway

Beautifully kept cozy home. Excellent location. Jeff and Kat could not have been easier or more of a pleasure to deal with as owners. They have thought of everything and provide all you need. Our group was 2 new grandparents, 4 children ( 2 married, 1 about to be and 1 1yr old grand daughter). everyone was comfortable and all had a blast. Comfortable inside, great deck, and great ODS. We all want to return!

Exceeded expectations

Can’t say enough about this trip. Fred and Kat were helpful and super responsive. They were flexible on arrival and departure times. House itself was fantastic and the worked for our two small families. 4 adults and 3 kids. Lots of extras, like many bike choices, games, welcome bottle of Rose, outside shower, grille, beach chairs, umbrellas, bike night flashlights, and spacious deck and more. Bedroom varieties make it easy to accommodate everyone. Kids loved the bunk beds. Everything worked and was in great shape. Location convenient location to beach end ferry and Schooner Inn. Thanks for a great vacation !

Ocean Bay Park Cottage steps from the Ocean!

My family and I greatly enjoyed our recent week long stay at this ocean beach cottage. Location is fantastic as it is only a few houses from the sand, and right down the block from the market when needed. The 4 bedrooms are well spaced from each other and the kitchen is spacious enough that you never feel crowded in. Everybody loved the spacious yet quaint living/dining area, and the back deck with no neighboring house behind it looks over a vast field offering outstanding sunrise views and more importantly air movement on those hot summer days and nights. The house is right off the street, convenient to everything, but tucked back behind a private gate so you feel that you are secluded. It was also fantastic that the house came with plenty of beach chairs, a stand up paddle board, kayak, and most importantly plenty of bikes for riding over to neighboring Ocean Beach for eating out and shopping. Pack less and save money on rentals! Great week at Fred’s Ocean Bay Park cottage!

Perfect week at the beach

We had the best week in OBP. The house was in the perfect location. Close to the Pantry, Restaurants and the beach. House was clean, kitchen is huge. Everything was just as described in the listing. Outdoor shower is perfect. Never even used the inside shower (even on the day it rained). Plenty of chairs, bikes, beach toys etc. Fred was incredibly responsive with any and all questions. Would highly recommend.

wonderful time

My family and friends enjoyed the property. The proximity to the beach, pantry, and restaurants is perfect. It is also feels like you are very secluded, making it also quiet and peaceful. We would recommend this home to further renters.

Perfect Beach Getaway

Even with the restraints of Covid-19, we were able to have a nice relaxing couple of days at the beach. The house was fully equipped with anything you needed to have a great day in the sun. We enjoyed cooking our meals at the house and had more than we needed to entertain. I am so happy Fred and Kat let us borrow their home for our stay. Highly recommend!!!

Wonderful home!

This property was wonderful for our party of 10 for a family reunion. The rooms had a perfect setup. The half bathroom came in handy with 4 kids and we loved the outdoor shower! The kitchen is well appointed and had everything we needed and provided lots of rooms for cooking. The deck was absolutely perfect with lots of space to hang out day or night and ample room for all of us to relax, eat and play games in separate spaces. The grill was very nice and clean. There are plenty of bikes on the property, beach chairs, umbrellas and beach toys. We loved the location - it felt quiet and private. The property’s location provides quick and easy access to the ocean beach, bay beach and a couple of local restaurants. The Owners were so kind to us and so quick in their responses to any questions. They provided us with a lot of suggestions for things to do and things to bring and they all proved helpful. We had such a wonderful trip and it really was in such large part due to this home. Thank you so much!

Family getaway

My family and I rented the house for a long weekend and the house was absolutely perfect. It had everything we needed and more. The house was the perfect distance from everything and really allowed us to connect. The owners communicated well and were so helpful. I would absolutely rent from them again, we will definitely be back.

Great location!

Cute house so close to the beach and right next to a market and some bars which we frequently visited. The house is small but fits 10 comfortably and has a great outdoor patio. The owners were very professional and great to rent from.

Beautiful and conveniently located home.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was perfect for our families. The home is welcoming and tastefully appointed. It manages to be close to everything without ever getting too noisy. Hosts are responsive and kind.

Fantastic time, cute little beach house!

THANK YOU!! For such a great trip – we could not have picked a more perfect home. the house is awesome, full of charm, character and love. We can tell this is a home and not just any old vacation house, and you feel welcome and safe. The small touches throughout the house were unbelievable, from the shells on the outdoor table, the stone faces on the mantle, the jaba the hut wood, the deck lights, just everything. Nothing crazy high tech like those new houses, just your regular beachy beach house with everything you could need for your beach vacation! Working with Kat was such a pleasure and if i had any questions she was quick to answer! We are so happy to have experienced this home and will certainly be using them again!!

Perfect Getaway!

I stayed here for 6 wonderful, relaxing days and I am looking forward to renting again. The house is in a great location; SO close to the beach, a quick 3 minute walk to the ferry and both of the main restaurants/bars on the island. The large deck feels so private and set back from everything. It was so nice to all be together eating meals and relaxing on the deck over looking the large field next door. The house had everything we could have asked for; especially in the kitchen and felt like home right away. The owners/renters were so nice, professional and accommodating! This really is an excellent place to spend a week with family and friends.

Great spot and great price

I had an amazing college reunion with my 5 girlfriends. Sweet and cozy and so welcoming we felt comfortable as soon as we walked in. Very complete kitchen for cooking, the best outdoor shower ever, walking distance to everything, perfect location for a great 3 mile run, wonderful shops and restaurants, overlooking a beautiful field where deer gather every evening and morning. We will be going back for sure.
