This property stands in one of the beautiful Victorian terraces that still grace the town. The quiet location is still only a few steps from bars and restaurants. The cottage is ideal for 4 people and has been modernised while retaining its quaint character and old world cosiness.Carraig Beg stands in Market Street, one of the historic lanes in the heart of Kenmare. It is an end house in one of the beautiful Victorian terraces that still grace the town. The quiet back street location is just a stone's throw from Kenmare's wealth of restaurants and bars. All amenities and services are close at hand but sitting in the sun in the rear garden, the hustle and bustle of the town seems light years away.

Lovely Townhouse

My wife & I stayed spent our time in Kenmare at this centrally located townhouse. Furnished just like your own home, comfortable, spacious, nice bedrooms and ensuite. We had an amazing time - when we come back will stay here again. Ronald

Home from Home

Carrig Beag is more of a real home than a holiday home. It is a very comfortable, easily manageable house. Very quiet location yet only a two minute walk from the centre of town. The town itself has a number of classy restaurants and some very enjoyable pubs.

Disappointing.

Don't like to leave negative reviews but I wouldn't like anyone else to have the same experience that I had. Lovely house from the outside and great location. However upon entering the building, it was cold, damp and there was a stale smell. All windows were letting air in, they need fixing. There's a gap under the front door that you could fit your hand under. Bed uncomfortable, no ventilation in the ensuite, crap towels. I tried to cancel the booking a week before we were due to arrive as there was 4 of us meant to be going, but due to a bereavement two people couldn't attend. I was met with the reply "what did you bother booking it for if you weren't able to come". So let's just say it was a very expensive weekend and I couldn't wait to get home.

Good house in good place

The house is really confortable with all you can need to a perfect stay. The place is quiet but the stores and the pubs are really near. Totally recomendable!

The property we keep going back to !

We have been back to Carrig Beag many times, it’s fantastic! This perfectly located cottage is full of charm and only a 2 minute walk to the center if town.yet in a really quiet location. Everything you could need is provided and it’s spotless clean always.

Perfect!!

This is a lovely, cosy cottage with all mod cons ideally situated a minute’s stroll to the center of Kenmare. Great water pressure, WiFi, private parking, washer and dryer - everything perfect. Jer is a great guy, communicated before arrival with check in instructions and some very useful information on the area (which is stunning). Highly recommend booking Carrig Beag and hope to return.

Great unit with exceptional location

Very nice unit, older building outside with modern inside. We were there for over two weeks and was greatly impressed with the unit and the location was right downtown, a minute walk to downtown pubs and shops. Was able to walk everywhere. Had good WiFi, satellite tv for those days staying in the condo. Washer and dryer was also great. The towel heaters in the bathrooms were great. As you can see this unit has a lot to offer, would definitely stay there again.

OK but in need of a refresh

Kenmare is a lovely friendly town and the restaurants are excellent. The house is in a great location and perfectly set up for a family. However I would say that there’s not a great deal for children to do in the area. Though the house was furnished with everything we needed, the first impression was unfortunately a damp and musty feeling. It was all clean on the surface but under beds and sofas was very dusty, teacloths were smelly once wet and towels were a bit old. A bit of a shame. Feels like it’s in need of a refresh.

Eine schöne Unterkunft in einer Top Lage direkt zum Zentrum von Kenmare. Abends sehr viele Möglichkeiten um zu Fuß Restaurants und Bars in großer Auswahl zu finden. Unser Ansprechpartner stand kurzfristig für Fragen und Probleeme zur Verfügung. Wir würden in unserem nächsten Urlaub in Irland diese Unterkunft wieder buchen.

Review of Carraig Beag

The house is within walking distance of the main street with restaurants, pubs and bars. Unfortunately, at night (especially on weekends) there is some noise from celebrating teens and returning passers-by. In addition, there was some noise from early in the morning by tractors with trailers for rock transport and delivering trucks to the restaurants. After seeing the pictures on the homepage, we expected more from the house. It was not clean, on the ground floor were many dead woodlice and spider webs. The bedroom, living room, the kitchen and the tea towels smelled very bad. The mattresses in the master bedroom were shorter than the bed. Some furniture looked compiled and some lamps were damaged. A plus is the private parking behind the house. Kenmare is a great location to explore the Ring of Kerry and Ring of Beara.

Ideal holiday facility.

Located in a quiet street, yet very close to the town centre, which has numerous lively bars and a surprisingly high number of classy Michelin listed restaurants. Carig Beag has a very homely comfortabe feel. All highly recommended.

This is a fantastic cottage located literally a minute away from the Main Street in Kenmare and it’s still a lovely quiet residential street. Everything you could want if you’re visiting Kerry. We keep returning and always book Carrig Beag.

Fantastic location and an ideal property for any type of break in Kenmare.

We had a fantastic week away in Kenmare and stayed in Carrig Beag. It was a great property ideally located just 2 minutes walk from Henry St and yet in a very quiet area of the town. It was equipped with everything one could possibly need, immaculately clean and had a private parking space behind the house. We’ll definitely book Carrig Beag again.

Short stay in lovely Carrig Veag

We spent a number of days in October in Carrig Beag. The house is centrally located within walking distance of all amenities . There is a very spacious kitchen/dining room with all mod cons. The house heats up very quickly which makes it very comfortable and relaxing . The bedrooms are spacious with a large onsuite n the master. Off street parking is a definite advantage. The proprietor Jer is a most kind and accommodating gentleman . He showed us great kindness and generosity during our stay which is greatly appreciated. Should you visit Kenmare, Carraig Beag is an ideal location.

Angenehmes Haus, ausgezeichnete Lage

Wir waren bereits zum dritten mal im Carrig Beag. Wir schätzen das wohnliche Haus, die Lage, die Nähe zu den Restaurants und Geschäften in Kenmare sowie den guten Service sehr. Kenmare bietet eine ausgezeichnete Ausgangslage für unterschiedlichste Ausflüge im Südwesten von Irland. Gerne kommen wir wieder.

Great Break Away

This is a beautiful cottage set literally two minutes walk to the centre of town yet in a very quiet area, perfect for a break away. The property is very well equipped with every modern convenience and private parking. We will definitely stay in Carrigaline Beag again.

No hot water

The best thing about the property was its location - ideally placed for exploring the rings of beara and Kerry and for popping into town for a meal/drink. The main problem was that the boiler wasn't working. With the help of Jer we limped through the week until it was finally fixed the day before we left. Other comments: the kitchen cupboards contained random bits of food. It is helpful to have basics only e.g. salt and pepper, but there was so much stuff it was hard to get ours in. for the price we would have expected everything to be up together e.g. various bulbs not working, lampshade missing.

Dirty over priced house

Very disappointed with the dirt of this house. It in no way matched the presentation from the website. Filthy bed covers, smelly T towels, dead wood lice and cobwebs in the living room, are examples of the issues with the house. The whole place needs a deep clean and uplift to match what Kenmare Rentals are selling to unsuspecting holiday makers. Shame.

Kenmare is an ideal base to explore, the South West of Ireland . Co. Kerry, with the Ring of Kerry, Muckross House, and the Gap of Dunloe on your doorstep, as well as the beautiful Ring of Beara in Co. Cork, which starts in Kenmare.
