2 bedroom townhouse type duplex house there are 2 bedrooms with large landing along with the bathroom upstairs. Bathroom has just been totally updated to make more functional. One bedroom has 1 twin bed and one full size bed. The other has a king size bed. There is a futon on the landing. On the main floor there is a living room with a T.V. couch and love seat. There ia a dining room with a kitchen table and chairs to seat six. The kitchen is fully stocked with frig, stove and microwave. Along with pots and pans to cook and plates and silverware to eat with. Kitchen has been updated with a dishwasher. A clothes washer and dryer in the basement. I have tried to include everything thing that you will need for your stay unless you have a favorite blanket or pillow. there are sheets blankets pillows towels, . The back yard faces a wooded ravine, nice and quiet, almost in another world. There is a table and chairs out there to enjoy resting in the evenings. Along with gas grill and a fire ring.
You are close to everything South Haven has to offer. Internet and cable with lots of chanels and a Roku t.v. Up stairs to enjoy. There is all new interiorpaint. A window air down stairseven though it stays prettycool with all the shade trees. Upstairs there is a window air-in the master bedroom and another air conditioneron the landing upstairs.

Greatful for the pricing to have a place for family and our pet! Somewhat challenging with older steep/high staircase in the home to get to the bathroom but as my personal trainer said- looks more like an opportunity (to get some strengthening in). Host is wonderful!

I do clean everything in between stays. It is an older home but somethings have been updated. I try to do something every year. This year I built a new deck. My rates are lower than most places.

Never get this any one please

Dirty, dangerous place things don’t work in the house, we stayed not even 1hour BAD PLACE DO NOT COME.

The air conditioning did work, just had to turn on. The house is in a good family neighborhood very quiet and safe to be there. Not sure what your problem was. The house is always cleaned from top to bottom every time. They left it dirty and messed up ever bed. All bedding was washed Again not sure why I got this review.

The host was very nice. She let us check in early and check out late. There was no mention of all bedrooms and only bathroom being located on 2nd floor. My son is disabled and my mother is elderly. Getting up and down the stairs was hard and my son couldnt do it more than a few times a day. We would have never stayed having stairs. They were narrow and taller stairs than the average. The home was filthy from kitchen, living room, bedrooms, and bathroom. Tons of cobb webs and bugs everywhere. The dishes were dirty along with the fridge. Stayed pet friendly yet there was glass all over the driveway into back yard. Plus, tons of cigarette butts everywhere. No statement about the drop off cliff in the backyard. Its dangerous. We spent the 1st day cleaning and spent most of our time outside of the home.

Great host in nice location

I think a lot of the negative reviews are unwarranted. It was clean and had plenty of room for the 6 of us (plus dogs). The house is old and you need to use the window AC units, but it was fine and stayed cool all day. The prices are 1/2 that of other properties in the area. The house is a few minutes away from the beach. It is a duplex, but we never had an issue with the neighbors. The only bathroom is on the top level and up a flight of steep steps. It may not good for elderly people or people with disabilities. Other than that, it was great. We would stay again. The host was quick to respond and had everything in the house we could have needed (towels, silverware, board games, bug spray, etc). It's a cottage in a humid climate near a wooded area... there will be an occasional bug.

Extremely disappointing

This property should not be a rental. Old, filthy dirty, cob webs, and so much more! Don’t have a Vrbo when clearly your neighbors do not want it there in the neighborhood. Received notes on the door about our dogs barking. Dogs barking next door and across the street constantly…..duplex next door has a couch in the backyard with a pop up camper. Called me and told me not to park on the grass and I wasn’t even at the house. Extremely disappointed!

Huge Disappointment

The cleanliness of this place was unacceptable. Location is directly behind a Fast food parking lot, but Quick walk to charming downtown. Booked for 3 nights. Only stayed after 1 night. Very hot upstairs where bedrooms were. Michigan basement laundry. Spider filled and musty smelling. The odor permeated through the whole lower level of home. It is a duplex, but never heard neighbors. The yard had glass all around table and neighbors yard was junk filled. Property owner was a fast communicator, and responded positively when I requested compensation. Stairs to bedrooms are difficult to navigate so if you have young children or travelers with physical limitations, you may want to consider this.

I have now installed a new 10,000 btu air in the upstairs and put the window air in the king bed bedroom thank you for letting me know it was hot. I fight spiders in the basement because of being close to the water I do spray for them and try to keep up with cleaning the webs.

This property is not for Seniors!!!!

The communication with the owner, and check-in and checkout were great. The location is fantastic and located close to the downtown of South Haven and the beaches. The biggest drawback was the tortuous stairs to the bedrooms upstairs, and that’s where the only bathroom is located! The stairs are not for the faint of heart or weak of knees!! Plus there are no closets, so there was nowhere to put our clothes upstairs. The bathroom sink was extra slow and it took forever to get hot water in the shower. Some of these things would be incidental if you were only there 1 or 2 nights, but we were there for 5! Kitchen was great and has everything you might need, except it was infested with flies! There were flies everywhere!!! That was totally off putting. Totally! Could not find the source of the flies! They were in every room of the house! We sealed our garbage daily and did not leave food out. Still flies. If that is a seasonal thing, my condolences, but that is one of the reasons our rating was not higher.

Had no idea it was a duplex.

This rental is conveniently located to town. It’s nothing fancy but it would be a nice place to stay if you just need a place to crash after a day on the beach. When renting it I had no idea it was a duplex. We went to south haven for a wedding and brought our dogs along with us. I never would have rented this knowing that we had neighbors right next door. Our dogs being nervous in a new place unfortunately barked at the noises next door while we were out at the rehearsal dinner and wedding. Frustrating for us. Frustrating for the neighbors. Could have been avoided if the listing was more accurate. We were very disappointed- if you have dogs reconsider because you will hear your neighbors (and so will they!). Speaking of noises, we got to listen to animals/rodents scurrying in the ceiling or walls at night.... not the most relaxing way to unwind. Also, no hot water. If you’re staying here plan for get clean by jumping in the lake because our water never warmed up past luke warm at best. The backyard has nice setup and is pretty quiet. However, there is broken glass out there. I tried to pick up the pieces but I’m sure there’s more. Be cautious and wear shoes- and again maybe not the most dog friendly location because of this. Overall the house was pretty clean, except for a dirty sock I found on the edge of the master bed. This weekend was not relaxing, if anything it was stressful. It was mostly due to the fact that we had no idea we would have neighbors in a duplex. May be a good option for some people, but was not for us.

I am so sorry you were not happy. The glass table had a tree branch fall and break the glass table the lawn has been raked again to get all the glass thanks for letting me know there was still some there.

Friends Beach Weekend

It is convenient to the beaches which was the reason we picked this property. However, the house is old and it was slanted. The couches have wood blocks under them to try to straighten them out. We did not use the couches only the chairs from the dining room (we just moved the chairs to the living room). If flies and bugs are a problem for you, you will not enjoy this home.

Did not end up staying

Lots of cobwebs on ceilings and in corners of floors. She says she cleaned but how do all these cobwebs above and below get there that quickly? Very nice property owner but seems to not be able to clean thoroughly.

Property not clean, host service excellent.

This house is in a good location, the property is very dated, not clean to our standards. Smelled very old and musty and we found mouse droppings in one of the beds. We called the host and she offered to come and clean, but We ended up leaving right after check in. The host communication was excellent and she kindly refunded our money. Luckily we were able to find another place to stay.

Enjoyed our stay!

The house had everything we needed. The air conditioner units needed to be installed. The problem was my husband and I were not physically able to install them. I called Vickie the owner of the house and she came over and fixed the air conditioners for us. I thought that was very nice.

Quiet cute little place. Big enough for me and my boyfriend to have a weekend getaway. It’s not an updated property but everything works and was clean. Neighborhood is quiet and just a quick road trip to the beach around the corner.

Everything you need for a stay

The cottage is perfect for a small group in town for a short stay. Walking distance to many shops, Restaurants, etc. I would stay here again in the future.

Disappointing, Disgusting, and Dangerous!!!! Walking up to the front door there was a musty smell; it was stronger inside the condo. Have no idea what the smell was in the kitchen. Floors were sticky and table was dirty. Railing on second floor was unstable; stairs were uneven making them dangerous especially for little ones. Fans and air purifiers all over. Definitely not homey and welcoming place to stay. Not a place I would recommend.

Great Location

The house is comfortable and Homey! We had everything we needed for cooking meals at the house. Was very pleased to find plenty of toilet paper and towels. The rental is a duplex and the back yard is not fenced in. We had a very relaxing time at the house. It is close to everything.

Charming and comfortable.

The home owner was wonderful. She literally couldn't have been more accommodating. Home was stocked with anything we could've possibly needed. Beautiful neighborhood close to the water and restaurants. If you're looking for modern finishes and updates, this probably isnt for you. The home is old and has loads of charm. Very comfortable. Very clean. We are a family of 4 and it had plenty of space for us. It's worth mentioning that the only bathroom is on the second floor and the steps in the the house are rather steep. If you have toddlers or older family, this may not be for you. Our 6 year old got familiar with the steps pretty quickly and she had no issues navigating them whatsoever. You can enjoy home cooked meals in a very adequate kitchen and dining area. We were actually there on business so after the work day was over, we enjoyed our time right there in the house for the majority of our stay. Washer and dryer in the basement works great. For our trip, it was perfect. We really appreciate Vicky sharing her property with us making us feel at home away from home.
