Our host Dr. Steve was a fantastic host and made our stay very enjoyable, with great communications and detailed instructions. He was very quick to respond to my questions and was very friendly every time I talked to him. He truly cares about his guests and wants them to have a wonderful stay at his home.

Fantastic Stay

Great location, lots of amenities, bikes, kayaks, pool (can be heated), spa. Plenty of room, very comfortable with great beach access! Great view and right on the lagoon, lot's of wildlife. We hope to stay there again.

Paradise

Best vacation house in my 15 years of coming down to HHI. Doc Steve was very attentive to all are family needs. Plenty of space, bicycles, kayaks, everything a family would need. Also the view of the lagoon is incredible.

Great Time at Hilton Head

We have been to Hilton Head many times but this home is one of the nicest places we have stayed. The house was great, plenty of room, very well equipped. The view is beautiful and the extras like the bikes and kayaks were great for the older kids and adults. Everyone loved the pool especially the hot tub at night. Steve is so easy to work with. Very accommodating! You know his top priority is making sure you enjoy his home and your vacation at Hilton Head. We will definitely return another year..

Family Fun

The area of the house in Palmetto Dunes was great. Only a short walk to the beach, but also had the lagoon in the backyard. A very nice view. The heated pool and spa were well used. The house was nice and big and accommodated the whole family nicely. The owner was very helpful in getting us acquainted with all the things in the house. Loved all the wildlife around the house. My husband especially loved the fact that he caught 20 fish off the dock in the back of the house.

Amazing

Wow, Amazing, Beautiful are the three words I would use to describe this property. It had everything my family of nine needed and more. We used the bikes multiple times per day, fished off the deck, and when not at the beach the kids were in the pool. We prepared most of our meals at home, and the kitchen had everything we needed plus more. I would definitely recommend this property. Doc Steve checked on us to ensure we had everything we needed.

Great Summer Vacation

My family visited Hilton Head Island for the first time this summer and rented this very nice home in Palmetto Dunes Plantation. The home is very spacious and easily accomodated my family of six adults. The owner has taken extra steps to ensure his guests have fun! There are bikes in the basement, kayaks for crusing around the lagoon, beach chairs and tent for the beach, large private pool and more. The kitchen is fully loaded and the home has a very nice washer & dryer. The home is located within biking distance to the beach or you can drive and park to a beach access. We had a great time and will certainly visit again in the future.

23 Starboard Tack

The house met our needs, especially for my 89-year-old father-in-law with mobility challenges. It was at a prime location in Palmetto Dunes, well stocked, had relaxing views of the lagoon, allowed us to watch the NBA finals every night, and we took advantage of the pool, kayaks, and bicycles. We also attended the free Music and Taste on the Harbor concert with Diez Boys at Shelter Cove, Thursday evening. Steve was very accommodating as a host. I spoke with Steve before, and on several occasions during our stay and he texted me to check in a couple of times during the week too. We had a wonderful time and a lot of it was due to renting 23 Starboard Tack!

Wonderful stay

We spent a wonderful week at Dr. Steve’s house in Hilton head. It was a family reunion so a lot of us (12) of varying ages (6 to 81) and we all fit well in this spacious house. It was also very well equipped with bicycles, kayaks, cooking supplies, a large communal area with a big TV, a heated pool and hotub, etc. making us all very comfortable. The beach was a 15 min walk away and there are plenty of restaurants and grocery stores right outside the gates of the residential community (about 10 min drive). Also, we took advantage of the tennis and pickle ball courts in the complex to watch the younger generation beat up on the older. Best of all was Doc Steve who was incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout, even when weather and travel delays threw a wrench in our arrival times. Highly recommend this house for visiting Hilton Head!

23 Starboard Tack

Room for all. Very well equipped kitchen. Stayed for week and never felt need to go to beach (& we are beach people) Large pool with rafts & pool toys included, hot tub, tons of bikes in garage, including 2 children’s bikes & trailers, beach chairs, sand toys, grills, Blackstone, kayaks, life vests, fishing poles, zero gravity & deck chairs. Two nice high top tables on upper deck that seat 8 with umbrellas & comfortable chairs. Great place for viewing lagoon & wildlife. Location & views are perfect. Short ride to beach and General Store. We’ll definitely be back to this home. Owner, Doc Steve is very responsive & treats you like family. He truly wants everyone to have the best time while in his home.

Great Vacation Home!

I looked for about a month for a family vacation home that would accomodate 9 adults and 5 kids (3 babies, 2 preschoolers). Nothing fit my criteria like a large kitchen, open space, baby/kid friendly, and all one level living room and bedrooms other than this home. This lovely spacious home is quite large and has some awesome admenities like several bikes, kayaks and life vests, beach chairs and 12x12 beach tent, large pool, a dock for fishing, plenty of parking space, loaded kitchen, basketball court, two baby gates to help keep the babies from going where they shouldn't, a few kids board games, and a view that you don't want to leave. It had everything we needed and more. The home owners were extremely accomodating and made sure we had everything we needed to have the best family vacation possible. The price for this home is outstanding. You won't find another house with these amenities, the size, and view for the same cost. Very reasonable. We have already booked this home for next year and cannot wait till then. We loved it here and love Hilton Head Island!

Do not bother renting anywhere else - this home has it all and more

We came onto the island for a wedding we were in. Originally it was for a family of six and another bridesmaid and her family asked to join us for a total count of 12 guests. We all had very comfortable beds with plenty of room to roam. I'd like to state that we've been coming to the island for 13 years now and after staying here we will not rent anywhere else. We have stayed on Singleton Beach, Port Royal, North Forest & South Forest beach, and in Sea Pines. The amenities the owner offers is beyond comparison. Everything was very clean upon arrival. There is a basketball court and it was used daily. There is a big screened in porch with beautiful views that we utilized for winding down in the evenings and for sneaking a nap or two during the day. We sat with our children on the swing overlooking the lagoon and there is a heron the frequents daily and catches and eats fish almost at the base of your feet. The pool is one of the largest we've swam in while renting on HHI and the hot tub was used too. The deck is quite large and sunbathing was a breeze to do. Now why the wow factor? 1. Cable was not just basic cable but on demand too. For those who have sport fans in their families, the large televisions were a hit. 2. Towels towels everywhere for you to use and not just two :0) 3. The kitchen is pretty big with plenty of storage, pots, pans, you want it, and it was there. 4. 13 years we have rented bikes. No need to here and we rode to the General Store daily for ice cream and the beach is less than 10 minutes away. The beach is private with no massive crowd which is a big plus 5. Kayaks/canoes - not only were there enough for 6 to go out on the lagoon at a time, the owner provided safety vests too so money was saved there for your pocketbook as well. It is oh so peaceful with aviary and jumping fish. 6. The bedrooms are far enough from the center of the action or family room. We could sleep without being awakened by early birds who would start breakfast and of children who wanted to watch morning cartoons together. It is beautiful here. We have now loving memories of the wedding we were a part of, of the children of all ages laughing and playing together and we cannot wait to return. I am writing this review within the screened porch area and I am not looking forward to leaving just yet. We want to thank the owners who were always in constant contact during our stay. The time spent here in this home was wonderful. Thank you.

Heaven on earth

The host (Doc) was a joy to deal with. He was available, considerate, flexible and very helpful. His house had everything a family could enjoy - plenty of bikes, kayaks, hot tub, heated swimming pool, fire place, large bedrooms, patio seating, 5 bedrooms, outdoor equipment of all sorts, and best of all, located on the banks of a lagoon with a clear south eastern exposure, and tennis and pickleball courts nearby. Lots to do and see.

Wonderful home

This was our second time to Hilton head, too bad we didn’t find this place the first time! The house comes with everything you need and the host will accommodate you to ensure your not missing anything. Would highly recommend renting this house!

The view was absolutely breath taking! The location was great! The only bad things were glass door was very hard to open and carpet definitely needs to be cleaned.

A Perfect Family Get-Together Spot

Our Christmas week get-together of three siblings, spouses and adult offspring gathered from five corners of the country for a perfect reunion. The house is beautiful, comfortable, had plenty of room for all 10 of us without getting into each other's hair. It provided everything needed for a care-free vacation. The kitchen is quite well-equipped. It was a short bike ride (plenty of bikes are in the basement) to the beach or a walk of less than 15 minutes so we could zip over and watch the sun rise, morning after morning. There are kayaks available and enough loops in the waterways to do multiple paddling excursions through the neighborhood without backtracking or repeating, to keep things interesting. Unfortunately, the heater for the pool decided to die when we arrived, but the owner, Dr. Steve, went above and beyond to get it repaired (that didn't work) and then replaced, so we did get a glorious December dip in the heated pool and spa, both at night gazing on the star-filled sky, and again during the day, watching the pelicans, herons, and all sorts of other birds. Great architecture in the neighborhood, lovely environs with Spanish moss dangling from the trees, and plenty to do on Hilton Head and in general area, plus Savannah is an easy hour-long ride away.

Great family house

Loved the stay, house was great and we all had room. Lots to do with the kayaks and bicycles. They enjoyed the lagoon for fishing snd not too far to the beach. Dr. Steve is an excellent host. I’d stay there again!

Great property with beautiful lagoon views

Property is spectacular and working with Doc Steve was even better! Highly recommend for a large group looking for all the comforts of home, with a great pool to jump in after a day at the bwach, and inside the gates of Palmetto Dunes!

Amazing Family Vacation!!

The property was awesome! The owner Dr Steve was great to work with. The pool was fabulous. We used the bikes multiple times per day, lots of fun with the kayaks in the lagoon, and when not at the beach the kids were in the pool. We prepared most of our meals at home and the kitchen had everything we needed. This last week was one of our best vacations ever !! We will definitely return.

Fabulous Family Vacation during Covid 19 Pandemic

The property was all and more than we expected. It was fabulous. The owner Dr Steve was great to work with. He made sure everything was perfect! The home was beautiful and clean. Very well kept. The pool was fabulous. We felt like family the entire week. We could social distance at the beach and I felt very comfortable and safe all week ! We would stay here again and again! It was one of the best vacations ever !!

Great family vacation

just returned from at Doc Steve's amazing house. I always thought being closer to the water was the way to go but I no longer think that. We had 10 people in the house and there was plenty of room for all. The pool is the biggest I have seen in any rental and the view can not be beat. The house has everything you need right down to the bikes, beach chairs and umbrellas, but the best thing might be dealing with the owners, I have rented this property and their condo four times and you can not deal with any better people!! Thanks Doc and Michelle.
