Located midway between Cashiers/Highlands and Bryson City/Cherokee, this property is at the intersection of comfort and convenience. It is steps away from the Tuckasegee River, a fly fisherman's dream, and a short drive from hiking and biking trails, numerous waterfalls and lakes, antique shopping, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Jackson County Ale Trail, Oconaluftee, Harrah's Casino and so much more. This newly renovated, 2-Bedroom Apartment features a well appointed Kitchen, with plenty of workspace, and a large dining and living area conducive to relaxing and enjoying meals together. It also includes a sunroom with beautiful wood ceilings that cast reflections off the river and ample parking for 2 vehicles. Come relax and take in some fresh air, with a stay at our little peace of heaven, tucked away in the Western North Carolina Mountains, less than 2 Miles from Western Carolina University's campus.

Note: This Apartment is located on the second floor so keep in mind that, although it is worth the trek, you will need to make it up 20+ steps to reach the deck. So, come prepared for a little exercise!!

The place was immaculate!! It was just what we needed. She had pretty much thought of everything! We will be renting from her again for sure!! Being right on the river was so relaxing, listening to the water was just what our hectic lives needed to slow down. The beds were super comfortable. Our daughter is a student at Western Carolina and we were only 2 miles from campus, sooo convenient!

Great location, property, amenities, and views!!!

We enjoyed our stay at Suzanne’s unit 1 by the river in Cullowhee. The property is easy to get to in a quiet neighborhood with river views, not far from town. This was a perfect place for us to do the waterfalls hiking in the Caney Fork area and also in Cherokee. We love the kitchen - spacious, well-appointed with new appliances and new cookware. There are multiple wooden cutting boards and the wide single sink works well. The coffee maker can be used to brew single or a carafe. We had everything we need to cook and savor our meals while looking out the window at the Tuckasegee River. The beds are comfortable and so are the couch and chairs. The bathrooms are clean, well-lit, and stocked with everything we need. The laundry room is between the bedrooms and has pretty new washer and dryer. Suzanne provides timely communication about check in, WiFi, checkout instructions etc. She uses the chat in VRBO app to share information.

The property is extremely clean and up to date. The views of the river from the landing and the living room are excellent. We will definitely book this location again. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt right at home here.

River fun

Property was clean, easy to access and checkout was easy too. We visited our WCU students and spent much more time with them than we would have if we’d stayed in a hotel. We had river access and were able to fish. Our students made a nice dinner with the well outfitted kitchen. We loved it, highly recommend.

WCU Family Weekend Stay

Excellent VRBO! Our family stayed here for family weekend to visit our daughter at WCU. This was the perfect location, which was only a few minutes from the school! Everything was new and spotless and we had a beautiful view of the river! The beds were so comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with everything you need to cook. We will definitely stay here again, it was everything we needed and more!

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

This property has been in my family for years and the building has housed everything from a fire station to a fraternity house. However, over time, the building had run down and the grounds had overgrown with kudzu and bamboo. My husband and I had long envisioned renovating the building and cleaning up the property, but the distance between our home and the property was a hindrance. When COVID hit, we found ourselves with time on our hands, so we started researching possibilities for the property. We completed the first phase of our project ,in late 2023, when we opened a small boutique RV Park, consisting of 5 full hook-up RV sites, on one side of the property. Renovating the building, a process that took the better part of 2 years, proved a major undertaking. The saying that "Nothing worth having comes easy" couldn't be more true. However, we believe that the end result has been well worth the effort, and we trust that you will love our River Front Apartment as much as we do!!
