THE TENTS
The 320 sq. ft. luxury safari tents are hand crafted by Exclusive Tents out of South Africa, who have been in business for over 30 years. The octagon shaped Bachuma tents sit on 1500sq ft of deck space each and have 6 floor-to-ceiling netted windows, 14’ high ceilings and 2 secure entries, allowing for cooling cross breezes.
Poolside Tent #1
Sits middle property with a private 22’ saltwater infinity pool and unobstructed views of the Caribbean Sea and snorkelling reefs below.
Interior furnishings include a locally made four poster king bed fitted with luxury white bedding, bedside tables with reading lamps, plantation chairs, small table, book shelf and a locally crafted woven bench.
The ensuite interior bathroom includes a river rock sink atop a mahogany vanity, a wardrobe with drawers and a safe, a towel rack, storage cabinet, toilet and access to an oversized, coral stone, garden shower. A foot path and bamboo gate offer private access from the pool deck to the outdoor shower. The tent’s oversized ceiling fan and netted windows allow for natural air living and the feeling of being immersed in nature.

The fully equipped outdoor kitchen and mahogany bar include a gas barbecue, mini-fridge, ice maker, utility sink and a collection of appliances that include an air fryer, blender, toaster, coffee maker and your general kitchen supplies. The bbq has a cast iron griddle and a fish basket for the catch of the day!
An outside dining table with canvas backed chairs, umbrellas and sun loungers are all poolside.
A large grassy area adjacent to the deck is another lovely spot to gaze at the ocean shaded by a towering almond tree, with a path leading to the Water’s Edge Tent #2.
The tech elements are remote LED pool lights, a Bluetooth speaker for your holiday soundtrack and a mini-projector with a 100” fabric screen to stream your favourite content, either outside or directly onto the tent canvas!
Water’s Edge Tent #2
Identical in shape, size and interior/exterior furnishings and amenities as Tent #1, but unique in its cantilevered cushioned lounge, garden shower with a view and ultimately its exciting water’s edge location. Separated from Tent #1 by over fifty feet of tropical gardens and perched on the lower corner of the property, this luxury safari tent delivers a private and dramatic seaside experience.
It has a fully equipped outdoor kitchen and mahogany bar with chair swings and all the kitchen amenities of Tent #1, with unobstructed views from every vantage point. French doors open onto views of the cove, the open horizon and the turquoise waters below. A wrap around platform gives easy access to the cushioned lounge, garden shower or boardwalk that leads towards your family and friends swimming in the salt water infinity pool, the sunset deck or Lumière’s own boutique white sand space and natural beach below.
THE PROPERTY:
The property has a quaint, white sand man made beach area with loungers and a hammock under mature almond and coconut trees. Easy access down our beach stairs into the Caribbean Sea for a snorkel or a swim to our floating sea hammock. If collecting shells and sea glass is of interest, our natural beach is there for treasure hunting!
There’s a 24’ deck hovering just above the warm sea with plantation chairs to take in the sunset and a rain shower for a quick cool off or rinse from your snorkeling adventure out front.
The protected cove is host to a collection of snorkelling reefs (snorkelling gear supplied), abundant with tropical fish, coral and the occasional turtle and octopus!
The top of the property is where our orchard is located, with fruiting trees such as mango, avocado, orange, grapefruit, lemon, cocoa, soursop, lime and passion fruit. You will also discover cherry, breadfruit, guava, pineapples, watermelons and many other fruit and vegetable species throughout the property. With an abundance of coconut trees, you can always request fresh coconut water to sip poolside when the gardener is on site.
Leaving the property through the gated driveway, you can easily stroll around the circular peninsula road to visit historic sites like the Vigie Lighthouse, the British Barracks & Meadows Battery and other war time relics scattered about. Of course the golden sands of Vigie Beach is an easy 10 minute saunter, with its collection of seaside restaurants, bars and rentable beach chairs. Local Castries restaurants are just 5 mins away by car, including the beautiful Coal Pot Restaurant located waterside, plus The Pink Plantation House or Bel Jour are both perched high above Castries and have good food/entertainment options. Other restaurants and bars are throughout the capital, including at the duty free Pointe Seraphine cruise ship port and outdoor shopping district.
But don’t be surprised if the peaceful magic of Lumière keeps you from going anywhere.
Our concierge is always on call to help answer any questions or arrange services and experiences. We can arrange private boat trips to the Pitons and volcano, sometimes directly from Lumière if the water conditions allow. We work with a car service company so please ask about airport transfers or land tours. For health and wellness we offer in-house professional massages.
