We booked this home because of the size so we could have our wedding ceremony overlooking the lake. To say this house was clean and great is an understatement. Add to the fact the owners were in contact with us immediately if we had a question or when we left some items behind. They went out of their way to make sure we were happy. We want to return again sometime soon! Definitely a great choice to stay!

If I could give this a 10 star review I would. Communication with the host was excellent, house was better than described, clean, well equipped, had lots of fun stuff at the house to do. We enjoyed the kayaks, lawn games and dock for our boat. The host went above and beyond to make this a special occasion for my in-laws 60th wedding anniversary. We will be back. Thank you for everything!

We especially liked that there were 2 refrigerators. The views were fantastic. Lots of games and toys for everyone.The screen door to the deck needs to be replaced. A lot of trouble closing it. Also, would like to see a TV on the main floor. We were there for a family Easter and no TV meant that everyone was on different levels.Everything you could think of as far as appliances. It was the most well stocked VRBO we have rented.Jay was great. Responded fast to our messages.

So glad to hear you enjoyed the views, the space, and all the little things around the house (and yes, those two refrigerators do come in handy with a full house 🙂). Also really appreciate the feedback on the screen door — that’s super helpful, and we’ll get that taken care of right away. On the TV, totally understand where you’re coming from, especially with a family gathering like Easter. There’s actually a bit of intention behind that — we’ve chosen not to have a TV in the main living area so families can truly unplug, connect with each other, and enjoy the setting. Being right on the lake, surrounded by nature, the idea is to spend more time outdoors, with each other, and a little less time on screens. That said, your feedback is very fair and something we’ll keep thinking about. Really glad you had a great stay overall — you were wonderful guests, and we’d love to host you again anytime!

We had a wonderful time at Herons’ Cove with our grown children celebrating my husband’s 60th Birthday! It was just the relaxing and fun weekend we had hoped for. We enjoyed boating trip on the lake, delicious cook-outs, s’mores and Bonfires, canoeing, beautiful pink sunsets and hanging out in the comfortable family room just talking and playing games. Was a very fun and successful long weekend and just what we wished for.

Hello Mandy, Thank you so much for the nice review. We are so glad you choose to stay at Heron's Cove. There are several months that are my favorite there and November is one of them. Often, it is still warm enough to enjoy playing on the shores of the lake. We do hope you come back and enjoy Heron's Cove again. Winter is a time for comfort, good food, wonderful memories made around the fire pit and quiet reflection near the water. I hope you enjoyed some of that.

We had a wonderful time during our stay! The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed to prepare all meals in the home. The back yard was beautiful! There were rafts, noodles, and sand toys galore. The new hot tub was fantastic as well. The owner was very responsive with any questions we had during our stay. I would highly recommended this property to other families looking to travel to Lake Anna.

We are so happy that Robert choose Heron's Cove for his families mini vacation. He was a wonderful guest and we hope he will come back with his friends and family in the future. Heron's Cove Cabin at Lake Anna provides the perfect home or holiday destination for those looking to escape the stresses of everyday life. It can be a warm and wonderful place to spend time. Nothing is more wonderful in our memories this time of year then spending time with family and those we love around a fire pit roasting marshmallows and chatting - no need for electronics when you have time at the fire, the lake or the forest! It can remind you that just being alive and close to family is where sheer happiness and contentment comes from. We hope you will be back soon.

Great staycation

A perfect lake side escape

Our stay at the lake cabin was absolutely magical. The location was serene, with stunning lake views right from the deck. The cabin was clean, cozy, and well-equipped with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. It's a perfect spot for a peaceful getaway, and we can’t wait to return!

Thank you for your 5 star review. We try to earn it with each and every visit! It is great that you were able to use Heron's Cove as a place for your work team to enjoy. I'm sure it truly bonds a team together when they get the chance to enjoy stories around the campfire as well as enjoy the opportunity of playing on the paddleboads and kayaks. We do hope you will come again. The house with 5 bedrooms and bathrooms make this a nice place to have privacy if needed and yet lots of areas to meet in as well. We hope you and your team were also able to watch some of the local wildlife enjoy the lake also. The eagles are usually enjoying this time of year fishing just outside the cove. Of course, the Great Blue Heron's are there often and seem to enjoy standing on our dock while waiting for that perfect small fish to swim by. Thank you again and come back anytime.

Of course our favorite is the Great Blue Heron (they say that seeing one brings you messages of self-determination and self-reliance. They represent an ability to progress and evolve. Blue herons have the innate wisdom of being able to maneuver through life and create their own circumstances and when the rest of the world loses patience, the great blue heron is rewarded with their ability to show great patience.) We are so happy that you enjoyed Heron's Cove. We do try to make it private, easy and enjoyable for our guests. I am so happy that you were able to enjoy the cabin and all the wonderful outside space. The canoes, kayaks and paddleboards are there for our guests to have the opportunity to truly enjoy Lake Anna. Hello Shannon, I am so delighted that you enjoyed your weekend at Heron's Cove. You were wonderful guests and you are welcome back anytime. I hope you were able to see some of the magic of Lake Anna. I love when the fog lifts off the glass surface of the lake at dawn or when an Eagle fishing in the cove takes a dive from high above to catch that fish he saw. A majestic Blue Heron flying by during the sunset is always a wonderful site to see. We hope you will come back and make Heron's Cove your Vacation Home away from Home!

Great Stay at Heron's Cove

Our family had a great week at Heron's Cove. The owner, Kathy was very responsive and the house is just as listed. We would highly recommend to anyone who wants a relaxing, fun-filled week!

We loved having Debby and her guests stay at Heron's Cove. They left the house clean and well loved. We hope they think of Heron's Cove as their Vacation Cabin away from home! I'm so glad you had an enjoyable time and we hope you were able to enjoy the watercraft that we have for our guests enjoyment. I also hope that you had a chance to see some of our great lake wild life that is around during the quieter time of the year. It is always a joy to sit out on the back deck with a cup of your favorite drink and watch the eagles, heron and osprey. Loved having you!

Last year, our family embarked on a search for the perfect lake home, and we had a clear vision in mind. We love everything about the lake—boating, swimming, and, of course, log houses—so finding a place that combined all of these was our goal. We dreamed of having our own boathouse to avoid the hassle of using public boat ramps and loading the boat onto a trailer every time.

After looking at many properties, we finally found the one—a stunning log home on an ideal piece of lakefront land. It wasn't easy to find, as we had specific requirements: a sandy, gently sloping swim area for the kids, a deep-water dock and boathouse for easy boat access, and a gorgeous view of the lake from the house so we could watch all the fun on the water. Capturing those moments from the comfort of our home was important to us.

The moment we stepped into the backyard, with its breathtaking lake view and the beautiful log house standing behind us, we knew we had found something special. The house itself checked all our boxes: five spacious bedrooms and five bathrooms, ensuring everyone had their own space. The blend of rustic charm and refined comfort made it the perfect fit for our family. We couldn't be more thrilled to call this place home!

Both Rustic and Refined describes our beautiful log home. The wall of windows in the great room allow anyone who hasn't gone out in the boat to have a panoramic scenic view of the lake and family enjoying it. The sunset is lovely from this location. Our home has all the necessary amenities to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. It is warm, inviting, solid and certainly more sustainable than conventional housing on the lake. If it could talk, each log would have a story to tell and it would be delighted to welcome you in.
