The Lake is Calling! Lakefront Cottage Rental on Clear Lake, Indiana

This lakefront vacation home sits on a half-acre of land in an uncrowded portion of Clear Lake with a panoramic view of the lake as well as views of farmland behind the house. There are large flat grassy areas for play activities. There is a private dock and 70 feet of lake frontage.

Clear Lake is considered a premier lake in a less congested setting, with spring-fed crystal clear water, affording all kinds of activities -- fishing, sailing, water skiing, tubing, and swimming. The nearby Clear Lake Marina provides all your boating needs, as well as boat rentals (reserve boat rentals early).

A unique feature of Clear Lake is that it has its own small island with sandy beaches where everyone can have fun.

From the deck, you'll love watching the sun rise over the lake, and will appreciate this quiet cove location. After a full day of activities on the lake, the deck provides a gathering place for family to sit back, relax, and enjoy each other and the scenery. If jogging, biking, or casual strolls is your pleasure, the quiet road around the lake will accommodate you.

Nearby areas offer restaurants, golfing, shopping, and antiquing. Visit a local buffalo preserve, wine tasting at the local winery, or enjoy a delightful day of restaurants, shopping, and sightseeing in the nearby Amish town of Shipshewana.

Great home

The host was over-the-top. Excellent, accommodations were beautiful, the kitchen had everything you could want. The place was in a peaceful quieter area.

Over all, comfortable stay.

This is a tidy little cottage. It would rate five stars if the beachfront was weed-free, and if linens were provided. This was the first of my many VRBO stays where we had to haul in sheets and towels. And it is not really a “two bath” cottage. The half-bath upstairs is built for children only - no head room.

Wonderful Week

Our family (kids 6, 8 and 9) had a great time at this lovely cottage. It was a perfect place to get away and relax. We were very appreciative of the upkeep and the attention we received from the owners. Will definitely check it's availability again for our next trip!

PERFECT FOR US

I fell in love with the picture of THE LAKE IS CALLING. It looked so inviting. It was the perfect size and price, as well as being water front! It was clean, nicely decorated, and well-equipped with kitchen items and extra bedding. When we arrived, the toilet handle was not working, but it was fixed in a short time. Janet called to check in and make sure everything was ok. Being close to the Marina gave us a chance to consider renting water toys. However, the row boat was fine for my husband's fishing plans. He also fished from the dock with success. We would definitely consider visiting again.

Clear Lake is the Best!

We had two perfect weeks this summer at Clear Lake. The cottage was just perfect for our family. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. Central air, washer and dryer, furnished kitchen and fishing boat.

Nice cozy cottage on Clear Lake!

When we arrived at the cottage we were very pleased as it was everything the owner Janet had described in her listing. The home was well equipped with furnishings and kitchen essentials to make our stay comfortable and accommodating for all of our needs. This lakefront property was absolutely everything we were looking for. We made a trip into nearby Angola for dinner one night and enjoyed some activities there as well. This home can easily accommodate many others, so the next time we visit we will be bringing our sons and their families to enjoy the recreational lake with tubing and waterskiing. We did try some fishing while on the lake and caught a few but since it was August, we feel May would be the best time to return to really catch our limit! We enjoyed sitting on the deck, having a glass of wine and really taking in the beauty of the sunset over the lake. It was quiet on the lake as we went during the week and we enjoyed not having so many boaters on the lake. This home was clean, very spacious and had all the amenities we wanted for a relaxing get away for two. The owner was very helpful and friendly and I enjoyed talking with her on several occasions. She was very accommodating to us and we appreciated her willingness to work with our schedule. We will definitely return to Clear Lake and hope this cottage will be available for our family in the future. :)

Nice cozy cottage on beautiful Crystal Lake

We arrived on Wednesday to find our cottage just as Janet, the owner, described on this site. It was very accommodating for my husband and I. We loved the fact that found this cozy lakeside home which accommodated our boat with our own private dock and pier. This home was clean and equipped with furnishings and kitchen essentials necessary to make our trip very comfortable and accommodating for cooking. There were other things to do in nearby Angola if you are looking for different activities to enjoy away from the lake. It was such a quiet, relaxing vacation on the lake. Although it was just my husband and I, this home can easily accommodate many others with 2 more bedrooms and a half bath upstairs. I would definitely come back to Crystal Lake again. This was a very nice, clean and cozy home and hope it will continue to be available for us to rent in the future. We appreciated having such a helpful and wonderful owner willing to work with us. :)

Beautiful Place

Our family had a wonderful time at this cottage the week of 7-5-2014. Everything is exactly as listed. Cottage contains everything needed for a wonderful week. We bring our own boat and very convenient launching at the marina which is just a few doors down. I brought up a trolling motor for the fishing boat that comes with the cottage and it gave us options with fishing or going out to the island. Our family rents different cottages every year for our summer vacation. Everyone wants to come back to this one. Great view of the lake, fantastic shade tree and everything you need. This is also one of Indiana's best lakes for fishing. The DNR has been stocking walleye and rainbow trout in this lake for many years. I recieved a call from the owner a day into our stay to make sure that everything was as we expected. Great owners and easy to deal with. If you want a stress free vacation, look no farther. This is a jewel.

Florida family reunion

Our family had a wonderful time at Clear Lake, loved the cottage , it was very comfortable with central air conditioning! (Nice surprise) We hope to rent this same cottage in the future, the owners were very accommodating . My husband and I have been at Clear Lake at least five times, this was definitely on the top of our list. We enjoyed Pizza King and Carusos Italian restaurant , Fort Wayne Children's Zoo , Sateks Winery .

Great Location

We spent a week at this lakehouse with our family of five. The location was perfect, steps from the lake, with a dock for our boat. The home is located in a less busy part of the lake which was perfect for our son to learn to kneeboard. The lake was very clean and clear. We enjoyed the island too. The kids loved anchoring the boat in the lake and swimming. We also enjoyed night cruises and the fireworks on the fourth of July. The home itself was very clean with plenty of room for us all. We had all we needed. The owners were wonderful to work with and very attentive toward our needs. The week we were there, we had record breaking temperatures and the owners purchased a portable a/c to make it more comfortable for us. That was truly appreciated. I would definitely return again. We had a blast!!
