Overall, the home was clean, generally well maintained, well stocked, and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed, the appliances worked well, and the lake views and landscaping were beautiful.Before check-in, however, the communication felt excessive: 6 calls, 3 voicemails, 3 emails, 8 platform messages, and 11 text messages, along with a required in-person property walkthrough before access. While we appreciate clear expectations, the process felt overwhelming.The property was also less secluded than expected. It sits on a major road with continuous traffic, and we observed shipping containers, several parked vehicles, an RV, and two nearby occupied homes, making the setting feel less private than the listing suggested.Interestingly, after a major storm with shelter-in-place recommendations and during an 8-hour internet outage, there was no proactive communication. That said, whenever we contacted the hosts by text or message, they responded immediately.The house was quite warm on arrival and took about 12 hours to cool, but once it did, it stayed comfortable. Guests with fragrance sensitivities should know there were more than 12 Glade plug-ins throughout the home.Overall, we enjoyed the home itself, but there were some misunderstandings between our expectations and the listing, particularly regarding privacy and the communication style.
