Best Maui Location

If you have never stayed at Mckena Surf you have no idea the magic of Maui . If you want to enjoy a peaceful vacation away from the noise and crowds this is the place. Ali’i resorts is a awesome property management company, they make everything easy. Seems all employees from restaurant workers to house cleaners are happy to have people visiting Maui again,

Great unit with an amazing view

This condo overlooks the ocean and is right next to a quiet beach. Can't beat the amazing view! The unit itself is spacious and bright. Full kitchen was great and having a washer & dryer was handy. The resort swimming pool is right outside the door and was never too crowded. The grounds are well maintained and the resort staff is friendly. The only negative for us was the comfort of the beds, but that is personal preference. Would definitely recommend this condo and property to anyone.

Amazing Location, Great Condo

My family and father-in-law stayed in this unit last week and we all had a great time. The unit was lovely and full of amenities, the grounds are beautiful, the service from Ali'i Resorts was first rate, and the view is absolutely unbeatable. It's why you go to Maui! The beach is perfect for families, and just steps away from the front door. Reasons I didn't give it five stars: we struggled with tiny ants in the kitchen any time even a scrap of food was left out, and the jacuzzi jets were not working about 50% of the time. Even so, I would go back in a heartbeat.

Maui surf

We loved the location and the view. The unit needs to upgrade the cable access. The only movies we were able to watch had commercials. We were also unable to sign into any streaming accounts that we subscribe to.

Just beautiful-loved unit F212

The view is absolutely beautiful. You can watch sunset right from the balcony. We stayed for ten days and there was not a day that we did not see at least one sea turtle. Inside the condo, the unit is very clean and seems newly updated. We are a family of 4 and there was plenty of space for everyone. Kitchen is well equipped. You definitely need a car since you cannot really walk to any shopping or restaurants-but that's part of the charm of this resort. Also, most importantly, the beach is beautiful and was never crowded. Surf was never too big so you could always swim. Snorkeling right from the beach. Just a great spot to vacation. Unit F212 is a winner.

Gorgeous view from somewhat dated property

Spent a lovely week with our two kids in F212. View is incredible and accessibility to beach and pool are amazing. Kitchen reasonably equipped to cook in most nights. Interior of unit is dated and had very frustrating experience with aged air conditioning which barely functioned 4 of 7 nights and refused to function the remaining 3. Property manager was not particularly helpful despite three calls to the company - just kept giving us the same advice to turn the power off and then back on and never sent anyone out. Thus our days were great, but half our nights were uncomfortably hot. Nice to have washer/dryer in unit, however dryer seems to be on its last legs and took multiple cycles to dry even small loads. On plus side, bed in master is at least very comfortable!

A Turtle-tastic Time

Makena Surf F-212 was absolutely amazing in all regards. From the oceanfront corner location to immaculate housing conditions, we could not have asked for a more relaxing place to stay. We specifically picked this condo because it looked to be the best situated for looking at the ocean and the beach. We did not, however, realize that directly in front of the lanai, was also a grotto where turtles played all day long. The most turtles we saw at once numbered at around 6. The grounds at Makena Surf were gorgeous as well. Beautiful foliage surrounded the pathway to the condo and it was a guarantee to see geckos and hear birds along the way. The beach was almost never crowded and had clear water and waves that were big enough to play in but never scary. On the first day in the water, we saw 4 turtles playing around rocks near the shore! We were literally able to stand in the water within 2 feet of them, watching them frolic about. In 6 trips to maui I have never experienced anything like this. In summary, this condo is extraordinary and I highly recommend it.

Perfect Maui retreat

We were hoping for a beautiful place to relax, snorkel, and enjoy the view for a week's vacation, and this exceeded our expectations. The pictures are accurate and the view is amazing right from the lanai and all the windows. The pool and hot tub are right at the foot of the condo steps, and the beach is just a very short walk away. The property is immaculate, well-cared for, and Ali'i Resorts are professional and a pleasure to work with. We called them upon arrival, and Greg met us promptly and welcomed us with helpful information. The daily housekeeping people were friendly and efficient and kept the condo in great shape. There were a few units being remodeled in the building, but the noise was never very loud (we were on the beach most of the time anyway). And yes, a highlight was being right at "Turtle Town"! We saw large and small turtles out in front all day long. They don't seem bothered at all by snorkelers and were floating and being cleaned by smaller fish. Other snorkeling boats came every day too but the water and beach were not crowded. We had a wonderful time and are glad we chose to stay here, especially at the discounted rate during remodeling. (You definitely need a car as you are far away from commercial areas for restaurants and other activities.)

So Much Better Than the Description!

We booked a last minute trip to Maui and didn't know what to expect with this unit...and it was so much more than meets the eye. - beach/ocean access was incredibly easy - the beach was one of the best around - many local beaches have coral only 5-10 feet out from shore that cuts your feet and makes it impossible to play in the water with young kids...this was nothing but sand. - TURTLES EVERYWHERE! We probably saw 8-10 turtles a day swimming along side us. - Beautiful sunsets every night with unobstructed views - easy to get to excursions around Wailea or the rest of the island. Great shopping and restaurants nearby - very quiet. You couldn't see any of the large resorts in Wailea and you didn't have to share a beach with any of them so it made the experience feel much more secluded/exclusive. We have 5 of us, 2 adults and three kids ages 11, 8, and 5. We were worried about how we would sleep 3 kids in one room...but once again were surprised by this unit, which had a roll away bed that we were able to pull into the 2nd room and sleep all 3 very very easily. We had one maintenance issue with the HVAC upon arrival and the team at Ali'i were spectacular at communicating and taking care of the issue immediately. We had no other issues after this first one.

Beautiful Condo on Best Beach in Maui!

We have stayed in this condo complex before(Makena Surf) and it is the best! This was our first time staying in a 2 bedroom until and this one was the tops. Being an updated corner unit, on the beach and across from the pool.....perfection. We hope to visit again and soon!
