This is a wonderful house in a beautiful location. It's secluded and private but just a short drive to everything. Our family had the best vacation week we've ever had. The house was clean and well maintained. The new game room is a fantastic addition. We will definitely return next year!

We have traveled all over the east coast and this trip was a favorite for the entire family. My oldest said the best to date and better than the beach. The views, the sizes of the bedrooms, the stocked kitchen, the dock- everything was perfect. If you're looking for relaxation and privacy this is the place for your family. You're also only about a 7 minute boat ride to the dam and marina which made boat rentals a breeze! We hope to return soon!!

Host was very welcoming & very accommodating. Very responsive & helpful with any questions or concerns. Beautiful home & area, will be booking again when the lake is at its peak. Absolutely loved our time spent there.

We had a wonderful stay! The House was clean, large enough for our family of 5 and the lake and neighborhood were tranquil. Host was very responsive to questions.

Nice lake house

Beautiful property would stay again .. tried our luck with fishing no luck from the dock id bring a boat or jetski next time so i could really enjoy the lake but close enough to everything and the kids enjoyed swimming from the dock ..

Hi Mickey, thanks for your review, I am so glad you all enjoyed the property. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed in the condition that the house was left in. There were numerous bright blue stains on multiple linens that did not come out and we had to replace multiple items. Decorative pillows were stained/looked like they were used outside. Glass was shattered everywhere in the driveway. Board games were strewn across the family room. Extremely disappointing in a newly renovated property.

Excellent family get away

The location and the house was perfect . The whole family enjoyed the house and the lake . Comfortable beds. Restaurants and stores close by. The host was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions. We will return again.

This is an excellent property! Very clean, well maintained, lots of added touches with the decor. You can tell the owners really take care of it. It felt like a home and made us feel at home. The game room was a great bonus to get the kids off their phones in our downtime between activities and bring us together. The lake was low, which we expected for this time of year and had open communication with the owners about. Still we were able to use the kayaks and fish from the shore and really enjoy the lake. The hot tub was also really nice and clean. We rented a boat for a half day from one of the marinas and spent time in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and Smoky Mountains all between 30-60 min away. We would definitely stay here again!

Quick Summer get away

The Boondocks is a great location. Secluded yet close enough to town if you need anything. Private dock lake access was so nice and we definitely got our steps in every day. Kayaks provided at the house were a hit with the teens. Plenty of life jackets available as well. Hannah and Kelly were very responsive and accommodating to our early check in request. We had almost everything we needed in the kitchen.There was plenty of room for us and we didn’t feel crowded. It’s a cozy place! Should we find ourselves needing future accommodations, we will be contacting them. Fantastic family time!

Great views and stay

We booked this property for the last minute trip. The host had excellent communication with us and the access was easy due to a smart lock. We were warned that the lake level was low at this time of year but we were able to get our Jon boat in no problem. The house had breathtaking views. Everything was spotless. We only used the master room. It had its own deck and a luxurious master bath. Our favorite part was relaxing with a beverage in the hot tub on the deck. Loved the seclusion of the place yet so close to town! I really needed this last minute vacation. We will return No doubt!!!

Best Rental I’ve Ever Had

This cabin is magical, and the photos don’t do it justice! It was the perfect cozy, rustic lake getaway, blending comfort with a deep connection to nature.The owner let us know we were the first renters after a major renovation and made herself available for any questions. She responded quickly, and the cabin was well-equipped!Kitchen had everything we needed to prepare multiple meals, and the open layout made it easy to stay connected to a group of friends in the living area we had over for dinner. The automatic fireplace added the perfect touch of warmth in the evenings, and the living room was a great space to watch a movie before bed— and speaking of beds, they were super comfy!The deck was a dream. We spent most of our time in Adirondack-style chairs, drink in hand, with a perfect lake view. The hot tub was large and perfectly heated for stargazing at night (we saw soooo many stars!), and sunrise on the upstairs balcony felt like our own secret hideaway.The lake was low in late March, but still high enough to enjoy the owner-provided canoe, which was fun! Dock was sturdy and easy to use.Overall theming is immersive, blending homey comfort with rustic retreat. My favorite room was the primary bath—doorknobs shaped like tree branches, river stone flooring, forest-green tile, and a cathedral window that made it feel like showering in the woods!The road is narrow and winding—drive carefully.Overall, an incredible stay. We’re already talking about coming back!

The house was very clean with many amenities!The garage was converted into a game room with ping pong, foosball, Pac-Man, and karaoke which our kids LOVED. Parking was good, definitely don’t haul your boat up the road though! As the listing says, use the launch and drive to the dock.

The Boondocks was a perfect place for our week at Douglas Lake. It was on a peaceful cove that was great for swimming, kayaking, and paddle boarding. The game room in the garage lending many hours of family ping pong, foosball, and Ms Pac-Man! The location was perfect for our family, we could easily get to Dollywood and the Outlet malls as well as to Dandridge. Hannah was very responsive and made our stay easy! Thank you!
