Your quaint getaway awaits in Coloma at this lovely house. With 3 bedrooms including a queen bed, a full bed, 2 twin bunk beds, and even a trundle bed in the living room. This charming retreat offers a comfortable stay for guests. Located just steps from Lake Michigan and its beaches this house is situated between both St Joseph and South Haven, under 15 minutes to either, and along the wine trail. Watch hummingbirds flit about as you sip your morning coffee. Enjoy family time outdoors with games and s'mores under the quiet starry skies.

Some wonderful features and amenities include:
-Outdoor shower for rinsing sand off from the nearby beaches
-Large yard with gas grill, many outdoor toys/games (swim noodles and more), plenty of seating, and a fire pit
-Kitchen has all utensils and supplies for cooking, grilling and dining. Seasonings, condiments, etc. at your disposal
- A regular coffee maker and a Breville capuccino maker with grinder for the provided espresso beans - have coffee in the morning on the front porch!
- Bottled water station! Fill up your stainless bottles for the day and for the beach!
- 2 smart TVs to login to your streaming services (Living Room and Bedroom)
- Wall and window units and ceiling fans in every bedroom

Perfect location!

We stayed here for my bachelorette weekend. Great location to go to Carriage House Ciders, tubing at PawPaw River Campground, and sunset at Hagar Beach. It was a great set up in the home and fire pit out back. Would recommend the Lake Effect Ice Cram and Eatery for coffee, ice cream, or a quick breakfast bite!

Sweet, quiet getaway

Very spacious home with great backyard in a safe and secluded location 1 mile away from our favorite Hagar Beach. Lots of special touches we appreciated - from the bundles of wood - to the welcome S’more kit - to the spices, all new condiments. Very nicely done!

Perfect place for our family!

We loved staying here! Everything was clean, and comfortable. The air conditioning unit does a great job of cooling the entire house! Backyard was great for our family to play the outdoor games that were provided and have a bonfire for s’mores. A great place to stay for sure!

Cute little house! The window airs with the included fans kept the main part of the house cool. The bedroom closest to the front door was a little warm but my daughter didn’t seem to mind. Otherwise it was great!

Friends trip away

The house is cute, clean and comfortable. It's very close to the beach but the beach is Private but free public beaches are near buy. It's not brand new but a cute rustic and charming little place perfect for families. The smore pit was perfect and the host was very nice.

Anniversary weekend Getaway

Better than expected! Love the decor! Upon arrival We walked into the house and found fresh baked brownies on a platter that said Happy Anniversary surrounded in a heart of flower petals. The owners were very responsive with any questions we had. They made sure our 3 kids had a variety of things to do. Would definitely recommend this place and would stay again!

Close to both St. Joseph and South Haven

We enjoyed the closeness to the beaches from this property. Fell in love with the Michigan beaches on this trip. Kat was very easy to communicate with. I would recommend new skillets and pots - non-stick would have been nice. Appreciated the coffee and filters for the coffee pot.

Great location and stay!!

We had a group of six girls ranging from 10yrs old to 40yrs old on our visit in July of 2023 and we had a blast. The location of SuzyQ was right in between St. Joseph and South Haven which was perfect for beaches and downtown walking. The house had a nice shower outside for the kids to wash the sand off after the beach days, which was great! There was plenty of sleeping room to accommodate everyone. Check in was very easy and check out was the same. There were plenty of household items including a washer and dryer, which was very nice! We arrived to SuzyQ with a cute welcome note and items to make s'mores in the backyard fire pit. I would definitely recommend SuzyQ for a stay in Michigan close to beaches and downtowns.

I’ve stayed at many vrbos in SW Michigan with my family over the past 15 years- so I’m definitely a picky customer. That being said- I was thrilled with Suzy Q! What I really enjoyed was that the owners went the extra mile to provide for the renters- from a fully stocked seasoning drawer, to butter, common condiments in the fridge, and a water cooler (since the area has well water!), to a fully stocked board game and cards shelf! My 15 and 18 year old were thrilled not to have to share a room, and I was thrilled that they could shower off the beach sand in the outside shower! There was ample seating to enjoy fresh air outside, as well as enjoy the fire pit. It’s nice to be close to a less populated beach (Hagar Park Beach) and not have to fight the crowds at the more populated beaches. That being said, it’s nice to be a short drive to South Haven, St Joe’s, even Saugatuck/Douglas for a day trip and meals! The wall AC unit did a great job keeping the house cool and the ceiling fans kept the air flowing. A final chef’s kiss to the owners for providing both coffee beans and espresso beans- I highly recommend starting your day with a cup of Joe on the front porch with only the sound of the birds- BEFORE your family wakes up!

Average and Simple

Pros: -Enjoyed Hagar Park for beach time. Super close and convenient to location. -quiet neighborhood despite being near neighbors and highway. -beds and couches were comfortable. -location was in the middle of two big areas (South Haven and St. Joe) allowing for easier exploring both areas. -some updates throughout. Hopefully more work is in progress to really help the cottage stand out as great. -outdoor shower was a huge plus after spending all day in the sand! -bright, fun colors throughout -beautiful flowers out front Cons: -No Central AC! In our 10ish years of using VRBO to travel, I’ve never thought to ask if a house has this. I now know. One small wall unit is not enough and most of the windows didn’t have screens to allow them to be opened. Sure, the country is in the middle of a heat wave but it was uncomfortably too warm, especially when cooking or trying to sleep. -Bathroom would benefit from a medicine cabinet or other shelf/storage. Counter space is very small for getting ready. -Shower curtain terrified our 4 year old, like she refused to even use the toilet if the curtain wasn’t flipped up around the rod. -broken decor, bent and very old blinds, dust built up on fridge, in cups on high shelves and under beds, some holes in walls, curtains not hemmed to floor length creating tripping hazard. Overall, the Lake Michigan area was amazing. We loved our beach days. We loved exploring South Haven and St. Joseph (vegan ice cream at Cabanas!) We absolutely look forward to returning. We’d love to use the Suzy Q again because of the pros listed and will watch the listing to see if some more updates are done to make this more comfortable overall!

The host is 100/10

The host was truly exceptional. We wanted early check in and she bent over backward to accommodate. We had one very minor issue and she was back to me immediately and even checked back again to make sure everything was resolved. The home was very cute and cozy and the outdoor shower was amazing for kids after getting cornered in sand. The best were exceptionally comfortable and I’ve been on the search for the pillows used because they were amazing as well. The only thing I will say is there was not much entertainment in the area which is no fault of the host. If you’re looking for a relaxing get away with absolutely beautiful beaches, this is the spot for you.

Great style, fantastic location

The house was just as pictured, very stylish and just enough space for our family. There is some wear on the cushions but we really felt comfortable and enjoyed the porch, the backyard, and just playing games at the large table. The kids loved the bunk room - it even has some color-changing led lights going around the room. The beds were very comfortable and the full size fridge was nice. There are plastic dishes to use but no "real" plates or glasses. That's nice being as we had children with us, but for cooking dinner I hate to put really hot food onto plastic. We loved the outdoor shower for hosing off after the beach - it was the best way not to bring sand into the house. And we found that Hagar Park beach, while it does have some steps to access it, was our favorite. Much less crowded than St. Joe's or SoHa and parking is free there too. Just a few minutes drive away! The home had beautiful fresh flowers in several rooms and the location is top notch. We jumped between SoHa, St. Joe's, and Coloma for food out and things to do. The pamphlets in the house actually led us to Sarett Nature Center which was really great if you like hiking or just want to get out of the sun for a day - kids under 12 are free and adults were only $3. We would stay here again and appreciated how clean this cute house was at arrival!

Great cozy little cottage

Suzy Q was the perfect getaway place. We wanted a quiet relaxing few days and this was perfect! It’s located just a few minutes from Hagar Park Beach and about 15 mins from Silver Beach! Suzy Q was comfy and had plenty of room. It allowed for some much needed unwinding and relaxing. Love this place and plan to return again!!!

4 days near the beach

The property was very much as described, nice to see a few more, cups, glasses, tea spoons. dishwasher was full of clean pots and pans when we arrived, no sheets for the one double bed, a text to the owner and sheets arrived within 20 minutes. The water is from a well and although clean to drink had a musty smell, bathroom and shower all good. Closest beach about 3 miles with good car parking.. Good parking at the property and very quiet. All in all a good few days.

Perfect Beach Vacation for Families

Our stay in Coloma was the best way to do a beach vacation in Michigan! The house was perfect for families with kids - it had all the amenities for cooking at home and outdoor play in the evenings. Plus it's minutes from multiple smaller beaches that we ended up enjoying more than the bigger towns! We can't wait to make this an annual trip!

Great Home & Location!

The house is really cute and clean, everything we needed, kids loved it, and Kat is awesome (thank you!)! Especially loved the location too, a really nice little beech minutes drive up the road for killing time or taking in a sunset, but then right in between St. Joseph and South Haven for all other attractions - wish we would’ve stayed a day or two longer!

Great little house

Brought my daughter and some friends to celebrate her birthday. Arrived to birthday decorations, cupcakes, and yard games. They loved the bunk beds room and overall decor. Location was central to all of the activities we planned and worked out perfectly.

A relaxing stay

We had a relaxing stay. -About 15 minutes from the beach in St. Joseph. We only went to that beach, but there were others within a few minutes ( or maybe even walking distance). -The water does have a noticeable sulfur smell, but it wasn't a big deal. -I wasn't really getting hot water in the bathroom sink. I looked and it appeared to be hooked up and there was a valve that appeared to be open, but I didn't investigate further. -My nearly-four-year-old daughter was scared of the elephant on the shower curtain, and reluctant to use the bathroom. Not really a complaint, or anything I would change (having the curtain open so she couldn't really see the elephant helped some), but others with young children might have the same problem. Still a cute curtain. -(Just info about the area) There's a Meijer in Benton Harbor that wasn't really nice, but there was a Wal-Mart near it that was a little nicer. While there, I talked to a police officer who said St. Joseph and Benton Harbor are right next to each other but completely different places, with Benton Harbor being much less safe. He said about 4 miles South of St. Joseph there was a town called Stevensville that has a Meijer that is much nicer. However, we did have breakfast at The Mason Jar Cafe in Benton Harbor, which was very good.

All the basics included

Property manager is very helpful, location is quiet and close to the lake and only about 15mins to Saint Joseph for good food. I would recommend to any group where 1 bathroom is sufficient.

Nice little getaway

Nice and clean. Host was quick to respond and easy check in and out. Only thing that bothered us was the strong water smell (sulfur).
