Fully stocked kitchen and great views

Very clean and comfortable property with a stocked kitchen. The pools are very nice and beach access is very convenient. The binoculars and viewing lenses were a great addition. We enjoyed people and animal watching from the balcony. The property was clean and had everything you would need to enjoy your beach stay. We highly recommend this property and will return if we visit Dauphin Island in the future.

The island no very few restaurants and only 2 open during the ā€œ off seasonā€. Bring your own food because there is none on the island. The condo itself is very nice and the property is great. Clean beach with white sand.

Wonderful!

The weather didnā€™t cooperate but we still had a great time at Dauphin Island! The condo was well-stocked and very clean. We appreciated the beach umbrella and chairs. The view is amazing and we enjoyed using the telescopes and binoculars too. We hope to be back soon!!

Great family vacation

Our trip was amazing had lots of fun at beach and pool a lot of good food places. Walk is little farther then I expected from pictures. But was worth it. Condo was very well stocked with everything you would need. Getting ahold of the owner was very easy as well. Will book here again when we go back to dauphin island in a few years.

Wonderful Christmas getaway!

Property is exactly as described. Comfortable, well-appointed, beautiful views! 1st time on Dauphin Island and loved the laid-back and relaxing vibes. Had a small issue of smoke alarm low battery beeping in bedroom, but owner was quick to send someone to change it "after hours." A great experience during a very cold snap in Lower Alabama.

Great uncrowded relaxing trip

The condo was great and was stocked with just about anything youā€™d need for your trip (both kitchen wise and beach wise). There are plenty of sand toys and things of that nature for kids (we had a 6 year old and 1 year old with us), a high chair, pack n play, games, ample seating on the huge balcony. If youā€™re looking for a comfortable spot in a relaxing location then this is it. The beach is definitely a bit of a walk, especially in the heat, but I recommend bringing an umbrella to shade yourself (especially with little ones) and itā€™s not that bad. I would definitely recommend staying here and would stay here again without a doubt!

This is our 4th year spending summer vacation at Holiday Isle on Dauphin Island and the first time in this particular unit. The guidebook we were sent had some new information that we hadnā€™t known before. There was a storm in the Gulf that caused the beaches to be closed for rip tides and high seas. And the telescopes the owner had on the property were a nice diversion to look out on the ocean. We will definitely consider again if the unit is available as this was our 4th year vacationing at Dauphin Island and we do it each year.

Prefect Condo!

We were so impressed with this condo. This was our first to the island, so we weren't sure what to expect. John goes out of his way to make sure condo is fully stocked with things you might have forgotten. There is plenty of towels and linen, cooking utensils and dishes, books to read, plenty of room in condo. Check in was so easy. John does a excellent job of communicating if you need anything. One last thing the view is amazing! One of the best views I've had from a condo balcony(which by the way is HUGE)!

Wonderful First Visit to Dauphin Island!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay. It was my daughterā€™s first time at the beach and she absolutely loved it! The island, town, and beach are very accommodating to families and visitors just wanting to not be surrounded by people and high rise condominiums. This property was no different. My family and I did not feel awkward in someone elseā€™s place. The owner provided all the information we needed for check in and check out along with recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. We will definitely be back to Dauphin Island for future beach trips.

Fabulous host w/ clean and comfortable condo

Condo clean & comfortable. We appreciated having necessities there; toilet paper, paper towels, hand soaps, beach & bath towels/wash cloths, dish towels/cloths, laundry detergent, dish soap, etc. There are even condiments in the refrigerator, cooking oils, canned goods, freezer food, etc. Internet/wifi was functional & fast. View from large balcony is gorgeous w/table, 6 chairs, & 2 chaise loungers. Owner provides beach wagon, chairs, & numerous other beach items. Primary bedroom king mattress is very firm & high. If you are short you may need help getting up on it. Queen bedroom mattress is the most comfortable soft mattress Iā€™ve ever slept on. Ceiling fan in that room makes quite a racket so you probably canā€™t use it while sleeping. Condo had numerous books to read covering various topics from the Beatles, birding, fiction, non-fiction, & local areas. If you use the streaming services make sure to delete your account off the TV before you leave. We would definitely stay here again or at any other of the ownerā€™s listings as well based on this experience. Some other general reflections on the areaā€¦ā€¦ā€¦ā€¦ā€¦We found area to be quiet & laid back. Call ahead to any of the few restaurant or stores to confirm hours of operation. Donā€™t trust Facebook, website, or menus. Some places listed are closed & new places listed nowhere yet. Many places close at 8pm, open only on weekends, or have unusual hours. Some are take-out only. Parking at public beach areas is $10 daily. Low water pressure in showers for whole building. Would love to see a handheld shower head for those of us who have physical limitations. 1 standalone shower & 1 jacuzzi tub in primary bedroom & 1 shower/tub combo in 2nd bathroom. Bathtub is deep w/ high walls to step into or bathe children in if you have physical limitations. Fishing requires a license. Beach is a Ā¼ mile from the pool/beach entrance of condo building. Wood boardwalk for half the way (not in good shape). Tremendous amount of seaweed on beach & water. Outdoor pool is covered & about 90% shade which was great. Both pools could use a good cleaning. Tile on the interior of both pools were covered w/ pool scum & needs scrubbing. Decks need to be pressure washed. Other condo balconies had smokers, loud talkers, and music that you can hear from this balcony. Couldnā€™t hear/smell it inside condo. Common areas of the building (not condo) are dated & I wouldnā€™t call them luxury. I would say just average & some sprucing up needed.

Beautiful condo, beautiful island

The condo was exactly what we were expecting. We were scammed last summer on a condo and was super nervous about renting again, without a rental company. Everything went very well and we received our check in info before our check in date! We had a great time and would definitely rent again. I have a feeling the owners are amazing people

I live in New Orleans and own three beachfront condos, in Pass Christian, Mississippi and Dauphin Island, Alabama and a mountain getaway in Sapphire, North Carolina. I have my kites and my birding interests. I don't like to walk across the highway to experience the beach. I like to live on the beach. So here you have direct beach living with nothing but raw nature between you and the sand, dunes and water.

This is island living at its best. Having lived on several islands in the Aegean Sea, I know the experience of island living. I know how it feels to see the mainland in the distance while knowing you are not part of the mainland environment. You are in a separate, different world inducing an island state of mind. The rawness of this barrier island captures that sensation. On the island you can experience the intimacy of nature and the beauty of the shimmering Gulf of Mexico in its primal, unadulterated form. The island is a unique place, and this unit at the unique Holiday Isle resort offers everything: opulent condo, luxury resort, with truly incredible views of the beach and Gulf of Mexico from this special high-rise condo (while of course staying high and dry!).

I am a birder. The island is a major stopping point for birds migrating back and forth from Latin America. I like to watch the herons, pelicans, cormorants and other sea and air creatures while enjoying the spacious balcony, using the powerful optics provided. Of course I also like the amenities of a quality resort, in an opulent setting, and we certainly have that here. On the island you witness the divine sense of nature in a pacifying setting without the unnecessary and distracting trappings of modernity and commercialism so prevalent on the mainland. Enjoy the unique harmony of this haven of serenity suitable for undisturbed reflection.

The whole island is a bird sanctuary. Please use our high-power binoculars and scopes and our tripods. We have a great library focusing on birding, boating, the Gulf of Mexico, and regional wildlife and history.
