Decent place

Think this was first time someone has stayed there. Quiet house with access to river. Close to some food spots. House seemed to be just bug bombed/sprayed before arrival so we swept up lots of dead bugs. Old house that has been touched up, but with a weird layout. Strange split door with 2 door knobs to master bedroom. Master bath/laundry room has different floor levels so watch your step going into it and for using toilet as well as shower. The towels/wash cloths seemed quite old. Several ac window units. Not bad place but depends on what used to or expecting. Maybe a little pricey for what it is. Does have nice relaxing view of river.

It was infested with bugs, roaches ants. Mold, spider webs. Did not match the pictures at all. Host claimed they had exterminator come out to spray but nobody to clean up? It was filthy with bugs.

When these concerns were brought to our attention, we responded promptly and requested photos so we could properly assess the situation. Unfortunately did not receive any follow-up or documentation. We also want to clarify that we did not state that cleaning would not be handled. Our team is always available to address any cleanliness or maintenance concerns during a stay. Additionally, the concerns mentioned in this review were not fully communicated to us. The home is on a regular pest control schedule. Had we received the requested information, we would have taken immediate steps to investigate and resolve the concerns in real time. We remain committed to maintaining the home and appreciate all feedback that helps us continue to improve.

My family of four stayed here over the weekend. The location is right on the river...and close to many things in Canyon Lake and close to New Braunfels. It was fun to go check out the Dam and walk along the long walkway. The A/C is managed by 3 window units that cool well but are very loud. My family has stayed in a handful of river/lake houses and are no stranger to an older property and don't expect everything to be perfect and top of the line. This was the first property that I was very disappointed in the cleanliness though. The kitchen was clean, well stocked and the rooms were vacuumed and the house is outfitted with comfortable seating. The floors however were very dirty. Dead bugs were everywhere...along baseboards, dead ants covering the bathroom floors, dead roaches and bugs everywhere. I received a feedback text and the property management company did offer to send housekeeping out to clean again. This was a nice offer however we were only staying two nights and we didn't want to have to spend our short time there dodging the cleaning crew. They told us the floors had been cleaned the day before our arrival. While this may have been true, I find it hard to believe that the amount of dead bugs could have appeared in less than 24 hours. However, the live and dead bugs continued to multiply over our two days so I think the bigger issue is the pest problem. There were also a ton of wasps around the front and back and so many ants everywhere.

As a riverfront property surrounded by nature, occasional insects can be more common, especially during certain times of the year.
