The Stay at The Wildland is a non-toxic, peaceful retreat for the whole family, bordered by the historic James River and the sweeping Blue Ridge Mountains. Set a half-mile from the road and surrounded by rolling meadows and beautiful, old trees, and nestled within the largest kincentric rewilding project in Turtle Island, this working farm and retreat is comprised of a 7,000 square foot replica of George Washington’s Mount Vernon home, and a lush landscape of gardens, fields, woods, and water.
*Our Home* With its six bedrooms, fully equipped and spacious kitchen, two living rooms, a massive rough-hewn oak dining table that seats 14, The Stay at The Wildland is the ideal accommodation for a family or group of friends looking to find peace, a mountain getaway, and a silent night in rural Virginia. Sanitized but not sterile: all of our cleaning is non-toxic and fragrance-free. Sleep without the smells and synthetics: all of our linens are non-toxic and 100% chemical free. Walk the land without worry: there are ABSOLUTELY ZERO pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides used on the entire property. Live well with mitigated EMF exposure: while supplied with high-speed fiber internet, all wifi routers are contained within Faraday cages. This is NOT a smart house.
The home provides plenty of common space, yet it is still designed for luxurious privacy and comfort. The beds are sumptuous, the showers are over-sized, the decor is gorgeous— Modern Colonial and chic— with original art and generously-appointed details everywhere.

What a perfect place. We had our family to include our three adult children and their spouses as well as their own children, and then friends from Georgia with their adult children, spouses and children. we could not have asked for a better place. It was so comfortable and immediately felt like home. It is a beautiful property and definitely high-end, but at the same time you felt very welcome and at home there. It is well acquit for anything that you would want. We brought a lot of our own kitchen stuff with us because we were used to staying in places that were not as well equipped, but this one was ready for anything. It is also very child friendly. The kitchen is equipped with kids, plates, bowls, cups, and even slip covers for the chairs for toddlers if needed. There is an outdoor playground and plenty of toys for the kids as well. Even though there were 12 adults and five kids, we had more than enough room for each person. The host, Morgan, was immediately responsive to any questions. We had sort of a reunion at this location with planned days of winetasting locally. Do you know that you have to drive about an hour to get to any of the wineries, but the drives are beautiful and would not disappoint. We would strongly recommend this location, particularly for large families or reunion gatherings. We even hope to return ourselves again someday in the future.
