We had a perfect extended family getaway by the lake. The sandy beach, dock and paddle gear made our stay so much fun! The in-law apartment worked out great to give us all space while still being so close.

Beautiful property and view from the dining window. Location is magnificent. Wife, kids and myself loved the beach, kayaks, paddle boards, etc. Communication with Peter was excellent.We look forward to coming back.

Lovely location right on the lake with beautiful views from the living room window. When I needed to communicate twice with the host, he answered right away. The home was outfitted with everything we needed and was as described in the listing.

Great memories, fantastic weather!

We had a wonderful time, the place was perfect for us. The weather was fantastic and Peter was a very gracious host. We hope to rent it next year! The lake is beautiful and quiet. Some of our favorite times were paddle boarding and kayaking.

Relaxing vacation

Had a great week on Sabbathday Lake. The house was very clean and Peter was responsive when we had any questions. The lake was perfect to kayak, fish and paddleboard. The beach was clean. It was a good location to stay and travel around the area.

The view can't be beat. The cabin was clean and very cute. Our only complaint was that the bed was very soft and bouncy for our taste and we considered sleeping on the mattress on the floor upstairs but didn't want to be that far from the bathroom (old people problems). We used a couple of the kayaks to cruise out on the calm waters in the morning and loved hearing the loons. We didn't realize the beach was shared and was surprised to see a couple of ladies swimming out there when we woke up. We had plans and were in and out a lot that weekend... but when we were there... we were on that beach gazing at that beautiful lake. I bet it's stunner in the fall when the leaves change!

It was a wonderful stay at Peters property. His communication was top notch. We really couldnā€™t be happier with the place, as it greatly exceeded our expectations. Being right on the lake at this time of year was simply wonderful. Every detail was thought about and if we are every back in the area, we will definitely look this property up.

A little piece of paradise

This cozy and stylish lakeside house has everything you need. It's beautifully and comfortably furnished and well stocked with all the necessities. The lake, just steps from the house, has a paddle boat, canoe, and paddle boards. The Shaker Village a few minutes' drive away is fascinating. Can't wait to visit again.

Well provisioned, comfortable, wonderful location

We had a wonderful time. The cottage is very comfortable and the lake is very close. I had to drag the kids out of the lake most days. Great location close to Portland, Freeport, the western mountains, etc. Clearly the owner understands what people want in a vacation place and he has provided it. Thanks for a great two weeks.

Excellent lake front house

My wife and two daughters just finished our weekend stay and we had an absolute blast. The beach and dock were excellent. There were plenty of water toys and the water is crystal clear. The grocery store is close, the Maine Wildlife park is just down the road, and it's not far off I95 so it made for a pretty great weekend getaway. We will hopefully be back next summer. Thank you Peter!

Everything you could possibly need for the perfect Maine vacation!

This property exceeded our expectations; the cottage has all the amenities, and the lake view was amazing! The owner, Peter, was so kind to check in with us after we first arrived to ensure that we had everything we needed...really appreciated that personal touch! Our only regret is that we did not have an opportunity to use the wonderful outdoor space the owner has created for guests as we were constantly "on the go" with local family. We would definitely rent this cottage again!

Beautiful House!

This house is absolutely beautiful, well maintained, clean, and stocked better than any other rental house we have ever stayed in! The owner, Peter, lives close by and is very welcoming and at the ready to help should you need anything; he really made us feel like family during our stay. One night we were going to grill and the propane tank ran out; Peter came by with a new tank in no time and we were on our way to enjoying burgers. We are looking forward to the chance to stay here again!

Beautiful & Peaceful Lake House

This is an incredible property if you are lucky enough to be in the area. The house is cozy and well stocked with all the comforts of home. The view from both units is gorgeous. The beach access is large with plenty of room to hang out or partake in many water activities, which the owner has provided. The location is nice and quiet. We had a hard time leaving! Peter the owner is very friendly and accommodating.

Peacefull vacation

Very clean and well supplied with everything needed for a relaxing week. The owner was available for questions when needed, but was not at all intrusive. The dock was not available due to the excessive rain, but Peter made arrangements with a neighbor to use their dock for our boat. Very nice.

This a beautiful property on a clean, quiet lake.

Peterā€™s property is nicely updated with tasteful decor and is well stocked with everything you could need; from kitchen supplies, to beach towels, even beach toys for the kids. The lake is clean and quiet and the beach in front of the property is large and great for kids to play on. We enjoyed multiple meals with our large extended family on the outdoor eating spaces. Having a grill to use was awesome. Peter was attentive to all our needs. Thank you Peter for an amazing vacation spot!

Simply perfect lake house!

This place is incredible! A great location right on Sabbathday lake but also in terms of proximity to Portland and surrounding towns. The view from the living room over the lake is amazing - especially at sunrise! My husband and I rented this and Peters next door property for our friends and family to stay at leading up to our wedding - it was the perfect setup that allowed everyone a comfortable place to sleep while providing the perfect spaces to hang out together. Everything was perfect during our stay and Peter was an A+ host - very accommodating and quick to respond leading up to our stay. We are definitely coming back!!

My family and myself had a wonderful time. A very relaxing vacation no hustle and bustle just kicking back... Lake water clean and refreshing Sandy beach and house very clean. The owner Peter lives a few houses down and is assessable. Always there if you needed something or had any questions and a great person. We rebooked for next year and canā€™t wait !!

PEACE!!

Total relaxation! This was our first trip to Maine to visit my brother and his familyā€”I can now see why they are so in love with this state! The view from this house overlooking the lake will put anyone at complete peace. Sit outside, enjoy watching the kids use the provided life jackets, paddle boards, 2 person paddle boat, kayak and canoe while taking in the breathtaking scenery. Thank you Peter for a wonderful stay!

Wonderful summer stay!

Peter was very responsive and easy to work with. The house was clean and well kept. The downstairs studio was a plus. Peter also gave a lot of thought into the supplies within the house and outside. He had firewood, candles, insect candle, water bucket to wash your feet off before entering the house, water tubes, everything for the kitchen and bath. It was a wonderful stay and it would be my pick again for years to come.

Family Vacation

We booked this site because of the lake, the location to Portland and golf courses, and the ability to bring our dogs. We were blessed that all 3 of our adult children got the time off, we were all together with my 90 year old Mom. The house was perfect, we loved spending the whole day in the lake, Peter supplies the paddle boards, canoes, kayaks, and a paddle boat. The setting was amazing, and our son proposed to his girlfriend on the dock in front of our family!!! It was a perfect week in the perfect spot, we will be coming back for sure!!!!! Thank You Peter for such an amazing location for our momentous event!!!
