Beautiful, bright two bedroom house on desirable Panther Pond. Cottage sits on 65 feet of unobstructed private waterfront with breathtaking views and easy, comfortable access to the lake with sandy, clean lake floor. Aluminum dock with bench is perfect for relaxing and fishing. Multiple kayaks and water play items provided; swim platform offers additional option for fun on the lake. The house offers an open floor plan with a full wall of windows overlooking the lake, two seating areas including a TV area with new Sunbrella couch, large dining table, beautiful built-in book cases, and updated kitchen. Bedroom 1 has a king bed; bedroom 2 has a twin over full bunk bed with trundle, all with comfortable mattresses. Linens are provided including down-alternative comforters with duvet covers. Bathroom is clean and bright with full size washer and dryer. Large deck off the living area with gorgeous views of the lake; stairs lead down to grass lawn with picnic table. Property is well appointed with kitchen wear, linens, books, games, puzzles, and toys. Ice cream, sandwich shop and local market are minutes away; property is 10 minutes from Windham and 25 miles from Portland. We have rented lake houses for years and understand what can help make your vacation comfortable; the house has been prepared with your needs in mind!

Get away weekend

Beautiful cottage on the lake

Christmas Celebration

We greatly enjoyed our time celebrating Christmas at this amazing cottage. There was plenty of space for the 6 of us. The view was beautiful and our kids enjoyed the toys and books. Mike was a great and honest host. We hope to return!

Good place

This is a perfect place for a couple plus 2 kids. 2 more people could squeeze in, but they'd be sleeping on a futon out in the living room. Loved the canoe and 2 kayaks, the house really is only a few steps from the water, lots of windows to see out, I thought it was a good value.

Thanks so much for the kind review - we're glad you enjoyed your stay! For clarification regarding occupancy, the house has two bedrooms, but there are sleeping arrangements for 6 in beds: 1 king bed in the first bedroom and a twin-over-full bunk bed and a twin trundle in the second bedroom. While this may not be ideal for some groups (3 adult couples for example), there is space for 6 people to be in beds. We stay comfortably with two adults and three children.

The pond is crystal clear and bigger than any pond I know! It was a cozy place to be with wonderful windows looking outside with plenty of light. The hosts were great, answering questions and providing everything one would need. Thanks!

Another Year, Another Piece of Paradise!

Despite the rainy weather, Our stay at the lake house was just WONDERFUL! My husband and I love the peace and serenity that the lake house and its extraordinary surroundings! Thank you Mike-for all the accommodations and "going the extra mile" to make our stay simply magical!

A most welcome retreat

Due to a medical condition we were unsure of our travel plans the day before our rental, but when we did arrive we felt immediately at peace in this comfortable and beautiful spot. There was plenty of room to spread out our activities and relax, plus the close access to the water made kayaking effortless. All of the appliances were in excellent condition and Mike responded quickly to our questions. I would certainly book again!

Perfect Get Away

Amazing property just steps away from the lake. Stayed on Panther Pond to do some fish. Having dock access made getting on and off the water extremely easy. Also a nice sandy swimming area to enjoy. The house was extremely well maintained. With numerous large windows you have great views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Above all our host was very accommodating. Would recommend spending a few days!

Great, quiet experience on a peaceful lake

Enjoyed a few days of cottage by the lake. Very nice property overall. Drive to property is steep and would need 4x4 if icy or snowing if you’re there in the winter. Loved the views from the family room and cottage very well stocked. Had a plumbing issue and host quickly responded and got a plumber out to solve it within hours on New Years Day. We would stay here again.

Absolutely Perfect!

This cottage is beautiful! It has everything you could need and then some. The owner is very communicative and quick to answer questions. The kitchen is well stocked, there is lots of beddings, pillows, towels, etc. We spend an un-traditional Thanksgiving here and loved every minute! The view cannot be beat and we are already talking about booking for early next summer. It was just that perfect!

Picture perfect!

This is a beautiful property! The pictures don’t even do it justice! The house is perfect and the view is spectacular! Our host Mike was perfect as well. He gave us all of the information we would need ahead of time and even found out some specific information for us after our trip! My wife and I couldn’t have asked for a better property or host! Accurate listing and responsive owner

What you see is what you get with this listing. It is accurate to what the house and property is like. Mike was quick to answer any questions I had before and during our stay. Like others have said, it is best to go with a vehicle that has 4 wheel drive. We hope to be back next winter.

Picture perfect

We had an amazingly peaceful time here on Panther Pond. The place was exactly as described. Mike was communicative and gave plenty of suggestions on what to do and where to eat. We’d definitely come back! One negative was that the living room furniture was not the most comfortable, but for the limited time we actually spent in front of the tv it was a very minor inconvenience. All in all, I couldn’t have chosen a better place for our first trip to Maine.

Hi Amanda, Thank you for the review. I apologize for the couch not being comfortable. This is something we are aware and we have a replacement sectional on order for the living room. Due to long delivery times of furniture right now, we were not able to have it their in advance of your stay. The good news is it will arrive in the next few weeks. Pictures dont do it justice

We spent the perfect snowy weekend here and it was amazing! The little touches are beyond thoughtful. Every book, toy, nicknack, and peice of art was just what home would have. We loved the TONS of towels and LINENs! The pots and pans and conveniences of home are included! We loved EVERY PART of our stay! Only improvement needed is large drive way marker/plow steak where rock is in the driveway at the turn. 2 of us hit when under snow.

Awesome Visit

Beautiful scenery, windows across back wall, we had welcoming snow (3/4-1 inch), snow plow guy arrived to clear driveway and entrance to house, it also snowed the day before we left (3/4-1 inch)... Interior of home was very nice, high ceilings, nice appliances, (coffee maker could be updated), Nice tv, couch, chairs, dining table, very nice fire place (wasn't actually working though) and shelving with many books and games available. Binoculars were used each day... Overall, we would certainly return, Five Star visit for us...

Family Time

Mike is a great host. He was very responsive and thorough. The cottage was modern and the furniture was comfortable. Loved being able just to swim right in front of the cottage and wonderful for our little one. Lots of books, toys, and games for everyone. Quiet area, which was very relaxing. Kayaks and life vests were available for our own use. It was nice that it was accessible for a family member. Bonus for that! The stores were very close which was helpful. July can be very hot, ceiling fans and box fans were included.Lots of places to buy wood for the fire pit. What a great way to end a day!

September Weekend

The property is beautiful and was so clean. Michael and his wife have thought of everything that you would need as well. I loved the built in bookshelves and the color-coded book arrangements. We didn't get to be outside much due to poor weather unfortunately, but would have loved the use of their kayaks. Panther Pond is so beautiful. Michael was extremely quick to respond throughout our connection. There was a notebook with instructions within the cottage. I received an email as well. I was impressed with the detail. Thank you so much for your efforts.

Perfection with a View

My wife and I took a late March trip and spent a week at this lovely property. Prior to our visit, Michael the owner was communicative and did everything possible to ensure we had the best getaway. The property is on a very large pond and the views were breathtaking. The home is so warm, comfortable and very well equipped. It was super clean, beds comfortable, tv had numerous channels, Wi-Fi no issue with connecting, kitchen amazing and plenty of books, games and puzzles. Plenty of local restaurants and sights to see- even in March. Anything we needed was there, we had no concerns and Michael checked in with us virtually to ensure all was going well. This is a 5 star property that is managed by a 5 star host. Go, you will not be dissapointed. I have little doubt that I would hope we can return to this wonderful again in the future.

ME Trip

Nice place, beautiful view, updated inside, comfortable mattress, very spacious, lots of books, games, for kids and adults. Water toys, kayaks, rafts, etc. Well supplied kitchen. Nice washer and dryer. Barbecue grill, could be cleaned more often. Lots of couches, could be vacuumed and spot washed more often. Lots of towels, could add more face and hand towels. Very hot and humid with no AC unit. Old box fans that were not providing any relief. Nice windows; however, not effective for any breeze. Could have better instructions in using the TV remotes. Instructions in the book were not helpful. Overall nice place with a few suggestions, as stated above.

Lovely Stay at Panther Pond Cottage

This cottage was a wonderful choice! The area was quiet and easy to get to. The cottage is charming and had all the essentials. You can not beat the view of the pond and the serenity it provides. Our stay there was wonderful and we would love to visit again.
