The host was welcoming and helpful. The Hacienda was clean and comfortable with an amazing view. We loved the fantastic view and were able to watch the whales from the deck.

Perfect location - the whale watching was spectacular! Fantastic host and property manager. We spent a very relaxing week at the house, lounging next to the pool or popping down to the beach for a dip in the ocean. Would love to return!

Overall a stunning hacienda. The views were spectacular , seeing hump back whales daily. The pool and hot tub great. Access to the beach more challenging however there is a beach 7 minutes away with parking,snorkeling and safe swimming. Always good to be aware of strong currents . There are lots of stairs at the hacienda so it worked well with my grandchildren 9-12 but younger ones would need supervision. Had no use for the fireplace, weather was perfect, rarely used the air conditioning. An amazing meal was prepared by Elba with lots of leftovers. Snorkeling with the whale sharks was a highlight for all.

Wow!! A family vacation that exceeded expectations. Spending mornings at the beach with our children and grandchildren. From the pool and hot tub we watched whales migrating all day (remember your binoculars). Delicious dinners and drinks prepared by Elba. Maria is spectacular. We were greeted with a fully stocked kitchen (thank you Maria) and snacks prepared by Elba. Communication was excellent. Accommodations including the casita inviting and comfortable. Will be back. Thank you for making memories.

The host Matt A. was awesome to work with and so accommodating with all of our requests and changes. Maria Luisa, the property manager was also super responsive to any issues that came up during our stay. As to the property, it's a great location and beautifully kept property. We booked this location twice now and wish we could have booked a third time but it was already reserved. If you're looking for a great location that's clean and well kept look no further.

Just about perfect

Great location between San jose and cabo. Amazing views, daily whale show, your own private-ish beach, in a well provisioned house. This one is worth a repeat visit.

Hacienda Del Mar

Had a great stay at Hacienda Del Mar. The house and location provide everything we need to relax and whale watch and enjoy Cabo. Matt is very helpful and available.

Beautiful house with a fabulous host

You can’t beat the view from this house. We had two little kids and chose it for location but also because the pool was not directly out the front doors. It was perfect and Matt was incredibly helpful and responsive. Highly recommend!

HACIENDA DEL MAR

Awesome place! Would definitely come back. Best value I could find in CABO. Short walk to a great beach, which is basically your own private beach, hardly saw any other people there.Pool was amazing, view is amazing. The pictures don’t show the showers, which are old, but Very Mexican authentic, huge showers, very cool. The location is also perfect right near FRESCA and pharmacy if you need to go.Make sure you request ELBA to do tacos and guacamole, best Mexican food I have ever had in my life.

Loved it so much, we stayed a second time!

We love this home. It has a great layout, there is space for everyone and the views are fantastic! We loved getting up in the morning and looking for migrating whales from the patios. The owner and property manager are very receptive and could not be more pleasant. Communication was great and there was a great informational packet with info on things to do, where to eat and so on. We hope to come back again in 2022!

Beautiful house

Spent a week with a group of friends and enjoyed all the house had to offer. Plenty of space to lounge and enjoy the outdoors. House is true to photos. Would recommend a rental car as you needed to drive to everything. Beautiful views and we loved all the whales in the bay. The pool/hot tub was a bit finicky at times but the property manager was very helpful in addressing any issues.

Outstanding location, 270 degree views of sea of cortez

Excellent property, outstanding location. Clean property, every detail was taken care of, Beautiful landscape, very very relaxing, calm, peaceful and safe location.Need additional maintenance (lock for back entrance, cassita number lock, cassita window hinge broken, cassita faucet handle missing, spa light needs fixing, fire place glows one side hot and the other side does not fire up, noisy cassita fan, kitchen utensils needs to be refreshed, looks very used and old).It would be nice if the second floor masterbed had a ceiling fan, though a pedestal fan was provided.Would love to come back again

Christmas vacation

House was great. Our concierge was helpful. Although trying to make a call out local we could never figure out on cell phone or house phone. It’s quite the trek down to the beach so that’s a workout going down and up but beach is nice. Not best for swimming but very private. House is nice and quiet and Matt was also very helpful. Definitely had everything we needed.

Winter Vacation

Absolutely fantastic property. The view from the patio and pool is amazing. Was wondering to stare out over the infinity edge of pool and watch the whales breaching. The owner and manager were wonderful to deal with and very accommodating. Just be aware - there are lots of stairs. The height of the property help the view to be so great, but there are lots of stairs. Wasn't a problem for us. We will be back.

Very enjoyable stay

Overall the house was great - plenty of room inside and outside. The pool and hot tub were very nice and the views were awesome! The beds were comfortable and house was extremely clean. We loved the nearby private beach. Some of the kitchen appliances were a little dated (dishwasher did not work well and oven only had one rack and had to be manually lit). The pool lounge chairs were not that comfortable. This is a beautiful property, at a high price level, and these improvements are hopefully easy to remedy to keep the house at its best.

Lovely neighborhood ~ Hilltop view of the Ocean

Our family group of 7 enjoyed our stay at this pretty property with outstanding ocean views. The main house was a great fit for 5 adult children and the Casita below afforded Mom and Dad quiet time to hang out on their own when we wanted it. Property is a hike to the beach, which we came to enjoy, along with our morning coffee and very quiet beach walks. Our adult children loved the pool /jaccuzi. We highly recommend lunch at Flora Farms (a must see for culinary and floral lovers), shopping in San Jose Del Cabo downtown, and ATV tour for the kids. Thank you!

Perfect family vacation

Usually rental listings are like resumes, you expect and accept a certain degree of puffery. Not so with Hacienda del Mar. If anything, the listing did not do the property justice. The house and casita were perfect for our party of 8. Matt, the owner, and Maria, the property manager, were very responsive, both in advance of our visit to help us plan, and during the visit as needed. Everything necessary was provided and there is a great grocery very close by. I hope to have the chance to stay here again.

Beach week 2020

We stayed here last year and just as we remembered, the property, neighbored and view were great! Beds were very comfortable and always felt safe with the windows open so never even turned on the air conditioning. Rented a car with mex rent a car and had a great experience also. The security guard was always friendly and told us to wall left at the parking lot when going to the beach a few blocks from the house as this was more secluded from the big waves for the little kids. It was perfect! Loved Sardinia cantina and Cuervos house. Highly recommend this house and area!!! San Jose is a great town for families!

Great House, Amazing Views

Our family of four adults and five kids had a great time staying here. There was plenty of room for everyone with lots of privacy when you wanted it. The arrangement of two masters, a bunk room, and detached casita was the perfect configuration for us. The house has amazing views, looking east over the ocean. We saw several whales in the afternoon, and watching the sun come up in the morning was spectacular. The property manager was great and able to quickly resolve a couple of minor issues that came up. We wished we had a couple of extra days, and talked about wanting to come back next year. I highly recommend staying here.

Fabulous time at Hacienda del Mar!

Our group of 7 had a wonderful stay at Hacienda del Mar! As noted by almost every other reviewer, there's an absolutely stunning view of the ocean which we couldn't get enough of. The property has lots of outdoor space for relaxation. We enjoyed evening happy hours on the patio after spending the day in the lovely pool (which is where we spent most of our time because it was HOT!). The neighborhood is very quiet and the house is not far from the beach. The kitchen is well-stocked for making meals. We had Elba come cook for us one evening and she made an incredible meal - highly recommend! Maria, the property manager, was great and responded promptly to some questions we had. We hope to return!
