MOUNTAIN JOY COTTAGES #12 - Feathered Friends

This one bedroom cottage is a special treat for couples. This cottage has a jacuzzi tub for two and is complete with a full kitchen, dining area for two, and a cozy living room area where you can snuggle up in front of the fireplace. Perfect for honeymoons, anniversaries, or that quiet getaway you've been promised.

Enjoy the peaceful country setting of our cottages. We have one, two and four bedroom cottages all equipped with wood burning fireplaces, cable TV, internet and kitchens ready to cook a home made meal. Outside the porches have rocking chairs so you can enjoy your morning coffee or enjoy the sunset on the mountains in the evening. Our glass enclosed outdoor pool (seasonal) offers a delightful place to relax.

Mountain Joy Cottages are centrally located in the heart of Maggie Valley just one block up Setzer Cove Road with easy access to all of the area attractions. We are just minutes off of the Scenic Blue Ridge Parkway and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The area is loaded with craft, antique and gift shops. The great outdoors offers horseback riding, golf on area mountain courses, trout fishing in streams, white water rafting and scenic drives. Snow skiing and tubing is available for the entire family at Cataloochee Ski Area. Nightlife includes everything from Jazz to Bluegrass, clogging or dinner entertainment. Our cottages are just a short drive to the Great Smoky Mountain Railway, The Biltmore Estate in Asheville, Cherokee Indian Reservation and Harrah’s Casino and historic downtown Waynesville.

Whatever the season, Mountain Joy Cottages and the Great Smokies have something very special to offer. From the wildflowers of spring, to the blaze of colors in the fall or the serenity of winter, come visit and make lasting memories at Mountain Joy Cottages.

Weekend Getaway

It is a great location for a nice little getaway,calm and cozy, laid back setting. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back to stay again.

Got to see bull elk fighting in the yard below the deck. We were safe watching from the deck. Got to see a bear in the wild. The cabin was clean for the most part. Except for some rather large cobwebs in plain sight. We had plenty of towels except for a bath mat to step on out of the shower. Overall all a great place.

We stayed in the Feathered Friends cabin. Cabin needs cleaning and updating, some lightbulbs were out, oven doesn’t work properly, we were only given 1 trash bag. We enjoyed Tube World and Joey’s pancake house. We would not stay in this cabin again

Reviewer Comments: We have stayed here about 6 or 7 times now, we enjoy it every time, ( I do have a small request, the clock on the wall has not worked in years, also the lights above the kitchen sink & in the closet work part of the time, the outside flood lights on the corner facing drive have never worked, the alarm clock wont work without wiggling the cord.) just fyi we purchased some new bulbs for light above kitchen table & beside the bed)

This property had old broken blinds up and the decor is very outdated. There was no room for you to turn around your vehicle. You could pull in but could not turn around to get off the property, without backing up at least 3 times and I was in a small suv.

Reviewer Comments: We love the cabin that we stay in but not to my surprise it was not clean, we stay there in Dec. 2019, not clean then, this time is was still dirty as it was before. The kitchen was clean, but floor were dirty, I brought my mop from home and moped the floor, toilet was dirty, I cleaned with my cleaners, the return on the air unit was had lint on the outside, the filter looked like it had not been changed in years. I went to Ingles and bought another one and replaced the old one. A sock was laying beside the bed from the prior renter, that tells me the floor was not swept. I did bring my own towels, sheets, toilet paper, paper towels, because when I made the reservations I ask about how clean is the cabin cleaned, I was told, it was by the CDC guide lines. Not so, my husband's immune system is not very stable, that was the reason for my questions. Immune system being not so good or not, that is no reason for the cabins to be nasty. We wanted to stay at Christmas, but I am not spending all that money, and have to be house cleaning. By the way we did not stay six nights as planned, we only stayed 5 nights, and did not ask for a refund.I will try to find another place to stay using Vrbo

Super cute and quaint

I loved the setting!!! It was very quiet and loved the ponds and the view from the deck. I picked best cabin to stay with my dog too. I felt very comfortable and safe. I would definitely come back!

We Loved It!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This place is fantastic. Right in the middle of it all and convenient to everything. The room was spacious and clean and the jacuzzi and fireplace really knocked it out of the park. The WiFi is weak if you’re trying to work, but I used my mobile data to boost when needed, and was thankful in the end to make the trip a little less work and more play.
