Designed as a private paradise for two adults only, Bonita Vista is centrally located and easy to get to, yet very private. There are no other rentals on the property. This new hillside retreat features a large, covered pool bar with breathtaking views overlooking the Vieques National Wildlife Refuge and Caribbean Sea.

A relaxing afternoon poolside slips easily into sunset cocktail hour and dinner from the grill. Perhaps a swim under the stars or a magical moonrise over the bay!

Just steps away to the cottage where your luxurious queen bed awaits and A/C or soothing tropical breezes lull you to sleep. Awake to a spectacular sunrise and enjoy a 'rainfall' shower in your en-suite bathroom. Savor your morning coffee from the fully equipped kitchen while you plan the days adventure!

Turnkey Paradise!

There have been countless favorable reviews of Kris and Barbara's place in recent years, and we are now proud to say each and every one is 100% accurate! Every 'box is checked' from the views to the amenities and tranquility. If I had one concern all week, it was that the blender motor would hold out! LOL. Thank you again gracious hosts!

Peaceful retreat

Four days was not long enough! I agree that photos do not do this property justice. That view!! Plus stargazing at night, lush surroundings, comfortable well equipped studio. The location between Isabel Segundo and Esperanza was convenient to everything. Communication with the owners was seamless from start to finish. We would gladly return!

Incredible views and a Beautiful Property

The views were absolutely incredible and Barbara was a helpful and gracious host. Amenities are top-notch and kept extremely clean. A super relaxing getaway for anyone that needs to unwind. Great for couples.

Better than the pictures!

The first thing that attracts me to a rental property are the photos. I'm pretty sure that's how it works for everyone. The pictures for this place are gorgeous and they're perfectly taken, but they don't do the place justice. It's truly a little paradise and the hosts are incredibly accommodating. The bar/pool area was chic, well equipped, and comfortable, great for relaxing in the sun or stargazing at night. Located very close to the park entrance for the beaches and a local grocery store. The room was also incredibly accommodating for a couple who want to cook themselves some nights and the bed was very comfortable. It's also a few miles from Isabel II and Esperanza, so not a long way to travel but also far enough away to escape the sounds of traffic and others in the towns. Highly recommend.

Vieques Getaway

My wife and I spent a wonderful week in Vieques. Kris picked us up at the airport in his car, which we rented for the week, which was extremely handy. Communication prior to our arrival was excellent and the check-in process seamless. The casita was perfect for two. Clean, private, well-equipped, with an amazing ocean vista over the green of the island. Kris was available whenever necessary but gave us our complete privacy otherwise. Wonderful property, we'd stay again without hesitation!

Exceptional!

This is a perfect place to stay on Vieques. The cottage is lovely. The pool and pool bar are delightful. Everything you need to enjoy a stay is at hand, from cooking at home to cooling off after a day exploring or at the beach. Hosts Kris and Barbara have thought of everything and are incredibly responsive and helpful. You'll delight in listening for roosters, horses, and birds from your exceptional perch above the preserve overlooking the Caribbean. Truly among the best.

Private and Spacious

This place was great for us. It's definitely much more spacious than the pictures imply, at least for us two. An amazing view overlooking the Eco Reserve, plus an outdoor covered area with a grill and bar where we cooked a few dinners. Also, this spot is central and is maybe a 7 minute drive to Esperanza and Isabel II, or any of the many beaches. We are coming back to the island and staying here next winter. K&B will give you total privacy but will also be available as soon as you text or call them.

Extraordinary Hillside Paradise

We just returned from a 4 day stay at Bonita Vista and I wish we had stayed longer! The property has expansive views over the wildlife preserve to the sea,enjoyed from either your sitting area outside your cabin or from the lounge chairs of your private pool cabana. I found it very hard to leave the property and explore the island! The landscaping is just a tropical paradise. We had everything we needed, lots of beach towels, beach chairs and even a cooler was provided for our outings. Kris and Barbara are very thoughtful hosts, the map marked with special spots was very appreciated. Thank you again for creating such a perfect place to stay!

Absolutely Lovely

The pictures do NOT do it justice. This place is breath taking. Lush, green, nature all around you. Full and total privacy even though they live right on the property. Accessible via golf cart. The house is small but perfect for a short stay. We were there for 7 days. All the things you need for cooking. And we canā€™t say enough how wonderful Barbara and Kris are. We loved loved our stay and would come back again anytime!

Beautiful View and Central location

This is well appointed clean studio and the view is fantastic from the pool bar!!! I would book it if you are looking at it! We enjoyed it every day - eating outside with the view, relaxing with a book by the pool. The hosts were very nice and gave a great overview at the beginning and then we felt like we had the view, pool and of course the studio all to ourselves. We used the kitchen and fridge - well appointed for cooking with everything you need and spices/condiments that folks left behind. Thanks for sharing your wonderful place!

Amazing!

Stayed at Bonita Vista for 10 days. Been coming to Vieques for now our 12th year. Barbara said that the property was "a labor of love " for her husband Kris. No doubt they put in a lot of hours of hard work and it really shows. We absolutely loved it there! From the perfect little cottage to the very cool bar and pool area. The view was spectacular as well. Pretty much located between Esperanza and Isabel so getting around was easy with "Matilida" our somewhat old but feisty little golf cart! It is the perfect place for a couple to enjoy time together. We hope to go back next year. Thank you Barb and Kris!

Just what we were looking for!

We were looking for a place to completely relax with a beautiful view, kitchen, pool and privacy. This was the perfect choice. Access to their car was a great benefit, including airport pick up and drop off. We had everything we needed to make our own meals, pack lunches, beach chairs and towels, cooler, etc. Shower was awesome - warm and great pressure which you don't always find with a rainfall shower. Everything is so close, yet we were often the only people on the beaches and hikes. Highly recommend it if you are looking for privacy, relaxation, pool, and amazing views!

Prettier than the pictures

An extraordinary property, and as others have reviewed, the views are amazing. Morning with the roosters, birds, and horses, and star gazing at night. We rented the vehicle from Kris and Barbara, and roamed the island which has a variety of road conditions. Entry and exiting the cottage is a challenge due to a steep and slanted grade as well a a sharp turn. We prepared most of our meals at the cottage, and ate at the pool bar. Gas grill was clean, and WiFi was good. The bioluminescent tour at Mosquito Bay is a must do. Highly recommend this property. Kris and Barbara are fabulous hosts.

Two Weeks in Paradise

We loved this place! Kris & Barbara were so responsive and helpful. They really have created a fun little cottage and work hard to keep it spotless. It was hard to leave when the time came to go. Renting their car was a great decision, as a vehicle is really needed in this location. Vieques was fun to explore, and we went all over. Be sure to spend time in both Isabelle II and Esperanza. (By the way, we loved the Bananas restaurant in Esperanza.) My husband had served in the Navy in Puerto Rico in the 70's and enjoyed seeing some of the places he had been way back then. Thanks for a lovely vacation!

Best Location/Vacation!

Kris & Barbara are great hosts... we just spent 14 nights there and may have seen them twice I think the whole time. Relaxing and beautiful place!! The forethought by Kris & Barbara for all the basics at the cottage was taken care of. You unpack, (or wait til later) :) and go! My wife and I are looking forward very much to returning and would love to stay at Bonita Vista again! The pics don't do it justice, they have a wonderful setting and view there. Truely Paradise!

We spent 5 nights here and I did shed some tears leaving, it was so wonderful! The pictures do not do it justice. It is truly paradise. Barbara and Kris have created a wonderful escape here. They were the perfect hosts. We appreciated the map with all the information on it, very helpful! We also appreciated using the beach chairs, cooler, and snorkel equipment. Everything we needed was provided. We loved watching the sun come up over the ocean. We spend part of the day relaxing by the pool and part of the day exploring the island. We loved sailing, the bio bay, and horseback riding. We truly enjoyed every moment of our time there and hope to return some day!
