This is a great location for exploring town and walking to all the restaurants. The fireplace is awesome, and the host has left plenty of detailed instructions for the house. It's very well appointed with kitchen items and anything you'd need.

A cozy little nook right in the heart of Taos - the perfect size for two and an easy walk to pretty much anywhere you fancy. We had a lovely weekend here!

Location location, location! Exceptionally clean, had a cozy 2 night stay. Walk anywhere in central Taos. Marian offered restaurant recommendations and they were outstanding! Hope to return again…..thanks Marian

Cute little spot within walking distance of many restaurants and shops! Attentive host and great amenities. Earplugs provided, which were needed, and sometimes not strong enough as this property sits on a main road out of town and has many large delivery-type trucks that pass by.

The studio is located on a main street, but because Taos is a small town, traffic and road noise were minimal at night and did not affect our stay. One of the property's biggest advantages is its location within walking distance of the Taos Plaza, with easy access to shops, and restaurants.Although it is a studio, the space feels quite roomy. The kitchen and bathroom are both generously sized, especially for a studio. Prospective guests should note that there is no dedicated parking, which may be inconvenient.One important consideration is that the studio has clearly accommodated pets in the past. If you are particularly sensitive to pet dander or dog hair, as I am, this may not be the best fit, and you may want to consider other options.

Great place to stay!

Wonderful place to stay in Taos. Be sure to read the history and backstory of this studio. The location is close and within easy walking distance to many great Taos galleries, museums, and restaurants. The property manager was easy to communicate with and was responsive to any questions or requests. I highly recommend this very unique studio.

Property was as described. Interior is very nice, clean, comfortable, and cozy. But had no A/C. Our fault. Never thought to ask and maybe normally wouldn't have mattered but was very warm in Taos for time of year when we stayed. Should have been in the 80's, but was low 90's. Mornings were great and cool, but night and evenings retained daytime heat, and a little warm to sleep. And we are usually cold. We could have left main door open to screen door to outside, but ......Parking is as described, but once again our fault for assuming. Inconvenient on street. And considering we picked this for location which is great. You can walk everywhere. Technically parking is limited to 2 hrs. during day. (Overnight is ok) and having out of state license plate. Did not want to chance, though depending on who you talk to, does not matter.Outside left much to be desired. No clear instructions or signage as to where was available to sit or use to enjoy the cool evenings.Did not find out until last night, and by happenstance and it could have used some cleaning up.

It seems that you didn't read any info but want to complain about what you didn't know when all the info was available. There is no outdoor area for the property what you found is perfectly fine for you to sit in but was never described as part of the unit.

Taos stay

The studio is as listed. Bathroom and kitchen were clean, but floor was not and not sure about the bed sheets. Had fans but it was very warm. We left the interior door open at night to help cool the place, but were a little concerned about safety. Not easy to get your luggage into the studio as doors are small and could not open both sets of doors.

A one star rating does not align with your comments and seems more fueled by misplaced anger and a desire to be rude than anything factual. You say the apartment was "as described" and that the bathroom and kitchen were clean. We take pride in our vigorous cleaning routines. Do you really think we cleaned the kitchen and bathroom but not the floor or sheets? Honestly, how dare you. It's quite likely that, being that you arrived in a dusty town, that you tracked dust in on your arrival. And your speculation about the sheets that is based on nothing either tangible or observed, is simply a rude and baseless accusation. You could have contacted me about any of these issues and I would have helped to ameliorate or resolve them. You did not. Some people would rather complain than find a solution. For that reason, I'll speculate that the source of your suffering is internal rather than external and I'll rely on the intelligence of my future guests to see this review for what it is - angry lashing out at the wrong person. I gave you an excellent review in good faith but your communication is utterly 0 stars. It must be hard to live in a one star world while everyone else is enjoying 5 stars.

Fantastic location and gracious host

This historic pet-friendly adobe dwelling is one block from the Taos Plaza and walking distance (less than a mile) from many excellent museums, shops, and restaurants. It is a cosy studio apartment, with a very well-equipped kitchen, comfortable king bed, and nice bathroom with good water pressure and double sinks. The host is very gracious and thoughtful, providing freshly ground local coffee for the coffee maker, tea bags, and small soap and hair care products for the bathroom. Towels and linens were clean and looked new. Our host was very responsive to questions and suggestions. We cooked a few meals in the small but usable kitchen with a good assortment of pots, pans, and kitchen tools. The oven, refrigerator, toaster, and coffee maker all worked perfectly. No automatic dishwasher. No dining table, only a raised counter with two high stools. Because it is in the center of town and on a busy road, light sleepers and people needing absolute silence to fall asleep should plan accordingly. Though we had no problems finding street parking nearby, this unit offers no off-street parking. Some Taos parking lots do not allow overnight parking, either. A nice park for dog walking is only a few blocks away. We loved the location, the gracious and welcoming host, and the experience of staying in a real adobe hideaway in the heart of Taos.
