*Please be aware that the bathroom has a whirlpool tub with a handheld shower. There is not a walk-in shower.*

This little 1890's carriage house is found just two blocks south of Main Street on the west part of town is cozy, romantic and comfortable. Located next door to the homeowner, this one room house is perfect for that romantic getaway. Although there are many Texas accents throughout the cabin, there is also an elegance and softness throughout.

Inside is a kitchenette with microwave, small refrigerator and Keurig coffeemaker. An old chuck wagon finds a new life as an open cabinet for storage and doubles as the dining table. Two stools are perfect for enjoying a stay-in meal for two.

The queen bed with the ā€œstarā€ headboard is found in the middle of the room with the mattress sitting high off the floor- but for your convenience there is a stool to make getting in and out of the bed a little easier! On one side of the bed is a cabinet with the cable television and DVD player and the other side of the bed has an armoire for storing clothes during your stay. The bathroom is a wonderful enchantment with the large whirlpool tub and handheld shower. It is truly designed for that romantic evening we all are looking forward to.

Just outside the bedroom is a small patio for guests to enjoy. During the spring and summer the blooms and greenery from the yard will surely delight your senses and create another reason to relax and enjoy!

- Observe the City of Fredericksburg Quiet Hours (10pm to 7am in residential zones). No music of any kind after 10 pm.
- The City of Fredericksburg is a Dark Sky Community with outdoor lighting restrictions. All outdoor lighting is encouraged to be turned off when no one is present to use the light.
- Observe the designated on-site and off-site parking spaces.
- Place all trash in designated containers.

We had a great stay and would definitely choose again. Location was perfect just off the main road. Great option of Amenities in cabin such as coffee, towels, and body wash. Cabin was clean and decorated cute!

Easy check in, clean place and was a comfortable stay. It's a studio so keep that In mind but it's still a nice place. Gastenhaus was good to work with and communication was good. The only thing not communicated was the parade that was going to go on that evening and all of the roads were blocked off , so it wasn't the easiest place to find because of having to park several blocks away to check in the office. Anyway it's not a dealbreaker, just something to keep in mind.

Outstanding cottage

A Tex-Inn is wonderful. Private quiet street. Just enough beautiful furniture and the drive is off of the street. This is my second time to stay and I will stay again. I feel safe and comfortable being there. Close to Main Street and HEB. The cottage is beautiful and comfortable. Everyone is so nice.

No wifi. Tall queen bed that requires foot-stools to climb into. TV is located in an armoire at the side of the bed... very uncomfortable to watch from bed (no easy chair). No clothes hangers. Only a shower head in tub. Too High priced for what it is.

We enjoyed the cozy little carriage house located in the historic neighborhood. Close to town yet far enough away from Main Street. We met the owner and he was very friendly and helpful when the cable stopped working. He fixed it immediately.

The room was decorated beautifully, the bed was very comfortable. I was underwhelmed with the whirlpool bath, the coffee bar was very disappointing, creamer and sugar were missing. My biggest disappointment was the lack of seating, the only chair was a large wooden chair. It was uncomfortable. Overall the room was clean and well kept, not sure it was worth the money paid, but it was available when we needed it. Thank you. J&B

Awesome Stay!

We have been coming to Fredericksburg for more than 26 years and we try different guest houses just to take in some variety. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had a last-minute change of location and A Tex-Inn worked perfectly. The house was clean and ready when we needed it (at a short-term notice) and the private parking was ideal for us (we could park right in front of the entry door). The bed was comfortable, and we were able to watch the Astros in the World Series on the TV that was available. We were grateful for Gastehaus Schmidt working the arrangement out for us and the owner of A Tex-Inn accommodating us.

Great escape, but you should know....

This is a wonderful cottage. But there are two things you should know. There is no WiFi and we knew that. However, EVERYTHING in FBG requires reservations, and unless you make them BEFORE you get there, you won't make them from this cottage. Secondly, the driveway has a steep transition from the street. Unless you have a truck or SUV, your low profile car may bottom out like mine did. The host offers the driveway, but I wish i would have parked on the street.

What a cute little cabin. My husband and I came up to Fredericksburg from Corpus Christi for our birthdays and found this gem A-Tex inn. It was cozy and romantic. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return! 5 stars Gastenhaus!

We were comfortable and enjoyed the old farm decor. The location was convenient to everything. The only thing we missed was breakfast goods. We are used to breakfast coupons for local dining or pastries from local bakeries.
